Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

I think it is so funny you still ask Brandon his opinion on resorts or switching flights. Why bother? He seems to agree to pretty much whatever you choose. It will be nice to have an earlier flight. It really stinks he works at night though and will have to wake up earlier. Hopefully he can sleep on the plane.

Glad to hear your diet is going better. You are much better off eating ww pasta than lean cuisines. It seems like you get much more food that way. Have you tried the Ronzoni smart taste? It is white pasta with added fiber and calcium. It is as good as regular pasta but has 7 grams of fiber per serving. It is on sale at SR this week:)

Anyway, I'll probably see you tonight. Caitlin is asking to come over to watch the Alice in Wonderland movie.

Hey!!! Just had to say hi! I am from CT too!!!:woohoo: We are in Wethersfield. How about you? I am popping over to read your TR now.

Aww, that's cute! :)

LOVE the shirt. I saw that last weekend when we were at Woodfield.

ooooh, I love the shirt! It's so cute! :lovestruc

What a pretty shirt. I always steer clear of the Disney Store before a trip. I always end up wanting 10 shirts!!!!

LOVE the shirt! :lovestruc I can't wait to start buying my clothes for my trip!!

Thanks, everyone! :lovestruc I LOVE that shirt, I can't wait to actually wear it, I'm saving all the clothes I buy for my trip until my actual trip so I don't ruin them somehow, because knowing me, that is very possible! :rotfl:

I'm going to do an actual update today, I haven't really had access to a computer a lot for the past few days, I've been staying at my friend's apartment, bunny sitting for her, and I feel weird about using other people's computers. :confused3 So I've been trying to use my Iphone to keep up with DIS stuff, but it's so hard to type a reply on there! :scared1: But I'm home for now, so I'll be updating shortly and catching up with everyone else's PTR's! :goodvibes

I love the sign! Do you mind me asking how much it was and what the others were? I'd like to find one that's in black and white!

That shirt is fantastic, too!!!

I take a lot of salads with me to work; I'll find things to make them different (avocado, olives, etc.) or add canned chicken or tuna.

Do you drink caffeine or anything carbonated? Both of those make you hold fluid, too. I gave them both up years ago and it definitely helps; I know some people live on caffeine, but once you cut it out of your system, you don't need it anymore. I think it's very addictive, and even in diet drinks, can definitely add on to the diet issues.

I also eat a lot of unsalted nuts for protein throughout the day; they're a filling snack - sliced walnuts are really good for you.

If you'd like any other tips, please let me know!! When I had the flu last year, I gained 15 pounds in two weeks because of all the steroids they had me on, so I worked really, really hard to get rid of it. I'm back to the weight I was at before that, but still want to drop 10!

The sign I got was $10, and it was the smallest one. They had a few sizes, I'm pretty sure I looked at one that was a little bigger and it was $15. They are all one color, unfortunately, the color that I have, but they're very cute! They had all different quotes...if you look for them on ebay, you can see some of the other ones that are available, and I'm pretty sure you can look at them on the Hallmark website, but you have to buy them in the store.

I'd love more dieting tips, if you have any! I'm always looking for good suggestions! I wish I could take salad to work, but I don't like it!!! I wish I could force myself to like it, but the only way I can tolerate it is if I put a ton of dressing on, and that kind of defeats the purpose! :confused3

I love almonds and walnuts, I should really get some! I've been buying that pre-made trail mix by Planter's, and it's good, but I'm sure it's not as good as eating just plain nuts with no salt!

I do drink things with caffeine, but I'm not exactly one of those people who needs it to function. I drink tea in the morning, usually earl grey or green tea, then I'll drink iced tea sometimes during the day. I've been trying to cut down and drink mostly water, but it's hard. And I do drink soda, but lately I've cut way back on it, because I don't want to drink anything with calories, and I just don't like diet soda, so I've pretty much just given up on it all together.

Did you exercise while you were trying to lose weight, or did you just do it by dieting? I can't do one or the other, I have to do both or it doesn't work. I've actually been doing so good with exercising this week that it's starting to become a habit again, which is good, because I'm getting that guilty feeling if I think about skipping it! :rotfl:

Hi everyone! I know I was supposed to update yesterday, but I just never got around to it, it was the most beautiful day we have had here in a while, so I just tried to enjoy it and be outside!

