OMG... Dana Reeves died

Christopher Reeve was scheduled to speak at our conference last March but sadly passed away before it could happen. His wonderful wife Dana came in his place and gave the most heartwarming, funny, charming talk. We had so looked forward to hearing Mr. Reeve but were so charmed by Dana. We really enjoyed her! If you get a chance, read her book. She shared some of the stories. There is one about a letter from a young boy, it's a classic-I'm not articulate enough to relate it, you'll have to read the book, but I promise you'll enjoy it!

That is just so sad. How hard for their son, Will. But I bet there was a wonderful reunion between her and Chris in heaven today!

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!! :furious: Tell me what possible thing you can come up with to make fun of someone who lost BOTH of their parents so quickly or even at all.

This is just about the most awful thing I have ever heard.

About Dana Reeve, man that just stinks.

So you all know, there was a boy that used to torture me in Jr high mostly, but he was no walk in the park in high school either. When my mom passed away in my sophmore year, he wrote a note on the card the class sent that he was sorry for my loss. I moved away and never saw him again, but I like to think he would have left me alone if I had stayed.

Very sad but not unexpected. Lung cancer cures have been elusive since my Dad died of it in 1976. My dad unfortunately was a smoker. I understand that Dana Reeves was not.

One in 5 women diagnosed with lung cancer have NEVER lit a cigarette.

So sad, so young. She leaves her 13 year old son, Will. :guilty:

I had these on a different one, thought would be nice here too.........

So very sad.

Oh my, that is so sad :( I can't imagine how it must feel for their 13 year old son. To lose both his parents in such a short span of time and at such a very young age too. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dana's family. Such a sad thing to happen. Cancer can be such a quick and brutal killer :(

I am so upset. I saw her as my role model when I was diagnosed last month with Lung Cancer, life long non smoker. I thought I was just like her. I am so stunned and about ready to come apart at the seams. My surgery is one week from today. I am beyond words. I know my DD20 and DS17 will hear about this. I promised them I would NOT die from this.

:(

I liked her, I was really hoping she would beat it. Very sad.

My prayers are with you too. Hang in there :grouphug:

Just so unfair for Dana and Chris - their poor son.

My sympathies to the family.

And let's show some respect for them- her name was not Reeves, it was Reeve.

Dana Reeve left her mark on this world. I found her boundless courage, strength, and love a bright spot.
She was a remarkable contemporary woman.
She will be sorely missed upon this earth.

May God be with her family and friends to comfort them.

:grouphug: Best wishes to you for a healthy recovery. We are here for you if you need us.

I have a friend at work who was widowed about 4 years ago, when her kids were 14 and 11. I popped into her office this morning and she was staring at her computer screen in tears, having just read about Dana's death. She said that was her worst fear in the world, coming true (having something happen to her that would leave her kids orphans).

I think everyone should give their favorite single parent a hug today. :grouphug:
