One day - well one night -- is it worth is?

In 2013, DD and I were in Orlando for another event. We decided to stay Sunday-Tuesday to get in some Disney time. Sunday we went to MNSSHP, and Monday we spent an epic 17 hours in the parks - MK->DHS->MK. It was amazing, and that day was absolutely worth the $110 per ticket or whatever we paid.

Yeah, unlikely you'll get any negative responses around here. You won't get one from me either. Go for it!

We went on an extended family cruise leaving Jacksonville in February to celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. When I heard of the plans I immediately began scheming...how far is it to Orlando? Where can I get a room? Is it worth it for "only" a few days? The next thing you know we got bonus Disney time at All Star Sports and had a blast even though there was some rather cool weather according to DW. I wouldn't pass up a chance like yours no way no how!

So as someone mentioned -- since I am attending a conference we were able to get tickets for after 3pm arrivals. So we got a Magic Kingdom ticket arrive at 3pm for $85 bucks. So Wed Nov 30th is the day. I will be the only one in my group of 6 that has ever been to Disney that has ever been to Disney and even this trip will be a first for me with MK being decorated for Christmas -- cant wait -- crowd levels should be low that day as well hopefully.

Spent $96 for 4pm-12:30am on a party night (8 1/2 hours, $11/hour) and $110 for 8am - 2pm (6 hrs, $18/hr) last weekend. Crowded both days, and I was solo. Totally enjoyed myself both times, but the after 4pm experience was way better and more bang for the buck. Love the late arrival convention tickets and party tickets when there is a late close. Still, for a short trip I would do a 1-day ticket again if I could do rope drop and had a good touring plan.

So with us staying off site. Are we are going to have to park at the TTC and take the monorail or ferry over to the MK right? Usually I stay on WDW property but since I am not going with the family I didn't do it this time. Once we get to MK we can get our tickets at the will call there.

Yes, park at TTC. Or valet at a monorail resort. Then ferry or monorail. There is a will call window inside security at MK. Dunno if there is one at TTC.

ETA: I'd allow at least 45 minutes for the transportation/will call process. Longer if you are arriving at opening or beginning of a hard ticket event.
