On a search for a healthier me.

I love doing yoga now.
I can't remember which video I just got, being my lazy self I'm too tired to go see.
But I'll edit the post when I put it in later about which video it is.
I got it at Target for $15.
 
Ally, How long have you been doing yoga?
And can you do like Bakasana and things like that?

Just wondering, I was looking on yogajournal and at poses, thought they cool, and wondered if you could do them.

Anyways, the video is Gaiam, Yoga for beginners.
I'm attached to it, and I'm gonna make sure I still do it when I go to school.
I'm gonna get another one in a couple weeks after I get used to this one.
The food lately, hasn't been so good, but today was much better.
I ate a little bit all day, and we're having dinner later.

Last night I was working at a concession stand and got some mountain dew, before I realized that's not what the person ordered.
So I picked it up and just drank a couple sips of it, before I noticed it was soda.
So I gave it to my friend and got some water. I would've been fine drinking it, but the water was much better.
I think in about a week or 2, it'll be two months since I've had a but a few sips of soda. I'm happy. (:

Oh, and Hilary, you said you were giving up soda too I believe.
I can't exactly remember, but how is that going?
 
Yesterday i was walking around for about 5 hours,and i went swimming in my pool for an hour.
 
Today I went to Six Flags... so I did a lottt of walking.
Tomorrow I'll probably run. Our pool gets cleaned on Fridays, so it'll either be really dirty (before it gets cleaned) or really chemical-y. Yuck.

It's going good I guess.
I'm not giving it up completely, but I'm limiting myself.
I've had my soda for the week, a bit too much I think.
So starting tomorrow, no more for a few more weeks.

Blah, I need to start running, but I really don't like running out in my neighborhood and we don't have a treadmill.
I think I just need to start biking again.
I'm just doing yoga really and eating better.
I need to start doing pushups and stuff.

I wish i could say that...I had to have a few sodas to kill a migraine. Diet Coke is the only thing other then pills that knock me out that works...Today i was lazy. I woke up not feeling to hot so i just relaxed all day

I gave up soda back in January and I can honestly say I've only had a few sips since then. I've gotten soda in two places, but after a few sips I threw it away. It was the only thing to drink, I tried it, and the carbonation was just too much for me. It burned my throat/upset my stomach. So now I definitely don't have a problem not drinking soda. I'll have a sip or two if I'm in the car with my parents and they have a soda and I'm thirsty and it's the only thing to drink. For almost 7 months without soda, I'd say that it's pretty good!
So yeah. Going without soda it totally possible. After a while it just becomes second nature to get something else to drink.

I used to get horrible headaches when I tried quitting, so I gave up.
I'd go for about a week or two and I couldn't handle the headaches so I get back on it.
I tried quitting a couple times and eventually when I quit again back in June I guess my body got used to be not having it for long periods of time and I never got a headache again.

It's great you're only having a few though!
I hope your headaches go away. :hug:

That's almost the same as me, now when I try to drink soda it'll burn my mouth and I won't feel very good.
Usually I'll just have a few sips without even realizing I'm drinking it but when I do, I throw it away and find water.

::yes:: Now when I'm at a resturant or open the fridge I instantly get water without thinking.
 
I feel like i am doing a lot to be healthier,but it doesn't seem like it by my weight,like i don't think i have lost weight.:confused3
 
I wouldn't worry about it.
I weighed myself today and have only lost a pound since I started this thread.
But I feel a lot better than I used to.
I haven't been exercising much until this week so I'm hoping that'll help me lose some of this fat.

And you might be gaining muscle.

Oh! My mom is picking me up another yoga video tonight.
Yay.
 
Today i didn't do any exercising but i went to the mall from 11:30-2:30 with my cousin and we were walking around a lot.

I've been doing yoga for about 4 years.
And yes, I can do bakasana!
I looooovveee it, it's really amazing and pretty easy once you learn it.
I can do scorpion too, but that took a while to do, just cause I was really nervous about falling on my face and like.. breaking my neck and stuff.

I have a few clothes from there though, and a yoga mat.

I got these new cds with really relaxing music that I now use while doing yoga.
 
I have these pauseandplay music.
Yoga/Glow and World/Native spirit are the ones I listen to the most.
I think the world one is my favorite.
It's Native American flue and guitar sounds.
Very relaxing.

Anyways I need to start riding my bike again.

Everything is going fine with me. Food, exercise, all is good.
To quit drinking soda is probably one of the best things I've done.
I'm much more energetic during the day and I feel better. I can't get over how awesome I feel. xD
Hopefully I'll be keeping up with this during the school year.
 
So it's been about a week and I lost 4 pounds!!
Woah, I was really shocked but really happy.
I hope that's healthy...I've been eating enough I know.
