Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

I think a lot of people need to sleep a day away every once in a while. It seems to happen to me every couple of weeks, but I'm not quite sure why. It might be because of my work schedule. But don't feel guilty about it! Your body must've needed the rest, and that's all that matters ::yes::

Congrats on your weight loss! I think a new shirt is definitely in order.

I love LTT for lunch. It is really, really good! I also think your plan for a Boma breakfast is great. I have never had breakfast there but it is supposed to be wonderful!

I had tons of dreams, especially at Disney that I missed the ADR! Come to find out, because of the dreams, we were First Family of the Day!

I hate it when I sleep a lot on the weekends too! I get so angry at myself because I feel like I'm wasting my free time. But sometimes you just need to catch up on some rest! :)

Haha, what a strange dream! I'm sure it's not a bad sign about your trip. And if that ever did happen at POR I'm sure Disney would make it up to you by upgrading you to WL! ;)

Yeah I guess I just needed to catch up on some sleep, but then today I was useless at work and ended up going home early because I got no sleep last night! Ugh, can't win!!! :confused3

LOL that would be nice to get upgraded to WL for that reason, but that would probably never happen at Disney!

I think we're all just starting to over-analyze our plans!! Must stop one another!!!

I think everything looks great!! Hopefully I'll have some F&W tips for you before you leave!

Congrats on the weight loss!!! You'll get there, I know you will! :lovestruc

I owe you an email tomorrow too, I promise! Today has been terribly long with my LSAT stuff. I'm ready to knock my head against the wall, and I still have two months left to go!

BTW, don't rag on yourself for sleeping today! Like Joni said, sometimes you just need it!

I know, what's been going on lately with everyone changing their plans? I am going to change some stuff soon, but I just have to figure out how I'm going to do it...I'm there for 9 days and I still don't feel like it's enough time!!! :scared1:

Thanks, I'm really excited about losing weight 2 weeks in a row! I haven't exercised in a few days though, I've been so lazy. I have to make myself do something tonight, even if it is 10,000 degrees here!

Don't worry about the email, get back to me when you have the time, I know you're busy! :goodvibes You saw how long it took me to respond, like 3 days!

Don't wish summer away too soon, especially if your winters are anything like ours (I'll take 90 and humid to our winters any day).

I think most people overanalyze their plans at some point (I changed our Biergarten reservation from lunch to dinner yesterday). I think you are going to love POR. Although we've not stayed there, it would be our choice if CSR were not available.

I know, I should really be happy with the warm weather, but I'm just so miserable in it! I'll take cold over hot any day! I live in CT, we have pretty bad winters, but it's just so much easier to get warm than it is to be cool! :)

I'm happy to be staying at POR, I just thought the dream was weird! :rotfl: And I always look for meaning in things, even when I know I shouldn't, sometimes a dream is just a dream, it doesn't always have to mean something!

Well I'm glad that everyone else here seems to have a day where they need to just sleep all day! I felt like I wasted my whole day yesterday, I was so upset when I work up and it was so late!

I don't know how you can function with that work schedule you have, I'd go crazy! (Oh btw, I got your pm about your job, and I'm going to respond, I didn't forget! I've just been busy...and sleeping, apparently!)

Congrats on your weight loss! I think a new shirt is definitely in order.

I love LTT for lunch. It is really, really good! I also think your plan for a Boma breakfast is great. I have never had breakfast there but it is supposed to be wonderful!

Thanks! :goodvibes If I have extra money when I lose my next 5 pounds, I'm definitely getting something different than a shirt, I already know what I want, it's just twice as much as a shirt! But I never buy stuff for myself, so I think I can splurge every now and then!

I can't wait to try LTT, I think it's going to be sooooo good! And I have to find a place to squeeze in Boma, I really want to try it, and I want to see AKL in person! I know I'm going to fall in love with it! :)

I had tons of dreams, especially at Disney that I missed the ADR! Come to find out, because of the dreams, we were First Family of the Day!

Hey, you're back! :goodvibes LOL, I'm glad your Disney dreams actually helped you out! Mine was so weird, I woke up and I was like "***"? :rotfl:

Hey, you're back! :goodvibes LOL, I'm glad your Disney dreams actually helped you out! Mine was so weird, I woke up and I was like "***"? :rotfl:

Yep I am back! LOL! Mine was very real & I woke up very ticked off that we missed our ADR's only to realize we really didn't & that was just a dream!:rotfl:

Well I'm glad that everyone else here seems to have a day where they need to just sleep all day! I felt like I wasted my whole day yesterday, I was so upset when I work up and it was so late!

