Back when DH and I were in our final years of college, DH rented a little furnished apartment. It was built of cinderblocks and shaded by a couple of big live oaks. DH had an upper corner apartment with 2 windows. In the Spring and Fall we left our windows open and enjoyed the breezes and could delay or shut off the AC and save weeks of electric bills.
At any rate, a girl our age moved in directly below us the final year of DH's college. (Mine too, but that's a long story.) She introduced herself as a dancer. We later learned she was an exotic dancer.

She also left her windows open in the spring time and the fall to enjoy the same air and the self-cooling properties of a cinder block building; however, she entertained a LOT of gentleman callers. And she wasn't quiet about it!

We presumed they were not the sort of gentlemen who present girls with favors, so to speak, but were rather just men enamored of her, ahem, assets. At any rate, she passed a good time wit' them all.
We just

and laughed it off. She wasn't nearly as loud as the fire trucks (the fire station was across the street) or the ambulances (the hospital was 2 blocks away) or the police cars (the police station was 4 blocks away) or the church bells (the cathedral was 3 blocks away).
