OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I have really enjoyed reading all of your great information on this page and all of your helpful answers. I am leaving tonight/tomorrow morning (what do you call 3am?) and will get there sometime on Wednesday. If anyone sees a crazy bride running around Friday afternoon, stop by, say hi and calm my nerves ;)

Is the coffee in the rooms bad? Just wondering why everyone is heading to the Beach Club at 6.30am!

Best Wishes - and hoping for perfect weather!!!!

Doing the single digit dance :banana::banana::banana::banana:

9 days until we are back at the Beach Club! We get more excited each day.

I hope to see some DISers around SAB.

We have a few CMs that speak french but there is no way of knowing if they will be there when you are there. However, we have an interpreter 24 hours a day via telephone for any language. So if you come to the desk, ask if anyone speaks french. If they say no, then ask to be connected to the french interpreter via the telephone. You'll talk to the interpreter on the phone and tell them what you want, and then the interpreter talks to the CM. I had to use them yesterday for someone from Viet Nam.

Thank you it's very nice to answer.

I book a garden view at the Yacht Club. Can you tell me the best room  ?

We'll likely book garden view and would like to stay in a part of the resort that is likely to be relatively quieter.

The unofficial guide says we should request a room on the East side of the resort.

Any other advice or suggestions?

Thanks

This November trip for me is slowly "The Great 2012 Escape!"

Besides having 2 weddings within two weeks of us leaving I now find out that BOTH of my sisters are expecting and their due dates ALSO fall in that 2 week period :scared1:

Can't complain too much since all are good news but still... when did the end of October/early November 2012 become some darn popular!?

I just read a recent review on TripAdvisor where the reviewer said there was some very, very noisy construction during her stay, specifically near the quiet pool. does anyone know if there is construction going on now?

We are looking at a few things to do on our "non-park" days and thought the kiddos would enjoy mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens. Can anyone tell me if this is walkable from the YC/BC or from Swan/Dolphin (if we take boat over) or would it be better to take a cab??
Thanks!

I was looking to see where Fantasia Gardens is in relation to the YC/BC and I found this on Allears.

TRANSPORTATION: Your best bet to reach Fantasia Gardens is to either walk from the Epcot resort area, or to drive.

DRIVING: Traveling west on Buena Vista Drive from DOWNTOWN DISNEY, turn right at the second Epcot Resorts Boulevard traffic signal. Traveling east from World Drive, on Buena Vista Drive, turn left at Epcot Resorts Boulevard traffic signal.

ON FOOT: From Disney's BoardWalk Resort, cut through the resort lobby to the Boardwalk. Turn left and continue to the end between Atlantic Dance and Jelly Rolls Piano Bar. Cross the bridge toward the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and continue straight ahead to the street. Fantasia is on the left and the tennis courts are on the right. (If the big tent is set up, guests may walk through the tent.)

WDW TRANSPORTATION: You can get to Fantasia Gardens by taking WDW Resort transportation to the Swan, followed by a short walk from the hotel.

If you take the boat to the Swan/Dolphin, take a left once you walk up the dock on the walkway and head towards the Swan. Before you get to entrance door of the Swan, take a right and walk along the lake as it curves, passing the lap pool on your left. Once you pass the beach chairs and just before you get to the beach volleyball area, turn left and follow the lighted sidewalk that goes across the street to Fantasia Mini Golf. Not more than a 5 minute walk total. Use caution crossing the street on foot!

Is the coffee in the rooms bad? Just wondering why everyone is heading to the Beach Club at 6.30am!

Yes the coffee in the room is bad, it is also the exact same coffee they serve in the food courts and resturants.:lmao:

The reason some people ask is that the coffee maker is in the room where the rest of your party is sleeping. So strolling down to have your coffee with light is a big plus. Also BC seems to attract the early morning roamers....

I won't drink Disney coffee at all. My mom has to have coffee and she did say what she got at meals was better than the stuff she brewed in the room, maybe brewing method helps but they are both the same brand just different grinds and brewing methods.

Hello everyone! It's been a couple of months since my last posting.

For those going at the beginning of October as well as us, any updates on possible construction we should look at for?

Hi all!

I have 2 questions for our August trip

1. with all the coffee talk, can we bring our own pods for the coffee makers? Is there a certain brand? With 2 kids, if I try to sneak out there is no doubt they will stir!

2. do they have "kids" yogurt in the marketplace? like the squeeze ones? My boys are yogurt junkies, but they don't really like the greek style, fruit on the bottom type.

Thanks!

Believe it or not I'm up earlier than that, and I hate to wake everyone up making coffee. This way I can get myself ready, head downstairs, grab coffee in the marketplace and relax in the lobby or outside while rocking.

And yes the room coffee and marketplace coffee are not going to win any awards!!!

I am one of those early risers so I skip out of the room and head to wherever there is coffee. I am looking forward to seeing some other early birds :goodvibes

Me too :) My DH is up every day at 3:30 but he will "sleep in" on vacation, as does the rest of my family. I just cannot so I like to get out for coffee and enjoy reading in the quiet.
