OMG, I got picked for Car Survivor!!!

OMG, I just got a call from the Brevard County Manatees, I've been selected for Car Survivor. I posted last week asking for help for my entry and thanks to all the DISer's who helped me. Now Thursday I'll go for the rules/regulations/etc and then it would start Monday. He said there was 7 of us going Thursday, and 5 would be put in the car, wish me luck! Now on to see how to get someone to help me with the girls for the time I'll be in the car!

That is so great!! I have been checking to see if you had posted anythiong and here it is! If you do get picked, let us know, also find out if they will have a web-cam so we can take a look. They had one at the event my DH was in, and it was so nice to be able to look and see how he was doing.

How long do you think this could last? I'm trying to make plans for someone to watch the girls. Days, weeks? These are the rules...

Five people in the car to start, last one in wins the car
Breaks every six hours for fifteen minutes
Water is supplied by the Manatees Baseball team
Food/Snacks/Etc supplied by your family and friends
You can bring things into the car (I'm thinking fan, mister, pillow, etc)

I was thinking I would have someone bring my clothes to change into (keep my cooler in fresh clothes)
Maybe take some of grandma's ditropan..lol!
DFiance works next to the stadium so he could visit me on breaks, before and after work, etc.

I've got GREAT will power, I'm just hoping the others don't..lol!

Any other ideas?

Car Survivor is a contest the Brevard County Manatees are running. They are giving away a Geo Metro to the person who can sit in the car the longest (outside, under a canopy in the middle of the ball stadium).

that sounds like a cake walk! you have to SIT in a geo metro (um - 5 of you? OD on deoderant - maybe even some super stinky perfume - they won't want to sit in the car with you! heheh) with breaks every 6 hours? can you sleep? can your butt leave the seat (like to stretch?) if so - easy peasy!

I mean - it's not like you are standing in the heat with your hand on a car...if you remove your hand, you lose. You're SITTING in the SHADE! hehehe.

Congrats and lots of luck to you. One suggestion, YOU may be thinking about your personal hygiene but others may not. Perhaps you could bring a facial mask that prevents unpleasant odors from invading your space.

That or you could eat a bowl of chili some pickled eggs and a helping of saurkraut before the competition!!

If the car you win is the one they use for the contest, I hope it doesn't have "THE SMELL" in it like that episode of Seinfeld. (j/k)

I would plan childcare for a week. Yes, a week! In our area, they did a similiar thing, and after one week there were still four people. I think they started with seven, and went down to four.

After one week, the four were put in a drawing. And only one won the car, and three other won decent prizes.

I found an article that came out last week about the contest....
Car Survivor , it gives more info on exactly what will be going on, etc... yikes, I'm such a shy person I don't know if I'll have the nerves to get up infront of all the people in the stadium.... (legs shaking).