Well, my work schedule is very strange to begin with. We work twelve hour shifts, yes, but one week, we work 3 days and the next week we work 4 days. The days also rotate. It's confusing to some people, but if you look at a calendar, it's pretty simple. I've gotten used to it, though I've had nine months TO get used to it :lmao: And feel free to PM me whenever you feel like it :) I'm in no hurry :lmao:

Hi! :wave2:

I just found your PTR so I'm going back to read it after I post this!

I read your entire Disneymoon report just now! I will try to remember everything I wanted to comment about but I already forget half of what I wanted to say!

First of all, the thing that stuck out in my mind the most was the Minnie ears!!! I had the same exact problem on my trip! Did you see the black sequin Minnie ears with the red bow in the middle? I saw them EVERYWHERE (not in the stores, but people wearing them!) and I became obsessed with finding them. I asked just about every CM I saw and finally found them in the hat shop right on Main Street at Magic Kingdom! I was sooo excited once I found them! :goodvibes

I LOVED the pictures of you & your husband with Thumper & Miss Bunny!!! They are sooo adorable. I've never seen them out at the parks before! I think its so magical to be in the right place at the right time! I'm so glad you were able to see them! :goodvibes

I loved the pictures of your souvenirs (of course I would comment on the shopping items & remember them the most! :rotfl:) I guess since that was the last part I read, its what stuck out in my mind the most! I loved the ornament you choose! I always buy one on every trip as well. This trip, I bought one for my son (he's 2 yrs old) instead of for myself. Its a T-Rex ornament from Toy Story. Its always sooo hard to choose just one so I completely understand how you normally buy 5!!! :rolleyes1

All of the food pics were great!!! I hope you include more photos on your next trip report because they were all great!!! I really need to try Le Cellier (did you see they just made it a Signature Restaurant?) and I'd also like to try Tony's. I remember when we were there in June, Tony's was absolutely packed full of people!

I totally relate to what your husband said about never going again in May...we went this past June and I will never, ever again go during the summer months! No way! It was soooo hot and humid and the crowds were insane!! I would love to go during the Flower & Garden Festival, but I'll only go if there's a time when the crowds are very low.

Congrats for getting upgraded to Club Level!!! The Beach Club is just amazing!!! We had a private photo session there during our last trip and it was my first time visiting the resort! I would LOVE to stay there someday. The pools looked amazing and I've heard great things about their restaurants. I meant to get dessert at Beaches & Cream but for some reason, we never made it over there.

Is the Monorail shirt the red one with all of the characters on it? I got that one during our trip & have gotten soooo many compliments on it back home. I thought it was odd because I wear Disney stuff all the time and never got compliments before. I liked it because of how the monorail wrapped around the bottom of the shirt (and because I love Chip and Dale!!!)

There were soooo many other things I wanted to comment on but now I forget, of course! I'm going back now to start reading your PTR!!! Can't wait to hear about your plans!!! :goodvibes

This is an update for breaking news:

FREE DINING HAS BEEN EXTENDED TIL 12/21!!!! :cool1:

This is what I've been waiting for...right???? Haven't I been saying all along that if they extended free dining I would switch to POR and not look back with all the money I would be saving???

I just got off the phone with Disney...I did it! I changed my resort to Port Orleans Riverside and added Free Dining!!!! :cool1:  :dance3: :woohoo:

I just read your entire PTR so far! The whole time, I was waiting for the above responses! While reading, I couldn't wait until the day Free Dining was extended!!!

I wrote a bunch of things down so I wouldn't forget anything this time. I hope I don't bore you with my responses! lol

First of all, I know alot of people prefer Spectro over the Electric Parade, but my main reason for liking MSEP is the same as yours! I saw the MSEP when I was 5...on my very first trip to Disney! I have a few memories of the trip here & there but I do remember the Electric Parade. My mom has lots of pictures from it & it was so funny to compare them with this year's parade after returning from our June trip!

I don't blame you for starting to shop already! Originally our trip was planned for December and I started buying things waaaaay ahead of time! I love how you are rewarding yourself after losing weight with a Disney tshirt! That is an awesome idea!!! I love it!

