OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

hello all -
We are loving our stay at BC! Today is a resort day for us, and we are just eating counter service meals after some last minute changes to allow us some flexibility....
I figured we would eat lunch at Hurricane Hannah's....but I am at a loss where we should go for dinner. Is there a counter service (that takes the dining plan) on the Boardwalk? We aren't picky.

I guess if we can't find something we will head to DTD for dinner, but I'd rather stay here if possible.

Lots of times we'll run over to EPCOT for a quick cs meal - great choices.

If not have you ever thought of paying out of pocket and just eating at Beaches and Cream? We do that a lot when we decide to just hang around the resort.

Happy Sunday everyone. :goodvibes Beautiful weather here outside of Chicago today. Going to head outside and enjoy it... and dream I was sweating my tuchus off down at the BC instead. ;)

Lots of people about to head down. Wishing you all an excellent time... and to Dee, I'm wishing you an amazing amount of patience. You are a brave, brave woman. :worship:

I was looking at the YC/CL booking categories, and had a question. Does lagoon view CL guarantee a balcony? (One that you could sit on-that morning coffee with a view is so nice to us.)
Thanks for any advice, thinking seriously of changing ressie to YC. I would love to spend some time in Stormalong Bay.

We stayed in a CL lagoon view last August and it looked to me like every room on the CL floor (5th) had a full balcony. As far as I know, almost all (if not all) the rooms at the YC have a full balcony.

It was nice to sit on the balcony in the morning and watch things "come alive" at the resort and the lagoon. We could also see some of the higher fireworks from Illuminations at Epcot every night.

My family (myself, DH, and 20month Twin Sons) will be heading to Disney August 17-23. I was just looking at the Bfast menu at Captain's Grille and noticed that they offer a buffet menu as well. Would my children be able to eat from that if I were to purchase that for myself?

Alas, no park ticket for today and we've got to use up our CS credits. We were thinking of walking the Boardwalk tonight and getting dinner there while we were out.

Finally back!!! Hated to leave..........it was a great vacation.

Got to meet Wannabee completely by accident!! She and her sister wound up on the same ferry as us early one morning, and she heard me mention where we were from and decided to ask if I was a Disboard member....I'm so glad she did. In all my years, I have never met another member while at Disney!!! AND she lives in the same city as I do, CRAZY.

Wannabee It was great to meet you and your sister, enjoy the rest of your vacation!!

Had some great meals, spent WAY too much time in the parks and I am exhausted now. It rained too much for us to enjoy the pool everyday like we have in the past (only used it 3 times).

Visited the monorail resorts to kill some time in the rain, only went to DTD one evening because it was MUCH more important to get to Germany at night for Caramels, Pretzels and adult beverages ;)

Any questions, please ask.

Dee We saw soooooo many middle school groups while there, thought about you alot.....................get plenty of rest before heading there!!!

P.S. learned something new.............if you are planning on adding a day to your passes (we added on a day for Saturday instead of heading to DTD), make sure you do it on the day your passes are still good!! DH decided to add them on Friday night after returning from EPCOT.............thank goodness, because if he had waited to do so on Saturday morning they wouldn't have been able to add them at the 8th day price.

Ocalla - Glad you had a good trip. Sorry about the rain, :thumbsup2 for Germany and adult beverages.

Yes, now you need a vacation from your vacation. Rest up!

Your choices at BW are the Bakery (sandwiches and salad) & Pizza Window (um ... pizza;)) for quick service dining on the plan.

There are a couple of other places over there (burgers & such) but they do not take the plan.

Also the pool bar does, but it is just sandwiches .. nothing hot like Hurricane Hannah's.

Beach Club Marketplace is also an option with flatbreads, salads and sandwiches.

Good luck!

Thanks!! It was really surprising to get so much rain. But on Friday while at AK we put on poncho's and had a ball!! It started to rain at 8:55 (while waiting for EE to start loading passengers) and didn't end until later that evening. It was also quite cool, so we kept out ponchos on at Epcot that evening to keep us warm!!

Shoes were soaked, hair was a mess but we rode EE over and over again. It was a great memory.

One warning......the rain hurts while on EE!!!

Welcome home!! Did you book a bounceback??? :goodvibes

We were on BTMRR in the rain once and never again. You are right-it hurts!! We stick with the inside coasters in the rain now (Space, RnRC etc).

Hi outahere,
Thanks for the great info! I called a bit ago, made the change to YC CL lagoon view. Very happy with our decision. :goodvibes

I wanted to but the week I wanted in October (13th - 20th) was blacked out!!! not sure what's going on at that time, I've been searching online to see if there is anything special but come up empty handed??:confused3

The other bad thing about this trip was all of the "technical dificulties" the rides were having. On Wednesday Space Mountain, Splash Mtn and BTMRR were all down at the same time. On Saturday Splash, BTMRR and Pirates were all down at the same time FIRST thing at park opening. On Tuesday I think, RNRC and Tower were both down at same time and on Thursday RNRC went down another time. I felt really bad for familes with No park hoppers or one day passes.

Columbus Day is Oct 8 this year, so I am guessing anything blacked out around there is due to that.

Bummer about all the ride closures :guilty: I know it happens, and there is nothing that can be done, but it still stinks when it happens!

Sons less than two eh? They should be giving you a medal just for thinking about going. Not fully sure of your answer. Know what my guess would be but thought I'd bump your question in case it was missed.

The buffet is good but the Mickey waffle is not to be missed.

Going to try and keep up with this one. We are still planning on going next year but a move may happen before that so not sure if it will be able to happen. The silver lining is we might become annual pass holders. Here is to hoping I can keep up and we get to stay at the BC again :-)

Ocalla, so glad you had a great trip! Do you remember the dates on the bounceback? Did it end in 2012? We are going in August on a bounceback, still the best deal for us, and I'm wondering what those dates might be.... Can anyone guess?

Thanks!
Linda:)

Dee, thinking about you and your upcoming trip!

Ocalla, sounds like you and your family were troopers and made the best out of the worst weather! I'd LOVE to ride EE over and over!

Speaking of, my latest report (1/2 of Day 7 - AK) is posted... :)

Dee have fun, I bet you and your temp 'sons' will have a blast (even if you do have to stay somewhere other than the BC).

Teena I feel for you, I"m having a flare up on my left heel and I know mine hurts even though I can sit part of the time on my job. Hope the shot helps and you get some relief.
