If you were any kind of fan of Michael Jackson I recommend seeing This Is It.
I am not a HUGE fan of MJ, but I like some of his music and so remember when Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller came out. Watching the premier of Thriller on MTV, ect...The movie is interesting and fun to watch, but sad to see what could have been. I think it would have been an amazing concert, some of the stuff they were planning was very cutting edge. It was obvious SO much work went into it.

We are going 11/5 at Pleasure Island!

Glad to hear it was interesting.

I think you will really enjoy it, it's well put together and the music is very good. Watching Michael was though fascinating.

I was on the fence about seeing it (sometimes MJ can be a little weird, I wasn't sure if I could handle an entire movie of him), but after hearing a lot of fairly positive reviews, I think I'll go!

I was president of the Michael Jackson fan club in 1st grade, after all... :cool2:

When does the "Kelvis Live" movie come out?

I hear ya, but he was not weird at all this movie. I was actually struck by how normal he seemed and it isn't all him. They show the dancers and how they did thinks, the customer designer was in it, the choreographer, dancers, musicians, ect...

Did you see any parts of the film that looked like a body double was used ?

MJ's loving and wonderful father, Joe, and some others have claimed that there is a little visual trickery going on...

Joe Jackson....the bastion of truth and honor.:lmao:

Actually I heard about this yesterday so I was looking for it, but if they did I don't know where. Maybe in one short segment it could have been done, but I couldn't say for sure. Like I said, I was looking for it and I still didn't see it.

I didn't know Joe Jackson was the one saying it...if I did, I wouldn't even have bothered looking for it.

We went yesterday and we loved it.
Emiel and i are not MJ fans, we loved his music and went to a concert once (because you must have seen all the big ones once).

The movie was perfect!!
I loved it so much i could go again.

It's very interesting to see how things worked and how you put together a concert.
Also i loved to watch Timor the Dutch dancer, it's amazing that a Dutch dancer was one of the 11 dancers for the show.

It's also very interesting to see how MJ condition was, i know that this wasn't how he was all the time.
But even if MJ was this 1/3 the time that this movie was taped, even then he was in a very good condition. And in my opinion he could do the 50 concerts and before i saw this movie i always thought that 50 concerts where never going to happen.

I loved it and i would say to everybody: Go see this!!!

I also went to see it even though I've never been a huge MJ fan. I was so glad I did, it showed a normal side of Michael that, for me, humanized him. His genius, his talent, his creativity, his extreme hard work all was very obvious. I also liked that he treated everyone respectfully, no theatrics in trying to get his point across.
I also was watching for a double and didn't spot one.

I want to see this movie. After he died, I felt so bad for all the people that have worked so hard to make this concert. At least this way, they get some recognition.
