Opera singing neighbor

The neighbor I share my bedroom wall with plays the guitar, and a friend of theirs, the bongos.... they never start before 10pm, and no they are not good:lmao:

I feel your pain!

Do you live in Ohio? That could be my cousin, or in Texas? That could be our friends dw. I must say I am not fond of opera music at all.

I feel your pain and throbbing headache for sure!!:)

I had a woman that lived above me sing Opera poorly. Omg it was like listening to a cat being abused. Then I had a girl live next door to me who used to blast music and play her electric guitar at 5 or 6am. (One time I blasted yodeling music when she started...unfortunately her music was so loud she never heard it *sigh*) Now I have an idiotic neighbor that goes on his balcony (which happens to be directly above my bedroom) and shout talk to the other neighbor when she is on hers all hours of the day/night. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. My sleep is constantly disturbed.

She has to be REALLY loud if you can hear her from another building! Are you going to complain about it? Maybe she just doesn't know how loud she is.

She sings directly in front of an open bay window. My windows are open. Opera is loud. Sound travels. No, I'm not going to complain. She's in her house. Within time that noise is allowed. Unfortunately, she's not breaking any rules.

Opera is just not my kind of music. That's not her fault.

OP -

Maybe you should record her 'performance' and play it back at an opportune time...
Maybe you should learn harmony parts to her 'solos' and start singing along through a microphoned-megaphone...
Maybe you should get a copy of LuAnn DeLessep's "Money Can't Buy You Class" or Kim Zolciak's "Tardy for the Party" and blast your selection through a killer sound-system...
:cool2:

agnes!

 You're a good person.

Have you thought about wireless head phones? This way you could at least muffle her singing with something you like?

Well at least it's just singing, and not what I used to hear my old upstairs neighbors doing...it was quite loud, involved a few people, and I heard a whip cracking more than once... :lmao:

Seriously, though, the opera would get to me, as well. I don't even like hearing music that I actually ENJOY being played loudly every night over & over again...sounds to me as if she's rehearsing for the stage production of "Titanic", the "ship's bow scene" in particular :rotfl:

from another building is driving me crazy today. :crazy2:

OMG what a you tube viral video oppertunity! get out your camera or cam corder asap!!!!!! :thumbsup2

That would be sooooo cooool
Not for hrs though, sorry for the noise, at least it is not high school kids band practice in the parents house.

Wow! She must have some really loud hands! Are you sure it's opera?

Sorry, I couldn't resist :rotfl2:
I assume she's really singing, not signing.

I say: take said speakers put them near window, play some DMX rapping to Party Up in here.

Or maybe Ozzy Osborne's Crazy Train.

I like all kinds of music, but I don't want to hear other people' s a building away.

When I was young I didn't have normal music taste. I liked a whole range of stuff from Mills Brothers to Show tunes almost to rock to punk almost anything except for progresive jazz.

Well for a while I was hooked on Cabaret was one of my favorite albums. And sometimes I would blast it from my room as one would blast the Doors or Zeplin, other things that I also listented to.

Anyways One of the songs I would blast "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" was a powerful song with a loud marching band type sound. What I didn't know was it was "kinda banned" because it was so tied to the nazi movement.

I didn't find this out till years after a really nice Jewish family that lived next to me moved away. I felt really bad when I found out. I had no idea.

So maybe things could be worse.

Things could be worse....
Ask my neighbours when my son was learning to play bagpipes:lmao:.. .by the time we knew how loud they REALLY were, we had too much money in lessons and instrument invested...(hey - paid off in the long run - I got a trip to L'Orient France and Glasgow out of it - he was too young to travel alone with his band...).

YOu could live in my town or any of 5 surrounding ones from MAy 25th till the end of Aug is opera season. The opera company rent every available house and buy up vancant one to fill up with staff. THey put on between 3 and 4 differnet opera a summer. This summer we seem to have musicains and management as neighbors. BUt the worst are the techs all they seem to do is party all the time.

Oh my! Was your place zoned for that? And did you ever consider renting your house out to voyeurs?
