OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Well, I keep changing our plans for resorts for our trip in late May/Early June for 2013. Was going to try Bonnet Creek as the price is great and the resort looks awesome but just can't seem to go offsite. Last 3 times we rented DVC points and stayed at BWV and AKV. I really want to stay a BCV but it is too expensive for a 10 night stay. So, I'm thinking of staying 5 nights at AKV and 5 nights at BCV. Trying to convince my SIL of this. She has not been to Disney and is already confused with all the info and options. I've been stalking the DVC Rent boards hoping to find someone who can rent out at 11 months. Have e-mailed 3 people and PM'd one and no one has gotten back to me. So, that is frustrating. I know this resort fills up quickly and love the look of the resort and being able to walk to Epcot and boat to DHS. Location is winning out over the pricing of Bonnet Creek.

Yes the coffee in the room is bad, it is also the exact same coffee they serve in the food courts and resturants.:lmao:

1. with all the coffee talk, can we bring our own pods for the coffee makers? Is there a certain brand? With 2 kids, if I try to sneak out there is no doubt they will stir!

Believe it or not I'm up earlier than that, and I hate to wake everyone up making coffee. This way I can get myself ready, head downstairs, grab coffee in the marketplace and relax in the lobby or outside while rocking.

And yes the room coffee and marketplace coffee are not going to win any awards!!!

Does anyone have a photo of the actual coffee pod (out of its packet) so that I can get an idea of wether or not the coffee pods that I buy in Lidl will fit.

OK Folks,
For all of you there now, or just returned, or headed there soon, WHAT is the situation with the toiletries? What kind did you have? And for anyone there now, how about cornering someone from Mousekeeping and asking them if a change is in the works??

Can you tell I am an H2O freak?

Thanks!
Linda:)

Here now at BC-CL. We have H2O products.

We are BC CL and the Aquatics H2O are still here. Mouthwash too though the Solar Relief Gel is no longer in the rooms :confused3 The soap is different, it is a packet with tinker bell and has sea salt (CR had the other circle Mickey stuff earlier this trip)

I just read a recent review on TripAdvisor where the reviewer said there was some very, very noisy construction during her stay, specifically near the quiet pool. does anyone know if there is construction going on now?

I have not noticed any constructions at all, other than some painting on one bridge in SAB.

I will take a picture tomorrow morning before we leave and post it for you!

We have been so lucky. We met Teena yesterday and she is as amazing in person as I thought she would be. DD thinks she is so nice! We also got to chat this afternoon on our way from DHS to Epcot when both kids fell asleep in the stroller (quietest 30 minutes we have had all week). Teena--Thank you for everything and for being so wonderful to us!

I was looking to see where Fantasia Gardens is in relation to the YC/BC and I found this on Allears.

TRANSPORTATION: Your best bet to reach Fantasia Gardens is to either walk from the Epcot resort area, or to drive.

DRIVING: Traveling west on Buena Vista Drive from DOWNTOWN DISNEY, turn right at the second Epcot Resorts Boulevard traffic signal. Traveling east from World Drive, on Buena Vista Drive, turn left at Epcot Resorts Boulevard traffic signal.

ON FOOT: From Disney's BoardWalk Resort, cut through the resort lobby to the Boardwalk. Turn left and continue to the end between Atlantic Dance and Jelly Rolls Piano Bar. Cross the bridge toward the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and continue straight ahead to the street. Fantasia is on the left and the tennis courts are on the right. (If the big tent is set up, guests may walk through the tent.)

WDW TRANSPORTATION: You can get to Fantasia Gardens by taking WDW Resort transportation to the Swan, followed by a short walk from the hotel.

If you take the boat to the Swan/Dolphin, take a left once you walk up the dock on the walkway and head towards the Swan. Before you get to entrance door of the Swan, take a right and walk along the lake as it curves, passing the lap pool on your left. Once you pass the beach chairs and just before you get to the beach volleyball area, turn left and follow the lighted sidewalk that goes across the street to Fantasia Mini Golf. Not more than a 5 minute walk total. Use caution crossing the street on foot!