I think your ADR's sound great! I really want to try Fulton's (I am a huge seafood lover!) and Chefs de France! I think I have about a million restaurants I want to try. Luckily for me, DH wants to try the regular dining plan next trip! We had the QSDP this past trip & we both really, really want to eat at all of the "good restaurants"!!! I didn't upgrade to the regular dining plan because I thought DH would be annoyed at rushing around to eat...but it was actually his suggestion to try it next trip! I can't wait!!!

I LOOOOOVE the DVD's that you got!!! I really need to check Amazon and find those! $25 is a great deal for 6 DVD's. I was actually on Amazon the other night looking at the Disney DVD from the History Channel special...not sure why I didn't come across that set! (I did however order some Disney books for my Kindle from Amazon!)

Did you show DH pictures from Toy Story Mania's que area? (I know thats not how you spell que...lol) After he watches TS 1, 2, and 3 and sees pictures of that, maybe he will become more interested in TSM! I know the que area is very interesting & I really want to wait in the stand-by line just to see it & take pics of it! :rotfl:

I know I said this before, but the entire time I was reading through your PTR, I was anticipating the entry where you'd say you added free dining to your ressie!!!! Sooooo excited for you that it was extended!

Some comments on the things you haven't done yet:
Epcot -- Innoventions is a really neat area! Its lots of fun, even for adults, and its such a nice place to relax after rushing around to get to rides & attractions! We also enjoy going into the air conditioning in the Innoventions buildings on hot & humid days!

Do you know about the Disney Visa cardholders picture thing in Innoventions West? You get a free 5x7 photo and get to be in a room with the characters alone. I think there are usually 5 characters! I couldn't find it last trip and was disappointed! There's also the Epcot Picture Spot where Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Mickey, and Minnie are located...we waited over 45 minutes there this trip!

I really liked Universe of Energy. I thought it was interesting & also funny at times. My DH didn't really care for it but he was relieved to get to sit in a cool area for awhile because he was carrying our 2 year old son! We had his stroller with us & he used it the majority of the time, but he went through times where one of us had to carry him.

I never saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience & had it on my list of things to do this past trip but it was under refurb when we went.

Hollywood Studios -- Block Party Bash is alot of fun!!! I really liked it! I suggest standing towards the beginning. Its not like a regular parade that keeps moving...they stop in 3 different areas & do the entire show 3 times. If you stand at the beginning, you get to see the first time around...then run to rides/attractions while other people are still standing there watching BPB!

Also, I am updating my trip report this afternoon. I am on the HS day and am posting tons of pics from Block Party Bash! You are welcome to come over to my Trip Report & look at them if you want!!! :)

Lights, Motor, Action and Studio Backlot Tour are both really good!!! Loved them both & got tons of great photos (again, posting today!)

Animal Kingdom -- I really want to see all the shows you mentioned! I ordered Nemo the Musical from ebay for my son & he loves to watch it, but he's too young to sit through any of the shows. We passed them up this trip but will definitely be watching a few next time around!

I can't believe more people don't like the AK parade. Its one of my favorites! I really like it because its so different from the other parades. Its also very colorful & has some of my favorite characters in it! (I love Turk & Timon!)

Port Orleans looks so nice!!! I'm actually trying to talk my DH into staying at POFQ next trip but I really like Riverside as well, so I'm sure we'll have trouble deciding! I can't wait to read about your trip after you get back so I can see pics of it!

Congrats on adding an extra day & saving money!!!! Not sure if it will work or not for you but I convinced my DH to stay 10 days because I told him that Day 1 and Day 10 were "travel days"! :rotfl: We usually just settle in our first day because we usually can't get an early flight. Our last day, we usually eat breakfast & then leave. Next trip, I'm booking a flight as early as possible & planning a park day!

I love the Disney plaques at Hallmark!!! Now I'm trying to find an excuse to go to our plaza where Hallmark is located today...:rolleyes1

I absolutely :lovestruc that Four Parks CD!!! I got it this past trip! I listen to it every single day!!! I carry it around in my purse (umm...which I will add set off the security alarms at Walmart last week!) I listen to it in the car, while I run on the treadmill, and while I do household chores! I just loooove the CD!!!

I hope I didn't bore you too much with all of my responses! I promise to follow along better now that I'm all caught up! :goodvibes

Have fun with the rest of your planning & congrats for double-digits!!!

