~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Hey! Sorry I've been so behind, school's been crazy lately! My first class this afternoon was canceled though so I thought I'd head over here. The Great Movie Ride... my favorite memory actually isn't something I remember firsthand. I just know if it from watching the video of our trip in 1992 so many times... I screamed bloody murder on that ride!!! I was 5 and absolutely TERRIFIED of the alian scene and continued to just scream until we got off the ride! Those poor other people in our car

It was FREEZING, and the wind was blowing just so that all the water "screens" were spraying us like crazy. Everyone was shivering like mad. It was so bad that when the dragon comes out and breathes fire onto the lake, everyone CHEERED. The whole theater (particularly our side) erupted into loud applause. It was the same kind of cheer that occurs at the end of the show. But what was really funny was when Mickey defeated the dragon and started putting the fire out, people actually BOOED him! :rotfl2:

Aw poor Mickey!

Once a CM at the MNSSHP leaned in to our buggy wearing vampire fangs, and another laid down on the moving handrail and pretended to be dead, his eyes wide open.

I love it when CM's play their part!

That's cool that you got to be "evacuated," but a bummer that you missed the rest of the ride. I think you'll love the ending when you ride it in June. :thumbsup2

I hope so!

I love the trailers during the pre-show. :3dglasses I can quote some of them, and people in line look at me all funny. :rolleyes1

OMG I say all the lines along with the people in the trailers too!

Hmmm favorite memory...would have to be when I finally found the hidden mickeys on this ride! I was very into finding hidden Mickeys about 5 years ago, I had the book and everything and I found the two big ones after much searching...mickey's feet sticking out under the billboard in the "ganster scene" and mickey and donald on the wall in the Indiana Jones part. I love all the little Disney touches. :goodvibes I was so proud of myself and I still look for them every time. Poor DD has yet to see them, he is not very observant

I have the book too! It's so much fun finding them. My favorite hidden mickey is in the Peter Pan line.

Haha, I was so scared of the alien part too! I still kinda get nervous as we enter that part.

My favourite memory of the Great Movie Ride is actually in the queue. I remember the first time I saw Mary Poppins' carousel horse and I freaked. out. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen and I couldn't believe it was right in front of me. I probably held the line up for about 5 minutes in awe with my jaw dropped to the floor.:rotfl:

Aw how cute!

The Great Movie Ride...Last time we rode this we met a really nice family and they were just like us. They had kids the same age as ours. They had more fun before we got on than on the ride itself. It was cute. Other than that this one is not so memorable. I wish they'd hire some hotties to "drive" the thing. That would be nice!

Hahahahaha some hotties would be nice. :thumbsup2 Now that's all I'm going to think about getting on GMR!

oh yes more hotties all over the parks would be a bonus!

Not GMR but last trip I was enthralled (ahem!) by Prince Caspian who was doing autographs. I was about to ask DD if she wanted to meet him (ahem again!!!!) when DH saw straight through me!!! But if he can gaze longingly at Ariel then I can drool over Prince Caspian!!!:rotfl:

Hahaha.

Of course no memory for me butttttt I'll be lookin to see if they hired those hotties yet that Tammy wants to see :rotfl:

I have the book too! It's so much fun finding them. My favorite hidden mickey is in the Peter Pan line.

I gave my book to my mom's friend who has little kids and I've never seen the peter pan one and can't remember where it is. Can you describe it for me so I can find it in June?!

Okay let me try my best...you are in line and you are getting closer to the actual loading area. Face forward and there are trees on your left. The hidden mickey is on one of the tree trunks.

Thanks! I can't wait to try and find it:thumbsup2

The Great Movie Ride
- I love this ride! It was my best friend's first time on this ride and she didn't really know what to expect. We pull into the scene where the mobster comes out and starts to shoot and all of a sudden she lets out the loudest scream I've ever heard come from her mouth. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: She said she wasn't expecting any gun shootings and it just took her off guard, but it was hilarious. Everyone in our car started to laugh a little and she turned around, stood up somewhat and took a bow. Only her! Haha.

Hahaha. At least she took it in stride and took a bow.

Attraction of the Day...

Nemo the Musical

It was our first time doing this after it opened..We got in line early and ended up getting a good seat! Okay, so the show's going and we're all just in awe. Then the people come out in the aisles with the long stick things and they swing around the jellyfish with long tails. Well, we were close to one of the aisles so we were turning around looking at the guy in our aisle and see this: the guy two rows behind us on the end was getting hit by the tail everytime it was swung around! His family was laughing so hard. Finally after the 3rd time of getting hit, he decided to duck the next time. :lmao:
