OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Just got home and even taking two prescription pain pills didn't help. I think it might be time to reconsider the surgery. The heel is fine unless I'm working. At home it rarely bothers me. And I'm good for about 3 hours at work and then it really really starts aching!!

Sorry to hear that Teena. Surgery can be a scary option, but it sounds like your choices may be running out. :sad1:

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH surgery stinks!!! I can relate to pain in the foot though even though mine was caused from a break when it hurts to walk and stand you just want it fixed. I'm in to week 3 of laying on the couch... last Wednesday the stiches came out and the cast went on. Hopefully on the 20th the cast will come off and the surgical shoe will go on!!!

Good luck and think about the surgery to make it all better!!!

At 7:31 of our family video we've got a compilation of Beach Club footage including the walk from the 1500s rooms to Epcot. We couldn't picture just how short this walk was until we got there. Thought some people would enjoy it.

Hooray!! Just sent my ADR list to the IPO a few minutes ago! I think that is worthy of a , wouldn't you say? ;)

DH had to work tonight, but the boys (10 and 6) sat in the living room with me while I offered them options and gave them descriptions. I was surprised at some of their choices...DS10 was crazy excited to do Chefs de France, while BOTH boys positively insisted on Chef Mickey's. I was stunned, but DS10 blurted it right out when I started talking about character meals. Even though he was only 3 the last time we went, it obviously made a lasting impression! DS6 tried to pipe up with his "memories" of the meal, but I quickly reminded him: "You were in my belly the last time you were at Chef Mickey's." His rapid-fire response: "Yes, but when I was in your belly, I remember the food being really good." How can you argue with that? :rotfl2:

I would like to thank the folks here who offered suggestions very much--we have a few new places to try thanks to the ideas given here, including Boma and Coral Reef. The boys were GEEKED about Coral Reef--as I knew they would be! Captain's Grille is also on the list, as is the Hoop De Do Revue, which was MY personal favorite from our last trip.

My last ADR is Rose & Crown for my husband and I to have a "kid-free" night while the boys are in the adventure club. I'm not positive if I'll stick with that one, but I remember he really enjoyed it the last time. We went to a fantastic British pub in Savannah, Georgia in 2002 (when I was pregnant with the first), and R&C reminded us a lot of that.

I now have my park days figured out and am geeked to start doing more research around what's changed since the last time I was there. :cloud9: Love this part of the planning process!!

Again, thank you all for the help, and thanks to Dee for the great thread. Have a great trip this week, Dee!!

PS: Now I just need a ticker...

Sounds like an awesome list of ADR's! I can't actually speak from experience, of course, but several of them match mine. Isn't it fun when the whole planning process comes together? I remember how happy I was at the 180 mark. It such an important milestone in my upcoming trip. Congratulations!:banana::banana:

Dee - Safe travels. I am sure you will make magical memories with the kids that will last a lifetime! I'll be thinking of you.

Noooo, a desk job might take her away from the lobby.

I think we need to call and get them to set up a throne for her, fitting for her position as queen of the BC!

Perfect fit for her!!! And even more fitting when Princess Lily comes to visit her.

I actually asked one of the managers if I could do my job in a wheelchair or scooter and they said no. So, since I don't want to give up my greeter job, this foot better get fixed. Has anybody dealt with heelspurs here with any luck? The $500 orthotics that took two months to make haven't helped, then the oral medication to help the swelling didn't help, the cortisone shot in my heel Thursday didn't help. He wants me back in two weeks for another shot which hurt soooo bad he better convince me a second one might do more than the first (which did nothing) or that's not happening. Bob wants me to just quit the job since my heel doesn't bother me until I work and then only after 3 hours or so ... then it starts acting up and by 4 hours I have to hit the pills. Man it's a pain getting old!

As for us, TOMORROW!!!!!!!
:banana::cool1::yay::dance3:

But, I just got my first ever B boarding pass with SW today  (and that was with EBCI on a 6:15am flight) Hopefully there aren't a lot of family boarding peeps in between A&B since we are B1&2 :wizard:

If anyone thinks of anything they need me to snap a photo of at the YC (besides the cupcake situation at the BC Marketplace) please post today since I won't be checking in here until we get back next week.

Thanks!
Kristin

Oh, Tina, I'm so sorry about your troubles. I empathize, believe me. I don't have heel spurs, but I have had flat feet all my life, and it has been pure misery. :( In fact, I remember that the most unpleasant part of my Disney trip 7 years ago wasn't being pregnant--it was the pain in my feet. It is so impossible to enjoy your day when your feet hurt SO much. :( I know that it's that much harder when you have to be on your feet for a living. I remember when I worked at McDonald's right out of high school, where I was on my feet ALL day, I couldn't walk by the end of the day. I vowed I would never have another "on my feet" job again.

I wish I had answers for you, but I don't. I have also tried the orthodics (didn't help), but there are no "shots" available for my condition. I was advised when I was young (like 12) that if I didn't wear the orthodics EVERY day, I would need surgery by the time I was 40. I just hit that mark last year, and now I feel like I'm stealing time... :rolleyes1 I'll admit that my feet do still hurt a lot, but since I started walking and then running, and bought running shoes specifically for flat feet (which I now wear EVERYWHERE), it has made a huge difference.

:grouphug: from someone who truly understands!

I am :rotfl2: at all these responses to Dee's ticker!
(I actually 2nd the Grey Goose slushie!) ;)

Dee, HAVE a WONDEFUL time with the kiddos!!!!:thumbsup2

And Cinderumbrella, you too! How exciting!

Teena! I am so sorry about your troubles and pain! Hopefully it can be resolved soon! You are the face of the BC! I know we all look for you when we walk in! :goodvibes

Healing thoughts and prayers for you!

Well, bummer. :( I just heard back from IPO and three of my 7 ADRs were unavailable (and a 4th had to be switched to a different day). And the two I was most interested in, Hoop De Do and Coral Reef, weren't available. :(

She said something about not being able to book Hoop De Do after October? I think I'll go comb the restaurant boards and see if there is any discussion about that.

Oh, well, we'll figure it out!! It's just so frustrating that it's 6 months away and you STILL can't book things!

edited to add: Upon further discussion, she explained that it isn't that those options are full, they just aren't available yet. I am on "the wait list" and hopefully all will work out! :)
