We are going to WDW soon.....presently have 2 rooms booked at Port Orleans/FQ one for us, one for 2 DD's ages 16 and 18.

Would like to try Animal Knigdom Lodge...but too pricey for 2 rooms. Would you stick to 2 rooms where we are or move to one room at Animal Kingdom Lodge?? Having never stayed there, I know the beds are 2 queens but is that worth giving up extra bathroom/T.V etc...

What are the room sizes like?

The rooms at POFQ are 314 square feet. The regular rooms at AKL are 360 square feet. The deal is that in the deluxes you have an entry hall and a closet that takes some of the square footage. At the moderates, including Port Orleans, there is no entry hall, the door opens directly into the room. This can make the moderate rooms feel a bit more spacious. Also the furniture in the AKL is a bit massive and takes up some more space. I love the AKL room decore but it is slightly tight for a group of adults and teens. I personally would pick the AKL as the decore, exotic feel and view of the animals is awesome HOWEVER you might feel much more comfortable with more room, 4 beds and especially...two bathrooms.

You could also check into a Deluxe room @ the AKL. Those rooms are supposed to be a bit bigger. I would choose the AKL just b/c of the atmosphere. You will be paying a bit more, but it would be well worth it. Also your family surely won't be spending too terribly much time in the room, so you can adjust to getting ready to go to the parks and attractions. Hope this helps!! Enjoy your stay wherever you choose!!:):)

We stayed in a deluxe room. It is 380 square feet. I think it is 3 feet longer than the standard and while any extra room helps it is not that big of a deal unless you get assigned one of the BIG balconies like we did. :)

I would recommend you stay with your current plan. It is so much nicer to have the two rooms and the two bathrooms!
You can experience the Animal Kingdom Lodge, go there and have a nice meal in one of the great restaurants and take time to explore the resort and see the animals.
The French Quarter is a fun resort and you can take the boat over to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island from there.
Have a great time!

That's why I asked here!!
I can always count on great help with my dilemmas!!;)

I would stick to your current plan. PO/FQ is a great resort and with 2 teenagers, the extra TV and bathroom will be a lifesaver.
Good luck!
