OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Hello again everyone! :wave2:

I'm back on the boards and all caught up with the thread after my surgery. I've been starting out slowly, reading the BC/YC gang's trip reports and now this thread. This has kept my spirits up as I ride the roller coaster of recovery. I am very fortunate to report that I am now cancer free and with some minor concessions I am expected to make a complete recovery from a very rare type of gastric cancer.

To celebrate I have added a trip banner for my December trip. I very much look forward to reading all the questions and witty repartee as I store resort knowledge in my brain like a well fed chipmunk stores morsels in it's cheeks. I have a feeling it's time for me to make my ADR's but I will need more time for that as my brain cells slowly migrate back to the useful zone. Reading all this wonderful information is getting me primed to make the grand plan for my December trip!

In any case here is a big thank you to all who post here. :grouphug: Your musings and experiences and sharing are good for the soul!

Welcome back to the thread and congratulations on being cancer free! Everything else is gravy after that, right?

Hi all! I echo Ninja Mom's feelings that it's good to be back. Took about six month hiatus from most of the Disboards due to my father's illness-he lost his battle with ALS last Sunday and we are now working on recovery of the survivors. Planning a Disney trip in August but cheating on the BC with POFQ-needed two rooms since we are now a traveling party of 4 (wasn't going to make my DM room with DH's snoring...bad enough I have to do it!). I also spent the past couple of days going through the threads and catching up and it's good to hear all of you having a great time planning and bantering back and forth! Looking forward to catching up with everything here :)

I'm so excited for Chef's Table...my hubby is a chef (not professionally trained) but has been wanting to try it ever since we heard about it! I'll be sure to give a complete trip report on that meal alone!! LOL

DD and I did the Chef's Table in November. I added the wine paring to it... so much food and drink, but it was amazing. DD fiance is a professionally trained chef so DD really wanted to do the Chef's Table and we loved it! After the Chef's Table we went on the Magic Kingdom Firework Cruise... Also amazing!!

OK, I am so excited right now. I just booked parasailing :wizard: for my DH for his birthday ( which is during our trip). He is going to be so surprised and so happy . I am not sure I want to go with him ( a bit of a fear of heights) but I think he will be disappointed if I don't, so I booked a tandem flight.

We also did parasailing!! This was the 2nd time we had done this we love it. We did the 600 foot one and all I can say is it is HIGH!!!

Have fun!!
~Nannette

Sorry to hear about your loss.:grouphug: I can't think of anything better than a trip to Disney to help ease your grief!

Happy planning!!

Cking in at BC 6\30...when should we make a room request. Want a waterview and nearest Epcot Entrance...thanks in advance.

Welcome fieldboss....Great place for a first post!

Hi All!
For those that have DD and DS that BOTH love Disney, how did you take one and not the other or did you just do two separate trips :cool1:

Two trips, two trips, two trips.............

Thanks Nannette! Disney is a great place to heal, no matter which resort we are in. We will come by several times to visit with Teena and Richard, have supper at Cape May, and relax for a few minutes between DHS and Epcot. It was funny...the day after the memorial service, my DM looked at me and said, "When are we going to Disney?" How could I do anything else but plan a trip? :confused3

Looking forward to chatting and sharing my knowledge again of the BC/BCV with the "newbies" to the thread.

:welcome:

You would want to call now to have that request added to your reservation. Is your reservation a water view room category?

Scattered on the 5th floor of the resort since you are CL. As Teena said, as long as there is no water or no roofs, it's GV. However, many of the posters report (and I'm one of them) that evern if you have GV, you may get to look at the water if you look out your balconey to the left or the right.

Thank you and Teena!

Good work on beating cancer! :thumbsup2 Glad to have you back and can't wait to see the witty repartee increase as your body and mind heal.

Just FYI, someone posted a few pages back about wanting to book the Wishes Dessert Party for August... It just opened up for bookings about 10:00 am today. I booked mine for August 23:cool1:!!!

We did this on our last trip, and for anyone who doesn't like to deal with staking out a spot or thick crowds, it's awesome!!

Wow...thanks for posting about the dessert parties for August! My DD's birthday is August 15th and I just booked this as a surprise for her :)

Glad to see you back here!! :goodvibes Congratulations on being cancer-free! :grouphug: That deserves a celebration (or a cheerleader or two) :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. :grouphug: My FIL has been battling cancer for the past year and we received some discouraging news last week (tumors aren't responding to current chemo regimen, depending on results of test on tumor, chemo may change or clinical trial may be last option....we knew this was incurable from the start, but it's going to be hard on my kids because "Papap" has been their babysitter and confidant since DD8 was 6 weeks old.) so the Disboards are my escape! Enjoy planning the trip with your Mom! :)

Wow that's exciting! I dont think I'd be that daring  Let us know how it goes!!!

Yeah I am super nervous about it. I think the only thing that is going to make me follow this through is the views of Disney I will get to see

We saw that on some Disney promo show and now my DD really wants to go. She will be 9 when we go but is very small (like a 6 year old) anyone know if they have age and size limits?

I read that there is a 125lb min. You can ride tandem though if one person is under the weight limit.

I posted a review of my recent stay at YC CL here.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2941085

I'd love it if you'd come check it out.

I should have added that a highlight of our stay was meeting with you again Teena! My boys can not stop talking about you! Thank you for being so kind and treating them so well! They loved the pin trading :goodvibes

You truly are a gem in the BC lobby :cloud9:

That was one of my highlights of the weekend!!!! They are adorable! Please tell them Grandma Teena can't wait to see them again!!!

We are having a fantastic time at the YC club level :goodvibes We checked in Saturday and will be here until Sunday. Have an absolutely gorgeous view of the gazebo/lake/boardwalk :cloud9::love::cloud9:

Our trip started out a bit rough with confusion in the lounge (food allergy) but has since turned around and is getting better. I made a quick run to whole foods and that also helped so that I have a couple safe options in the room.

DS loved his graduation present of club level and Star Wars weekend. It was crazy crowded at DHS but we managed a great parade spot which helped DS get the photos he wanted with our new camera :thumbsup2 Epcot was beautiful last night with low crowds, MK was rather busy this afternoon so we ducked out and are enjoying the YC ;)

If there are any questions just let me know and I'll try to answer :goodvibes

Sorry about those issues. I'm lucky that we have no food allergies. Of course my son might end up waking up all of the fifth floor with his coughing but that's different. We'll be arriving club level next Monday just as you're leaving. Too bad we will miss Star Wars weekends but hey, less crowds? (yeah right)

Hope your magical vacation continues!

I'm considering faxing in a room request. The last time we stayed at BC, we had a corner room, a long distance from the lobby, overlooking the service area of the resort. I had two balconies and was extra spacious. Anyone have an idea what room number / building name / room description I should put on the room request to best describe what I'm thinking of? Maybe I could call and have the folio researched to see what room I was in last time?

I say go for it!! I am deathly afraid of heights but DH and I went while we were at Castaway Cay last year and it was amazing! A little scary, yes but I'm so glad we did it!!
