OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I actually asked one of the managers if I could do my job in a wheelchair or scooter and they said no. So, since I don't want to give up my greeter job, this foot better get fixed. Has anybody dealt with heelspurs here with any luck? The $500 orthotics that took two months to make haven't helped, then the oral medication to help the swelling didn't help, the cortisone shot in my heel Thursday didn't help. He wants me back in two weeks for another shot which hurt soooo bad he better convince me a second one might do more than the first (which did nothing) or that's not happening. Bob wants me to just quit the job since my heel doesn't bother me until I work and then only after 3 hours or so ... then it starts acting up and by 4 hours I have to hit the pills. Man it's a pain getting old!

My hairdresser has been suffering with her feet for about 6 months now. She tried the shots also (won't go back because it hurt sooo bad and didn't help), she just finished physical therapy (didn't work). She is now going to try and cut back on hours. If that doesn't work she plans to go back to school...............it's that bad.

So I feel really bad thinking of you trying to stand there, greeting guests!!!

Happy Trails!!!!!

As for us, TOMORROW!!!!!!!
:banana::cool1::yay::dance3:

But, I just got my first ever B boarding pass with SW today  (and that was with EBCI on a 6:15am flight) Hopefully there aren't a lot of family boarding peeps in between A&B since we are B1&2 :wizard:

If anyone thinks of anything they need me to snap a photo of at the YC (besides the cupcake situation at the BC Marketplace) please post today since I won't be checking in here until we get back next week.

Thanks!
Kristin

We did EBCI also last week................flight out this past Saturday night at 8:20 p.m. I had A-17, DH had A-50, DD had A-51......don't know how that happened. As it turns out with my A-17 I was actually the first person in line!!! A1 through A-16 didn't show up on time.

Have a great trip!

Thanks! We have had A 16 before. But there were still a couple of Business Select folks in 1-15, so we weren't the very first. I did just switch from an earlier flight to this flight a couple of weeks ago and I guess tons of people must have purchased EBCI before I did, which pushed us down the list. I am not worried, since its just 2 of us, so I know we will be together in the middle/back of the plane. We are just so eager to get off the plane and get moving that I hate waiting for everyone else to unload and go! :rotfl:

Dee & Cinderumbrella - safe travels! Hope your trips are magical. :)

Teena - Hope they figure out a good solution for you. Would they be open to you sitting for maybe an hour in the middle of your shift? Then, maybe the pain wouldn't be as bad, while you and your doctors and you decide on a long-term plan. :grouphug:

Well, bummer. :( I just heard back from IPO and three of my 7 ADRs were unavailable (and a 4th had to be switched to a different day). And the two I was most interested in, Hoop De Do and Coral Reef, weren't available. :(

She said something about not being able to book Hoop De Do after October? I think I'll go comb the restaurant boards and see if there is any discussion about that.

I remember reading something about them updating Hoop De Doo during that time period. As for Coral Reef, it is usually pretty popular. Could you try to schedule that later in the week? With the +10 advantage of staying on property, I can't imagine nothing is available. Sometimes, an earlier dinner is open too. We usually go around 5 p.m. and I never had problems finding a slot. If neither of those options work for you, check online yourself about a month from now every so often. Usually someone will cancel between now and then. Especially at the 30-day mark - lots of people wind up cancelling their trips and their ADRs around that time.

I just thought of something else. Last year, we could not book Coral Reef for December until a little later, because they are one of the restaurants that participate in the Candlelight Processional packages. Maybe that's why nothing was available? So, just keep checking and eventually (hopefully) some dates/times will open up. That's what we did last year and it worked out fine. We'll probably run into the same problem as we book our ADRs next week.

I am happily backreading on this thread. Very excited about our upcoming YC stay. I sent an email to the IPO this morning, got a response in 10 minutes. My goodness, that was fast! :cool1:

Good morning everyone. :goodvibes

Teena: Sorry to hear about your feet. Have the doctors recommended sleeping with any sort of support/brace on your feet to help stretch your Achilles tendon? I do hope you get some relief soon.

... We are just so eager to get off the plane and get moving that I hate waiting for everyone else to unload and go! :rotfl:

... and it always seems to be so painfully slow. Though, we usually self-inflict the torture of waiting by heading toward the back even with the EBCI. :confused3 I've been lucky that I've never had B yet. *crosses fingers for continuing luck this September*

In my latest Disney-obsessed planning adventures...

With the latest ticket price hike, in particular the increases to the AP, we'll probably not be getting them. Though, with working through the numbers of our "potential trips" of this January and September 2013, I might be able to convince my hubs to opt for a 10-day no-expire ticket. :teacher: We'd save about $450-$500 dollars in tickets. I mean, who doesn't want to save almost $500 and go to Disney more, right? :rolleyes1

At 7:31 of our family video we've got a compilation of Beach Club footage including the walk from the 1500s rooms to Epcot. We couldn't picture just how short this walk was until we got there. Thought some people would enjoy it.

BellasDad, Your kids are sooooo cute! Makes me wish my kids were little again. Looks like you had an awesome vacation.

I loved the footage of the BC and the walkway to Epcot. I have been searching Youtube for a video that showed exactly how long that walk was and haven't been able to find one, so thank you! That was great.:)

Oooh, if you wouldnt mind just getting me a picture of the ceiling fan inside the wedding gazebo, that would be fab. I'm just a bit concerned about how hot its going to be standing there in August.

Thanks.

And the two I was most interested in, Hoop De Do and Coral Reef, weren't available. Upon further discussion, she explained that it isn't that those options are full, they just aren't available yet. I am on "the wait list" and hopefully all will work out!

Hope it works out for you. Tried to get Ohana's this morning for Dec. 1 and nothing available except for an 8:00pm seating. We'll be on ME on Sunday morning at 5:00am so we are going to pass on this. Kind of bummed about it. But we'll do what everyone else does, call back constantly and see if anything opens up.

Well funny you ask...last summer there was a wedding while we were there and I could see the fan moving and thought to myself that is like a glass of water on a forest fire..it was August 2011 when we were there last. I went down later , fan was still running, and either it was my imagination but it did not seem THAT bad....it was for sure very warm but it is nicely shaded open area - I think the roof does more than the fan. I wouldn't wanted to have stood there for an hour but if the ceremony is short and sweet i think you will be fine!

Oh, that reminds me. I should check our boarding passes for tomorrow.
