Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

Hooray for switching your flight!!

And OMG, I LOVE that "If you can dream it, you can do it" sign! That is one of my all-time favorite Disney quotes and I think it would be so great to use that in my classroom. Must find that plaque!

I love your plaque :teeth: The other three quotes from Walt that I love are "It's kind of fun to do the impossible" (engraved on my iPod), "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them", and "You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you" (wallpaper on my iPod with a green background).

Also, where did your DH find the parks CD's? I want them! :lovestruc

I'm so happy we're going earlier! :cool1: I'm hoping our room is ready, since we are going at a slow time and since POR is so big, I think it probably will be! Did you do online check in when you went in January?

No, we didn't do on-line check in! I think that would probably help your chances even more, though! :thumbsup2

And great ideas about kick-starting the weight loss! I think the switch to Splenda is going to be a big help! And what an adorable plaque! I want one!

i soooooooooooo need that plaque!!! I have a cute one above my bed that says "Dance like no one's watching, Sing like no one's listening"

I have the CD and LOVE IT!! I wish the included some of the older parade songs/fireworks songs and the resort loop that they play!

I think it's great that you have made a plan for yourself! And it sounds like you're being very sensible about it, rather than doing something like a crash diet! I think you are going to do great!

I love your sign! :lovestruc That is such a great idea to motivate you! I need to go to our Hallmark store and see if they sell them...:rolleyes1

I have to have those CDs! I have some Disney CDs that I got at the Virgin Megastore in DTD when it was open, but they have mostly music from the movies, not the parks. I am definitely going to get those! :goodvibes

Isn't that sign adorable? You should definitely see if you can find them, I already saw them at 2 Hallmark's, so I think most should have them!

The CD's are so amazing! They really make you feel like you are on the attraction! I love the Splash Mountain song, and Soarin! And of course, the Haunted Mansion theme! And the Canada song! :cool1:

I love that quote too, there were so many that I liked, but that one just stood out to me! I think I want the Peter Pan one next, the one that says "Faith, Trust, and a little bit of pixie dust"! I love that! :lovestruc

I'm pretty sure they had the Impossible quote on a plaque too, they had a few Walt quotes, and then they had some from Disney movies! They had lots of Winnie the Pooh and Cinderella quotes too! And they have all different sizes...which is why I want them all! :rotfl:

My DH got the CD's from disneystore.com, but I'm pretty sure they have them on amazon too. You have to get the CD's, they are great! I'm going to bring them to work tomorrow! :cool1:

I hope Splenda makes a difference! I drink a huge cup of tea in the morning, and I use like 4 huge spoonfuls of sugar, so that should cut down on some calories!

You should definitely get a plaque, they are so cute!! I almost started screaming in Hallmark when I saw them yesterday, I was so excited! :rotfl:

LOL, I knew you guys would like that plaque, only true Disney freaks can appreciate it! :cool1:

Isn't that the best CD ever? I don't know what took me so long to get a CD from the parks, but I'm glad I did finally! I wish they had music from the resorts too, I love the music they play in WL! :lovestruc

haha, I went on ebay last night just to see if I could find them and saw the Faith, Trust, and Pixie dust one. I think I want that one too! Needless to say I think I may be going to the Hallmark store today to see if they have them. I've been wanting to see the keepsake ornaments anyways. :rotfl:

Love, love, LOVE the plaque!! It's such great motivation, too. I'm convinced I need to head over to Hallmark after work to see all the different plaques they have. Very cool.

Congrats on saving money and switching your tickets. That's awesome! Oh, and using Southwest credit is really easy. You have one year from the original purchase date to use it. When you book a new ticket, there is a payment option to enter SWA travel funds (your credit). You then enter in the confirmation number and they automatically apply what credit you have to the final amount. I've become a pro -- since I've rebooked our fare twice now. :surfweb:

I love having Disney park music on my iPod. The best track I've found so far was the full Haunted Mansion ride audio! :lovestruc Have you ever listened to any of the Disney stations on Live365? It's the BEST!!! They have ride audio, movie soundtracks, resort music, etc... My favorite stations are DIS Radio and Mouse House Radio. Love!

congrats on the earlier flights and the savings. Your refund will go into an account with your original flight confirmation number. You have to use up those funds within one year of the original booking date. So - that means you have to book another flight within the year. Southwest knows how to keep you coming back. what I have learned to do is book my hardest to get flight first (Sat/Sun flights for example). Then when it drops in price I rebook and take the credit to buy my less expensive, more available flight (Thursday night for example). This works really well for me since I tend to take shorter trips and fly home mid week at night.

So you are giving up your lean cuisines? Whole wheat pasta is great. Yum once you get used to the taste. I love it with pesto sauce. To make my lean cuisines last longer (and get me full) I add a ton of vegetables to them - usually green beans or broccoli. Then it feels like I am eating more.

I really love the Pixie Dust one...they had it at the first Hallmark I saw them in, but they didn't have it at the 2nd one. I'm definitely going to have to get it sooner or later! I haven't seen any ornaments in Hallmark yet!

Did you go to Hallmark yet? :rotfl: When I have some extra money I'm buying a few more!

