Ordering from Disney merchandising?

I wanted to buy the monorail set to put under my Christmas tree...

I was wondering if anyone here ever ordered from Disney merchandising by phone??

How does it work??

What about the customs?

Posts: 710 I bought a purse from Disney mail order after we came home the first part of May. They sent my parcel by UPS - the cost of the freight goes by the price of the item, not by the weight. My purse was under $20 so they charged me $10 or $15 freight just like they told me, but on the parcel it said that Disney paid $25 for the freight. I was told that they send parcels by ground so it may take up to two weeks between the ground freight and getting through customs but they must have inadvertently sent it by air because I got it within 3 days and no extra customs charges. If there is anything else I can tell you, just ask. Ordering from them was easier than ordering out of the Sears catalogue!

is this from disneyshopping.com? we used to get a disney catalogue all the time but then they stopped. I was told it was because they didnt have a Canadian based place to ship them out of anymore. I really enjoyed receiving it.

My purse was actually called a tote bag by Disney. It is blue plastic with 2007 across it with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy etc. peeking around the 2007 with a zipper closure. I told my son it was my weekend summer purse - he told me just not to use it when he was going with me somewhere.

If you had seen something in any of the stores at WDW you wish you had gotten but didn't, you just have to phone them, describe the item, and they can usually find it for you. I was trying to show some restraint this year by not buying the purse even though I really wanted it - I'll never do that again.
