Thinking of switching from BWI to Yacht or Beach Club/ BCV but can't decide on which one! I've stayed at YC twice and love it + it's the same price as what BC would be and BCV would be a tad cheaper.

Any thoughts?? It would be for 2 nights either way it would be a standard room or studio villa .

Thanks!!

Only you can decide between the YC and BC- which theme do you prefer? How important is a guaranteed balcony to you? Which amenities/restaurants do you prefer?

As for the BCV, I guess it depends on how "slight" the difference is. If it is indeed slight by your standards, then I would go for the actual resort. Nicer room decor and closer to everything!

Couchy,

What time did you go to the fitness center each morning? Was it crowded? I was planning to hit the gym in the mornings on our trip in October and was wondering what it was like in the early AM.

Thanks.:)

Thanks! I'm leaning towards a Standard room at BC since I haven't stayed there and hopefully request a full balcony although its only for two nights and I won't be in the room that much so I might not even worry about that. Thanks for the helps!!!

Personally, if you are talking about YC or BC versus a studio at BCV, either the YC or BC wins hands down. I personally love the rooms much better at the "hotel" versus the villas. However, if you are talking YC or BC versus a one bedroom villa at the BCV, I'd go with BCV!!!

Keep in mind at the BC or YC if you book a standard view, your view will be either a parking lot or a roof. For only a few dollars more per night (usually under $10), you can book a garden view so at least you will be looking at something green. I never care about it being a roof or parking lot since we are never in the room except to change clothes, shower or sleep but the view is important to some people. Also, if you want a full balcony (again, I could care less), you should request one at the BC since half the balconies are standing balconies only.

Ordered my groceries yesterday!!!!:thumbsup2

Now just waiting for my Mickey mail:dance3:

I can't wait to be sitting at Stormalong bay!!!!:beach:

Me too. I can't wait to get Jeanne and Lily to SAB!!!

Princess Lily now wants to be outside whenever it is light out. Mind you, it's over 100 in the shade in Vegas. So Jeanne sent me a video last night. It was sooo hot there and she was screaming to go out, so they took her baby bathtub into the front yard, filled it with water, put on a swim diaper and let her at it. She waved to the cars and had a ball. Jeanne said the whole neighborhood was laughing at her. Hopefully somebody will give her one of those small pools for her birthday next week.

I was worried about her and the heat and humidity at WDW. Guess I'll only have to worry about her Mom since Jeanne says Lily doesn't care what the temps are as long as she is one with nature!

Sweet story! She must have been adorable waving.
It must be Stormalong Bay Friday, I'm thinking of it too. :beach:

Yes. A 20k is 12.4 miles. Almost a half marathon, which is 13+. I'm a little nervous and had to get coaxed into signing up with DH. He has done it before. I run almost every day and once a week I do 8-10 so I should be able to do it. I just want to finish... Not really worried about my time, but DH thinks I can do it in under two hours. Not sure about that because I average 10 minute miles on my long runs, but can do a 5k in under 26 minutes. :confused3 we shall see. That's why I need to at least run a little while in WDW and the area around BC looks like a great route!

I think you'll surprise yourself and do it with ease. Sounds like you're doing pretty good already. I want to take advantage of the BC/YC route too, so I really need to get myself back into running shape.

Ok so I have been back for 24 hours and I wanted to reflect and let everyone know some thoughts I had about our first BC stay:goodvibes

It was DH and myself . We are a mid thirties couple that loves WDW. Well I love WDW and DH is coming around, especially after staying at BC. We loved it.