Anyway, there are 3 things I'm really excited about this week that I wanted to share with you, even if they are kind of old news by now (well, 2 of the things anyway! :rotfl:)

1. Disney is extending the Main Street Electrical Parade run! :cool1:

Main-Street-Electrical-Parade-21.jpg

(Not the best picture, but I had to borrow it from wdwinfo, and I liked it because the Cheshire Cat was in it!)

I know they are not saying how long the parade will run, and who knows, it could be over by November and they could be back to Spectro, but I'm excited that there is at least the possibility of seeing it! I remember this parade from my first trip when I was 7, so if I get to see it again, I'd be so happy! It's always nice to be reminded of trips from when I was a kid, especially that first trip, since I barely remember any of it!

2. They finally released the dates of the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights!!! :woohoo:

:lovestruc

Those are just 2 of the many pics I took last year, I'm so excited that I know for sure now that I will be seeing the lights again! The dates are still not on the Disney website, but wdwinfo has released the dates, and that's good enough for me, they start on November 8! I was afraid since they were taking so long to release the dates that they might not start until after Thanksgiving this year and we would miss them! They are so beautiful, we spent probably a good hour just standing there, staring at them! We only saw them one night last year, but I think this trip I might want to try to see them twice, they are just that amazing!:yay:

3. Last but not least...I lost 1.5 pounds this week! :dance3: I did SO good this week, I was so careful not to cheat and to make sure I exercised every single day, so I'm glad it actually worked! Like I mentioned before, I had to bunny sit for my friend, so I stayed at her place for a few days, and she has a Wii Fit. So I tried it out and I ended up loving it, so now I'm going to buy one soon, it's so much fun! And I went for a walk on my break at work I think 3 times last week, so I'm sure that helped.

I also did not bring one Lean Cuisine to work, I brought my whole wheat pasta instead, and I actually like it a lot better, it keeps you full for so much longer than regular pasta! Who knew? :rotfl: I did also switch to Splenda for my tea in the morning, but I did get iced coffee a few times last week because I was so exhausted, and I used real sugar in that, but I hardly ever drink iced coffee so that won't be an every day thing!

I really hope I can continuously lose weight now! I feel like I have finally gotten to the point where I know I have to exercise every day and I have to find time to fit it in even when I don't want to, which is a big thing for me, because at first, I would just put it off and not do it at all!

I only 3 and a half months, 15 weeks til my trip! I guess I won't be losing 50 pounds like I wanted to, but if I can lose between 30 and 40, I will be ok with that! It's still not where I'd like to be, but it's a start, and it will make a huge difference with how I look and how my clothes fit! And to be sure I fit in those Southwest seats, Firefly has me so nervous about that now!!!:rotfl:

Have a great Sunday, everyone! :goodvibes

Ahh I love the Osborne Lights. So amazing. :goodvibes

We have a Wii Fit but I haven't played it in 2 years...I bet if I finally decided to pull it out it would start yelling at me.:rolleyes: Wii Fit can be kind of mean sometimes! LOL.

I am so, so excited that we might get to see the parade!!!! It's one of my favorite WDW memories from when I was little! When we went on our honeymoon, I had yet to discover the DIS, so I didn't know the parade had changed. I was SO disappointed when DH and I saw Spectro! I know it's a great parade too, but it's just not the same! DH has been listening to my wishful thinking since then (2 years ago) and now I might actually get to see it again!!!

Congrats on the weight loss!!!

I hope the Electrical Parade is still there when you get there (I'm hoping it will be there for our September trip)--you will enjoy it.

Congratulations on the weight loss this week. :yay::yay::yay:

I think I may be the only one who's not interested in MSEP. My first experience with nighttime Disney parades was Spectro, and I wanted to see that, so I'm actually disappointed that they extended MSEP.

Anyway, I wanted to recommend another thing for Wii for you :) The Wii Active is actually really good. I've tried my friend's Wii Fit, and I like the Active better.

Love the shirt -- very cute!!

We just bought a Wii Fit this weekend and I love it!! I was a little hesitant at first. I figured it'd be a novelty and I'd get tired of it after awhile. But it's a lot of fun!!! There are several other games that are compatible w/ the Fit Balance Board, too.

I love, love, LOVE the OSoDL! I could just stay back there all night and be completely content. I can't wait to go back sometime to see them. Make sure to take tons of pictures for us!!

