I remember him best ( and will be the only one on this board thats remembers this) he played a real mean guy in a tv mini series called 'Rich man, Poor mam"

I loved the "Rich Man, Poor Man" miniseries! (I even own the book!)
But I don't remember Palance's character in the show.

He will also be the mean cowboy, Curly in City Slickers to me!

ouu I didnt think anyone rembered that, that was the first grown up Novel I ever read, and I goofed it was William Smith, I was thinking of who played the best bad guy ever, Falconetti

He was great alongside Joan Crawford in Sudden Fear. Such interesting facial features.

I didn't realize he was in his 80's. The only movie I remember seeing him in was that goofball comedy Cops and Robbersons with Chevy Chase.
Jack Palance played a gruffy cop that had to live in Chevy's house to keep a watch on the criminal that had moved in next door.

That is my first memory of him as well. Much better than Dean Cain.

And Curly is IMO one of the best characters ever on film. Awesome performance. He wasn't bad in the sequel either.

I agree -- Falconetti was one scary bad dude!

I so Peter Strauss in that show! And I could never look at Ed Asner the same -- all of that chest hair, ick, pouring out of his Wife-Beater (white undershirt!) Papa Jordache.

sorry for the hijack, but are you sure your not me, I think the edzact same way, I always liked Lou Grant until that part, he played it to well, he is a drunk, tons of hair wife beater, I hate him