From the moment we arrived we were immersed in an atmosphere that is amazing and hard to put in words . This was to be a relaxing type trip aNd it was:)
DH loves TSM so we went to DHS at RD and did TSM and sometimes added a few other rides. We then would spend the day at SAB before showering and going to dinner or a stroll around the WS

SAB was amazing. DH was worried about it being loud and overrun with kids but there were so many small nooks and crannies to hang out in we loved it. The sand bottom pools were fantastic and the lazy river ohhh the lazy river rocked:cool1: Rocky one of the pool bar waitresses was so attentive and she was so friendly and Dh liked that she remembered his drink from the first one he ordered on day one:rolleyes:
We ate at beaches and cream a few times and it is such a fun place... Plus it played into my ice cream addiction. ( that and the fact that Mickey bars were readily available at HH):cool2:
We had a fabulous meal at the Yachtsman. The filet was perfect and Oscar our server was wonderful.
We also ate at CA Grill for some sushi:thumbsup2 and Via Napoli for the pizza which DH can't get enough of.

I used the fitness center every morning and was pleasantly surprised with how nice it was. Also the lockers came in handy on check out day.

We had a GV room and had a lovely view of the courtyard and could also see the water. In fact we joked because we could watch the movie on the beach from our balcony which we spent lots of time on at night .

The service here was top notch. The CMs were so friendly and of course we met Teena which was so nice to do. We had a little chat and now DH wants to go to a dude ranch:lmao: I told him as long as it doesn't interfere with trips back to the BC .
We lovedd our stay and decided it was one of our absolute favorite vacations ever. We want to thank everyone on this thread for all the tips and info. We have a 3 night trip planned for FWF in november. Can't wait to go back

Thanks for the summary and all your daily updates. I really enjoyed reading. I'm going to have to look for Rocky...since that's one of my nicknames.

Hopefully somebody will give her one of those small pools for her birthday next week.

Oh wow...I can't believe she's going to be a year old already!!

Couchy, love your review of your trip. Glad to hear you and your DH had a wonderful time! I am looking forward to an adults only trip to the world some day.

Only 30 days until we arrive at BC!!:cheer2:

I have so much to do before then I hope time will seem to fly by. I like to organize the kids clothing to make sure we have plenty to take with us. I do not do laundry on vacation so if I have to go buy more I need to know that soon. I also will do school supply shopping before we leave otherwise everything will be picked over by the time we get back from vacation. Then the car will need an oil change and tire rotation before we hit the road. Of course there are a lot of little details to work on before our trip as well. Are there others that start getting things ready this far out or am I just crazy?!?!:lmao:

Have a great Friday everyone!!

Lily is going to LOVE the little kids section at SAB! When we did our grand gathering the little kids didn't ever want to leave that section of SAB!

I usually went at 6:30. I am not a sleep in person. It was usually hoping by 7 but not jam packed. There were still treadmills open . Seems the ellipticals had the most demand. Always bikes and star c limbers open as well

Thanks!!! Friends of mine are all staying at BWI and for the same price at YC/BC, I'd rather stay where I love as I have no desire to stay at BWI. I figure at some point I'll have to stay there since the only 3 resorts I haven't stayed at are GF, BWI, and AoA but I'm thinking BC will be a good fit!

It will be just me and I won't be in the room much either but I'm also going to ask for a Garden View upon switching the reservation and the balcony doesn't matter since I won't be in the room much! My check-in date is a week from today so I guess I'll get what I get!!

Thanks for your help!!

Same here, except I'm always thinking of Stormalong Bay! My poor wife has to hear me go on and on about the Beach Club day after day, after day, after.............well you get the point :)

42 days and counting for us!!! Is it me or the closer you get the more unbearable the wait seems to be?

You are NOT crazy!! We are 42 days out and I already did the school supply shopping! We will return 2 days before school starts so had to do it before. Still need to get them a few new uniform shirts, and new backpacks but otherwise we are set for school. Hoping to go through the clothing in another couple weeks to see if anything else is needed. Seems like I always go get everyone new socks before vacation so that is on the list :goodvibes

Great story Teena. Already picturing y'all having to drag her away from SAB :Pinkbounc.

Lily and I share the same birthday so I will never forget 7-11!
