I want to hear from those who have stayed at the Days Suites Maingate East by Old Town. Is the staff friendly? Is it clean? Are the 3 pools outside in good condition, pleasant atmoshere? Has anyone tried their breakfasts at the Suite? Is it better to get a second floor room with a Balcony, or stay on the first floor? DOes Old Town next door make it noisy at night? Want to hear your reports, good and bad!! Thanks!

That place is bad news. Do a search put in Days Inn Suites get all lot comments on it.

I haven't heard anything good about that place. I would suggest the Comfort Inn Maingate East which is just on the other side of Old Town. We were there in March and loved it. Very affordable.

I stayed there a few years ago. Let's see, the staff was not friendly, the rooms were very dirty, and the pools were not fit to let my dog swim in. I think that about sums it up! Unless they've done a complete turn around since then, you'll want to stay far, far away from that place.

Boy....This really sounds bad!!! I was under the impression the Days Inn was lousy, but the Days Suites was OK, I posted this question last year and got different results. So I booked the place. It's really confusing because there is the Quality Suites, the Comfort Suites and the Days Suites all together near Old Town, unfortunetly we are booked in less than a week for the Days Suites, Father in Law said he went there and was wonderful, but maybe he was confused by all these "suites" being next to each other, maybe he stayed at the Quality or the Comfort, who knows. I did look up Reviews on the net- thru Google, what I found wasn't THAT BAD. It may be a little noisy being next to Old Town and Plain. We are not used to beautiful hotels anyway, just the cheaper bare essential places, so I am hoping all who have posted are just used to being "pampered" a little, and we will enjoy our stay there. Otherwise, I guess this will ruin our vacation! If it's true the swimming pool is sooo bad you wouldn't let your dog use it, I think I'm going to have a problem with the place! Please, I HOPE this is an exaggeration!! I just hope I can come back and say..It was "OK", I guess at this point, I am anxious to see for myself. But I still like hearing what others think, it's nice to be prepared. I have coupons ready for other Suites in case I am horrified! Of coarse these ones cost almost double, only 1 TV in Suite, and we might be on the Umteenth floor. I think those are the reasons I picked the Days Suites. I will definetly post when I get back.

We stayed there several years ago, I had checked around and the rating was not bad. The front of the building was pretty but it went downhill from there. The suite we had was dirty. I do not know if they are still doing it but when we were there if you wanted a cup or plate, silverware etc. you had to rent by the pc and day. I stay at suites all the time and I could not believe that they would not give you any dishes! If you go there do not expect much and you will probably be alright.

terrible place. dont do it. we went last year. we had so many brochures on the place and it looked beautiful!!!

got there and the staff was very rude! the airconditioning didnt work in the unit, the tv didnt work. the balcony was very dangerous because the railings were set wide. my son almost slipped through! oh and the pool were tiny and filthy!!

we left in went to the holiday inn sunspree - great place!!!

good luck!!!

We stayed there in December 2001 for 2 nights , and I would not do it again!! I was very disappointed in the place. The brochures make it look much better than it really is. We stayed in one of the suites. Our toilet ran all night, we had no place to park (we were in the front part of the place near the office)
We went swimming in one of the so-called "heated" pools (which didn't feel heated at all)
After swimming for maybe a half hour or so, we all got out of the pool to discolored shorts and bathing suits. There was so much chlorine in the pool that it ruined my shorts and my husband shorts, not to mention that it completely changed the color of our swimsuits. I was exteremly disappointed.
The place is a dump!! It hasn't been renovated in years!! I guess the only good thing about it is it's right next door to Old Town.

I stayed here and it was horrible. It was really dirty and we left after one night. We would have left that night, but it was really late and the kids were tired. I hardly slept at all and couldn't wait to get up early and try to get out of our reservation. We did stop by the breakfast that they offered by the pool on our way out but it was a joke. Plastic bags and a limit of 2 doughnuts. I hope you take the other opinions about the Days Suites because this can ruin your vacation.

Stayed there two years ago. Every bad thing said is true. Rent dishes, tv,ac, micro didn't work. When I complained they actually said What do you expect your not at a 5* hotel. Room was very dirty, pool disgusting. It's not too late change your res or you will regret it. Good Luck!!!

The Days Suites is horrible..everything that has been said is all true..avoid this hotel. If you want to stay in the Old Town Area, stay at the Comfort Suites Maingate East.
