Hi, I am thinking of booking my first cruise. I would like to book an accessible room. I had multiple knees / ankles/ feet surgeries following an accident and having a stand alone shower with bars and bars for the toilet really helps. I do not yet need a wheelchair and by just looking at me standing you could not tell I need those things. Does anyone know if it is possible and how I should proceed. Thank you in advance.

You can book an accessible stateroom. I believe you will be asked to confirm and attest that a member of your party needs those accommodations. You should be fine.

Yes, you can book a accessible stateroom. Many years ago, DCL required a form signed by your doctor, but that is no longer needed. I book accessible staterooms for us because of the same reason you state, grab bars around shower and toilet area.

Also, not knowing about the newer ships but when I asked a few years back on the Dream there was a wheelchair accessible staterooms and handicap accessible staterooms. Be sure to check with DCL to get the stateroom you need.
