Hi Robyn!! Just wanted to wish you a great trip! I so wish I was going to WDW...we got spoiled going 2 years in a row. I'll be thinking of all of you at the DIS meet. That was so much fun back in August 2010! I unfortunately didn't get to see Teena last August, but we did get to see Pete. We often talk about our WDW vacations from both the BC and YC. Great CMs! I don't know if you caught my post from a couple of weeks ago but my family is headed to southern CA to visit with my brother-in-law's family this August so we are going to DLR (our first time)...so at least it's Disney!!

I'm looking forward to hearing how you like RP Resort. I couldn't get a room there last year so we booked HRH. We liked it but the pool was kinda disappointing...too shallow to swim around! You can't beat being on site there for FOTL! We enjoyed it so much more than when we went to Universal back in 2005! If you have some time check out the outdoor bar across from Margaritaville (by the water/plane) for Happy hour (1/2 price margaritas for something like 3.65!!).

We've talked about doing the big California trip - Disney, San Diego and San Fransisco but haven't been able to pull ourselves away from WDW yet. Soon though.

We haven't been to Universal since 2006 so it is exciting. I wanted to go back to HRH, Dh wanted to try Portofino but the kids wanted RP (and it was the least expensive!). Can't wait to see how we like it.

DH will be thrilled to hear about the 1/2 price margaritas! I think his favorite place in all of Disney is the margarita bar in DTD!

I can only check in on the boards sporadically today (DH is STILL not packed!).

How well does a roll away fit in a room at the BC? We will have 3 kids along with 2 adults in one room. We have requested a day bed and I am wondering whether it is worthwhile at check in to ask for a roll away as well so the kids have their own bed. Thanks!

The rooms are all different sizes and configurations at the BC. You should wait until you get into the room to see if one would fit well and it's something you can live with. There are some rooms that IMO would not fit a rollaway in at all. Then there are others that it would be no problem fitting in. My advice is to just wait and see your room and if you think one would fit fine, call housekeeping from your room after you get into your room and ask for one to be sent up.

I am preparing for my "virtual trip" to Disney today, along with a few friends. Hopefully we will make it in time!

BTW- who is taking pictures??? Last year kldmom2000 and her family did a great job.

Teena's only camera is on her cell. Have you gone digital yet???

I'll try to remember to pack it. I never take it anywhere but on trips. I use Onstar in my car to call people if I need to.

I am joining the group! We are staying at Yacht Club gv 10/26 -11/3. So excited it is my four year old ds first trip.

One thing that was a must for us this trip is San angel inn. We are doing lunch. As a child I always wanted to eat there and sit by the water and watch the boat goes by. Is there tables for 4 along the railing?

We check into YC the day after you. I'll keep my eyes open for a very excited 4-year old.

And after much deliberation, we decided on the following.
(Remember my dillema yesterday? BC-SV-CL or YC-GV-CL?)

In the end, I would love to try YC someday, but I've had my heart set on BC for several years now, and I think I'd spend my whole time at YC wondering what would have happened if I'd stayed at the BC....

So....I'm digging a little rotfl deeper into the funds, and we upgraded to BC-CL-LV!!!

Yes, it's a bit more money, but the extra money is worth the piece of mind to know I'm going to stay at the resort I want to stay at, with a spectacular view!

So excited!!!

Scott, Good choice! I actually was wondering last night what you ended up doing.

We are huge YC fans, but did not want to chime in to say "go to YC" because I feel strongly that the "right" Disney resort choice is to follow what will make you happiest. I hope you love it and that you get a chance to try YC in the future.

Remember to take a zillion pictures of the view!

Great choice! You'll be so happy there. I recently had to do something similar- we were booked for CSR for our August trip, but after a brief weekend visit w/ my sister BC (and the idea planted by Teena when I met her in the lobby!), I knew I wanted to figure out a way to move the August trip to BC. As if just the move to BC wasn't a big enough price increase, there were no standard or garden views available. So I had to dig waaaay deeper, because at that point, I just knew I had to be at BC!

Speaking of August...I seem to remember reading something about the BC fitness room being refurbished in August, but now I can't find the info. Does anyone know about a fitness center closure? Thanks!

I was hoping to switch my WL reservation to BC (or at least do a split stay) when the passholder rates came out for September, but the rates were the same as the general public discount and all that was left were CL rooms, so I don't think we are going to be returning to BC this year. I cant really complain because we do love WL and were able to get 35% off with the BB offer when all other discounts for WL are 5-10%. The good news is that we will be back in March and hope to return to the BC. I'll certainly be lurking around this thread until then Thanks so much for maintaining this fabulous thread, Dee, and thank you, Teena, for sharing your wealth of information!