Wii Fit yells at you? Great! :rotfl: I'll have to be sure I do it everyday once I buy it then, I don't want a game yelling at me!

I know what you mean about Spectro, it's great, but it's definitely not the same as MSEP! I really hope they keep it going until at least the end of the year, but who knows with Disney? :confused3 :rotfl:

Thanks!!!

Thanks, and I hope you get to see the Electrical Parade too! They really should just keep it until the end of the year, I think a lot of people would like to see it! :thumbsup2

yay for the updates!!!!! I can't wait till they release the CLP packages!!!

Yeah, when exactly are they going to release those packages??? I thought they usually did in July, they are certainly taking their time with everything this year! :rotfl:

I'm sorry you don't want to see MSEP! :goodvibes I have nothing against Spectro, but like I said, MSEP will remind me of my first Disney trip, so I would love to see it again!

I actually have the Wii Active! My DH has had it since his dad gave him the Wii about a month ago and he never told me he had Wii Active until yesterday! I'm going to try it tonight I think, I like that they have a 30 day challenge, I'm definitely going to do that!

Wii Fit is so much fun, I really like using the balance board, and that's great that there are other games for it too! I'll have to check them out! :)

Aren't the Osborne lights the best? :lovestruc I plan on spending a lot of time looking at them this year, hopefully more than once! Don't worry, I will take lots of pictures! :cool1:

I have nothing against MSEP, it's just that Spectro brings back good memories of being a CM and working with some of the best coworkers I've ever had. Oh well. At least I get to see Boo to You :)

Wii Active does indeed have a 30 day challenge :) I actually can't do the challenge because you can't customize it and there are some exercises that it has you do that I just can't do due to old injuries (the running really bothers my ankle). It is an excellent game, though :) My best friend used it before her knee made her stop working out as intensively and she lost about 15 pounds over about 2 months, I think.

One of the things I like about the Wii Active is that it has "sports" themed activities, like tennis and baseball and volleyball. I LOVE the baseball part. My arms are always sore after it :lmao: The main thing I love about it is that it lets you customize the workout to your heart's content. Like I said above, there are some things I can't do because of old injuries, so I have my own set workouts that I like.

Oh! Word of advice :) Keep the nunchuck pointed straight up in the thigh pouch (so it's parallel to your leg when you're standing straight up). If you don't, it won't read properly when you're doing squats or lunges. :flower3: But yeah, I love the Wii Active. It's really the only workout video I like :lmao:

YAY! I'm so excited about all of your good news! :goodvibes Congratulations on your weight loss! I'm proud of you! You're only three and a half pounds away from another shirt for Disney!

You have to do running in the 30 day challenge? Ugh. I'm not a big fan of running. It hurts my knees...I don't have knee problems (yet :thumbsup2) but I feel like if I try to run I will...is it real running, or running in place like the Wii Fit makes you do? That hurts my calves! :rotfl: It's always something!

I haven't tried the Active yet, yesterday DH and I went for a walk instead, and today, he's sick, so i banished him to "his" room (the room where he plays his video games and has a couch in) so I don't get sick! He has a fever and everything, so if I get sick, not only will I be very unhappy, but I'll have to miss work, and I can't be calling out of work right now, since I need all the money I can get! So I won't be able to do the Active until he's better! :rotfl:

Thanks!!! :goodvibes I've missed you, I was going to text you, but I know you're busy getting used to working again, so I thought I'd give you a few days!

Pretty sure I already know which shirt I want when I hit my 5 pound mark...there are so many cute ones out right now! :cool1:

Yeah, it's running in place :( Whenever I'd try it, I'd usually run in circles, though, because you're not on a pad or anything that you have to stay on. I couldn't do it, though, because you'd do it for what felt like forever and I just can't run that long :(

I hope your DH feels better soon! It sucks being sick :(

Well I'll give it a try whenever I can get into that room! I hate running, I can run for maybe 30 seconds at a time, so we'll see how it goes!

Thanks, I think my DH is feeling better today. He took the day off just to rest and seems ok, but who knows? :confused3 :rotfl:

Just wanted to say hello!! I hope my novel long email didn't bore you!

Hi! NOOOO, you didn't bore me at all, lots of really helpful tips in there, thanks!!! I just haven't gotten a chance to respond, because I have a lot to say about everything and I wanted to be sure I had the time to really sit and think about it! Hopefully I can later tonight when my DH is watching the Red Sox or something! :cool1:
