Purchasing and Booking LL from UK

We have a bit of a tangled mess! I’m in Canada, and my brother is in the UK, we are planning a trip to Disney in April. As a UK resident, he can purchase 14 day tickets, and he will purchase one for me also. Apparently, there is no restriction to this, only that it must be purchased using a UK card.

So having said that, we are now reading that he cannot purchase or book LL until he arrives in the U.S. but I’ve read some reports that say this was done away with for international visitors, while the Disney site still has it as applicable. So totally confused now. Anyone know if it has been “corrected” for international visitor? If not, as a Canadian, would I be able to log into the app and purchase LL for my whole party, including the British?

What you are talking about is two different things.

1. Anyone can buy the 14 day tickets from anywhere, as they are not geo locked. Geo locking is not allowed in Europe, if something is available to buy for one country, it must by EU law be available to all countries. Even though UK is no longer part of EU, they still follow this EU rule.

2. The issue with buying LL is a Disney issue. Disney have geo locked this function. The booking of the LL is restricted to a device which is physically in USA and Canada. If a UK person was in the USA 7 days before their WDW trip, they can book LL at the same time as everyone else.
So to answer your question, if you log into their My Disney account from Canada, then you will be able to book the LL for them the same time as the LL booking opens for you.

This is incorrect. The issue with MDE and purchasing LL outside the US was corrected maybe a year ago.

OP -- either you or your brother can purchase LLs 7 days prior to your check-in date assuming you are staying at an onsite WDW resort, or 3 days prior if staying offiste.

Technically i think the literature still states that it is only available to the US but its not in practice anymore.