It's an easy walk to Fantasia gardens. I've done it before when I stayed at YC.

I will say that I did not, in any way, find it to be a fun mini-golf course. I may be an adult, but I love a good mini-golf course! There weren't any fun obstacles or anything...it was like I was putting on a real golf course. I think there is another mini-golf course somewhere else on property that is more like a traditional mini-golf course. I wish I'd done more research before I headed over there. I thought it was a waste of time. You may have a different opinion than me though...just wanted to let you know.

Hello All!

I just booked the Yacht Club GARDEN VIEW for July 3 -5, two nights for $630.00 passholder rate. Is that a decent rate?

We stayed at the Boardwalk back in February which was nice, but there is something about the Yacht Club WE JUST LOVE! I think it's the whole ambiance PLUS STORM ALONG BY IS BY FAR the BEST POOL IN DISNEY! LOL!

I am also typically an early riser. We are staying CL, so can I get coffee in the CL Lounge before 7am? Or does it all open up at 7am for CL guests.

Thank you! That's what I needed to know :goodvibes

This is good to know - I will definitely try to research a little more before deciding. The obstacles are 1/2 the fun of putt-putt!! Thanks for the input.

Winer/Summerland at Blizzard Beach is the fun one. Fantasia Gardens is a screaming bore to us. We only did it once, before we had kids, and we won't bother gong back. Some like it though. I've read people say it's more challenging. Jeeze, any mini golf course is challenging to me! I don't go to be challenged anyway. I go to have fun and we never keep score. Challenges are for regular life. :thumbsup2

When you get a chance let us know what the BC CL offerings are. There are rumors that they are changing things. Mostly importantly - are there still oreo bon bons????

A concierge manager today told me oreo bon bons will only be there one night a week.

We just returned yesterday from the YC :cloud9: and the construction is near the YC quiet pool - there is scaffolding outside the YC rooms that face the quiet pool. If you are checking in soon I would ask upon check in where your room is located to ensure you are not in this area - I was surprised to see that the rooms near this are occupied.

When entering SAB each person shows their room key and gets an armband-correct? If you leave and come back the same day do you Need to bring your room key again if you still have your armband on? And how do you veteran BC/ yc er's not loose your room keys when at the pool?

I remember reading that CL was open 24 hrs on a trial basis...but when we were there last June it wasn't open early. We are very early risers and around 6:30 they would set an urn of brewed coffee at the front desks by the elevator with cups, sugar, cream, etc. I hope this has changed because we get up at 530 and would love to get ANY coffee that early, even if it is Nescafe!

We just returned from the YC - while the lounge was closed at set times during the day - opened at 7am in the morning - there was coffee available outside the lounge entrance at 6:30am for the early risers. For coffee at 5:30 you would have the brewer in your room that will do both coffee and tea.

Yahoo! We check-in on Sunday.
What would be a great request to make for a BC GV?

Depends on what you want. Close to Epcot? Close to Lobby? Full balcony? Remember, a garden view is a view of anything green. Some of the views are of dense woods, some grassy area. If you don't see a parking lot, a roof or water, it's a garden view.

Yes, each day you show your individual room key and get a wrist ban that is good for only that day. You do not have to show your key anymore.

Bob keeps his key in his pocket in his swim suit and it gets soaked. Have no idea if it messes up the key because we always seem to use mine. I keep mine in the bottom of my beach bag which I keep on my chair. Nothing valuable is in there. The key isn't valuable really. Somebody could steal it of course but the room number isn't on it so it won't get them into the room. The second I get out of the water I check to make sure it's there. If someone were to steal it, I'd just go to the front desk immediately and get a new key which voids out the old key. I guess someone could quickly use it to buy stuff and charge my room key but I just don't worry about it. Guess I'm just very trusting.
