Not necessarily. I don't agree that just because someone is opinionated that they are necessarily smart and well informed.

Some of the worst bigots are very opinionated, and I hope you would agree with me that that type of person is neither smart nor well-informed.

An opinionated person can be either smart or stupid. If you meant to say that she is opinionated AND smart and well informed that is totally different from saying that opinionated is equal to (=) smart and well informed.

Certainly opinionated does not equal smart and well informed.

I believe the problem lies in that many people assume smart and well informed equals opinionated.
