I seem to recall that my last add-on which I did while at WDW had a few extra $$ incentive than the incentives on DVCNews.com......am I imagining that was true or is that standard practice.

If so, does anyone know if those extra incentives are going on right now....my fuzzy memory says they were $2 per point extra.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to go in and see my guide while I"m there next weekend.

Thanks!

You are not imagining it. There have been times where they were giving an extra few dollars to those who bought on site during promotions.

When I went to the DVC presentation at BLT this summer, I believe that the incentives were $2 more for those that we buying more than 100 points.

Excellent!! The possibility of this is enough for me to make an appointment this trip :)

I have heard that they do offer a few dollars off a point sometimes.

When we were there in December they offered us the same incentives for being
there that we could have gotten from home calling our rep.
I hate how they make you feel like it's a "just for you for being here special" when we knew better.

This is a topic that really frosts my hide. Did you know that the price varies depending on who you Guide is and where they work?

Off-Site Sales Locations, Cruises, Preview Center, Tele-Marketing Guides, have all offered different incentives in the past.

I had a meeting with a DVD upper manager a couple of yours ago when I found out that our incentives for our AKV purchase were less because of our Guide. If we had purchased at the Preview Center or while on a cruise, we would have gotten a better deal. I was told that upper management decides where they want to provide extra incentives based on the units sales and that there was nothing that they could do. :sad2:

This is big reason (other than cost) that we are adding on from resale! Tired of fooling around with their incentive game.

I think they often offer these as we have rebooked on board the Magic because it was too good to pass up and we booked a year out.

We are going to go speak to our Guide tomorrow, from the message that he left on our phone, it looks like there is about at 2.00 extra incentive, to buy while on property. But we were talking about Saratoga so who knows if this is across the board for all resorts. I guess I'll know more tomorrow.:hippie:

We ended up adding on at SSR.. the incentive we were given was 100 pts,-20.00 500 Visa card ( not Disney gift Card). not much of an incentive... really. :hippie:
