Hey all,

I am trying to get my hands on the old style tophat mickey ears for my DF as he doesn't like the new style at all. Does anyone know where I might find one. There don't appear to be any on ebay and I'm not sure where else to check as it seems all the Disney Stores have shifted to the new style.

I saw Lurkyloo's way of creating your own and I may attempt that for him if I can't find one but I'm not super crafty in that way and I'm afraid I'll mess it up.

Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately they've long since been discontinued, and when they do turn up on eBay, it's at astronomical prices.

If you got a cheap party store/costume store top hat you could practice on it before you made the real thing. I'll see if I can get my husband to help we with a top hat tutorial like our baseball cap ears one! :thumbsup2

Thanks Lurkyloo. Any design help Patrick could provide would be much appreciated. He appears to be a whiz with these things! :)

I agree with Carrie; practice on a cheap hat. I think he would probably be more comfortable in one you make yourself than the top hats that Disney sold anyway. My fiancé tried one on before they were completely removed, and he didn't like it at all. It was a little small, felt kind of cheaply made, and the ears were just stapled on. Getting him to wear a black hat in Florida would have been a challenge in itself, but he definitely wouldn't wear an uncomfortable one.