Yep I am back! LOL! Mine was very real & I woke up very ticked off that we missed our ADR's only to realize we really didn't & that was just a dream!:rotfl:

LOL I have a few breakfast ADR's this time and I keep thinking "OMG what if we miss one???" :rotfl: Or a dinner ADR if we go back and take a nap! I know it won't be the end of the world and ruin our trip, but I'd be pretty mad, it's hard work organizing everything! :)

Well, my work schedule is very strange to begin with. We work twelve hour shifts, yes, but one week, we work 3 days and the next week we work 4 days. The days also rotate. I really don't know if I could do your work schedule, although I'm sure you get used to it! It would be nice to work 3 days in the week...I'm constantly saying that a 5 day work week is too much, I wish it was normal to work 4 days then have a 3 day weekend. Ugh don't even get me started!!! :sad2:

Hi, and :welcome:! Thanks for reading my TR, I'm always so happy when people are still discovering it, even though I finished it so long ago! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :cool1:

I did see that Le Cellier is going to be 2 credits next year. That's ridiculous. I might just have to stick to lunch there now, instead of dinner. No big deal, last November we had lunch there and it was just as good as dinner!

The monorail shirt I wanted was the one that says the the whole monorail welcome message in Spanish that you hear when you get on the monorail, it's gray with a red picture of the monorail on it...it's really cute, but my DH refuses to get it! I'm buying it for him when we go in November, and he's wearing it! :rotfl2:

Isn't BC beautiful? :lovestruc I love it but I doubt I'll get to stay there again anytime soon. :( It just happened to work out that we were only staying 5 nights and we got 40% off the room rate...if we were going to stay any longer we would have never been able to afford it! Being upgraded to club level was amazing!!! :wizard:

Hi again! I can't believe you read my whole PTR already! :rotfl: I see that you have a TR, I'm definitely going to read it, probably not tonight since it's getting kind of late, but I will! :)

I hope you get to do the regular dining plan your next trip! Our first time with the dining plan was last November and now I can't imagine going to WDW without it! I can't wait to try Chef's, Fulton's I'm sure will be good, but that's more my DH's choice, not mine! :confused3 :lmao:

And don't worry, I made my DH watch all 3 Toy Stories and he loved them, especially 3, so now he knows how important it is to do TSM! I can't wait!!! :dance3:

You definitely have to get the DVD's...they are SO good, I just watched 2 of them again over the weekend while I was cleaning! I think if you just do a search for Disney Parks DVD's it should come up on amazon!

Thanks for your input on all the attractions I have not done yet! I'm definitely going to check some of them out, but not everything, I like that there are still things I have not done at WDW and this will be my 8th trip this November! I love that there are constantly new things to do! :)

I'm obsessed with my Four Parks CD's! Especially the Splash Mountain song...it's just such a happy song, and it's so Disney, I love it! I listen to the CD's almost every day on my way to work now! :)

You definitely did not bore me, I liked reading everything you had to say, I'm happy you read my whole PTR, I hope it wasn't too boring all at once! :rotfl:

I really don't know if I could do your work schedule, although I'm sure you get used to it! It would be nice to work 3 days in the week...I'm constantly saying that a 5 day work week is too much, I wish it was normal to work 4 days then have a 3 day weekend. Ugh don't even get me started!!! :sad2:

They're 12 hour shifts, though, so they're usually not in a row. For example, this week, I was off Sunday, worked Monday and Tuesday, off today and tomorrow, work Friday and Saturday. Next week, it swaps, so I'm working Sunday, off Monday and Tuesday, working Wednesday and Thursday, and off Friday and Saturday.

I used to work that same exact schedule!

Oh it was fun. I was a dispatcher for the sheriffs office.

That had to at least be busier than what I do. I'm night shift and we're mainly there in case of emergency, so it's actually VERY boring most of the time. I'm so glad Netflix offers instant streaming on the computer :lmao:

We had very boring nights, but those were few & far between. :lmao: We had no time for Netflix at all!

We have evening medications, which are passed from about 8-9 (sometimes 7:30-9 if we start early), then one med at 12am, and then nothing until 6am. We also do resident laundry, which normally doesn't take more than a couple hours. So, yeah, not much to do except in case of emergency :lmao:

Oh we had from the very stupid phone calls (my neighbor mowed my lawn & I want to press charges for tresspassing) to very serious (homicide). It was never a dull moment!