I asked the Transportation board about SW credits and they told me how to use them, it seems pretty simple! I told my DH we have to use them before June of next year and mentioned something about a quick trip to Disneyland and he said "maybe" so...we'll see!!! :rotfl:

I haven't listend to any Disney stations on Live 365, I had it on my Iphone for a while because they have an app, but I got rid of it because I couldn't find any good Disney stations! I listen to one station on my computer a lot, dtuneslive.com. They have everything! I like it because it plays music from the resorts! :woohoo:

Thanks, I'm so happy we're going earlier, more Disney time! And I'm definitely trying to talk my DH into another trip within the year, but who knows? At first when I mentioned a quick trip to DLR he said maybe, but then I mentioned it again and told me I was out of my mind! :confused3 :rotfl:

I do like whole wheat pasta, I used to eat it all the time back when I was healthy :rotfl: but lately I've been eating regular pasta. I'm not a big vegetable person, or I would do what you do with Lean Cuisines! They just don't fill me up for very long and they are full of sodium, which I'm trying to cut down on! It's too bad, because some of them are SOOOO good! But I didn't even buy any this week, so I'm forced to make my pasta and bring it to work! :)

I actually wanted to suggest that if you're trying to lose weight (for anyone, really), stay away from frozen or instant food. They're usually packed so full of sodium that you get half or more of your daily recommended amount of sodium just with that one meal. Did you know that in a cup of ramen, there's over 1000mg of sodium? But yeah, sodium isn't good in levels that high, especially if you're trying to lose weight, since it makes you retain water.

That's exactly why I'm giving up Lean Cuisines, they taste good and they save a lot of time, but I should really not be eating a lot of white pasta or a lot of sodium! I'm not diabetic or anything, but my mom is, and I just don't want to risk it! And I know sodium not only makes you retain water, it's bad for your heart, so I seriously need to get healthy and in shape! I don't want to just lose weight to look good, I want to be healthy and feel good too!

I've been taking walks on my break at work for the past 2 days, so that's good! Don't know how tomorrow is gonna go, it's supposed to be hot and humid again, so we'll see! :confused3 And I made my whole wheat pasta to bring to work already tomorrow so I'm doing pretty good this week so far! We'll see what the scale tells me on Saturday! :rolleyes1

Yeah, it sucks that they have so much sodium in them. I think it's totally misleading that companies say that their frozen meals are so healthy, but they're really not when you look at the packaging. But they're so easy to make :guilty: When I was working at a grocery store, I usually didn't have much money, so if I didn't bring a lunch, I'd either buy a cheap frozen dinner or go to the deli and get just enough lunch meat for a sandwich and then grab a roll from the bakery :lmao:

If you can, I'd suggest maybe making meals ahead of time and putting them in the fridge until you take them to work. Like casseroles or soups and stews, you know? When I was working for Disney, I'd make things ahead of time and put them away in tupperware so I could just grab it and go. This afternoon, I made homemade macaroni and cheese (probably not healthy, but omg so good) and had some for dinner, then brought the leftovers with me to work. There was enough for my parents and I to have dinner and me to bring the rest to work for my break. I also brought a tupperware of grapes instead of the chips my dad brought home :3dglasses

I think it is so funny you still ask Brandon his opinion on resorts or switching flights. Why bother? He seems to agree to pretty much whatever you choose. It will be nice to have an earlier flight. It really stinks he works at night though and will have to wake up earlier. Hopefully he can sleep on the plane.

Glad to hear your diet is going better. You are much better off eating ww pasta than lean cuisines. It seems like you get much more food that way. Have you tried the Ronzoni smart taste? It is white pasta with added fiber and calcium. It is as good as regular pasta but has 7 grams of fiber per serving. It is on sale at SR this week:)

Anyway, I'll probably see you tonight. Caitlin is asking to come over to watch the Alice in Wonderland movie.

Just dropping in to say hi, Jen. Hope you are doing well. I agree about the Lean Cuisines -- too much pasta and sodium.

I agree, frozen meals are really not that great for you, they're just such a great time saver! :confused3 But I did good this week, I made myself whole wheat pasta twice this week and brought it to work and didn't eat one Lean Cuisine! We'll see what happens when I weigh myself tomorrow morning!

I don't know why I bother asking Brandon anytime I switch anything, I should at least try to involve him! I'm sure he will sleep on the plane, he can sleep anywhere, I'm the one who can't sleep on planes, not him. :confused3

Hi! I'm doing ok, how are you? I admit, I do miss my Lean Cuisines a little at work, but I do feel a lot more full after I eat whole wheat pasta so I guess that's good! I just hope it all pays off tomorrow when I weigh myself!!! :wizard:

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great week, I'm sooooo happy it's Friday :dance3:, it's been a long, stressful week at work and I'm glad it's over!!!

Just a quick update, remember the shirt I said I wanted at the Disney Store last weekend but they didn't have my size? Well I decided to order it online and I got it yesterday, and I wanted to show you all, because I think it's SO cute:

:lovestruc

Isn't it adorable? I had to make sure I got it now, while it's still around, because who knows if it will be available by November! I'm not buying another shirt for myself until I lose 5 pounds though, as my reward! :rotfl: I just couldn't pass this one up!

LOVE the shirt. I saw that last weekend when we were at Woodfield.
