:rotfl2: Somehow I knew you'd go for the magic carpet option and I had a feeling you'd ask for a cute guy on the side. :rotfl2:

Easier and faster is a good thing. I don't like to fly, but at least it's not far. Probably what......an hour or two flight? That's better then a long drive through the boring desert.

What's a magic carpet without a cute guy? Seriously.

Easier and faster is always good in my book. :thumbsup2

I was looking at the LOVE tickets too. I've always wanted to go and this might be my only chance.

I was thinking Love or Ka would be good...... It would be nice to figure out a bit of a schedule to help with "budgeting" for the trip and making sure we can get tickets for whatever we want/need tickets for popcorn::

Just take your Disney budget and double it. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Kidding. Well, sort of. It does depend on what you do here. You can spend a fortune or do things on the cheap.

I'll see if I can throw some sort of schedule together tonight while the kids are working on homework. We know more or less what we want to do, plus there are just certain things all first time visitors must see, like the fountains, the volcano, etc. Those are just a given, and they are free!

In the meantime, look on Google for fun things to do in Vegas or on the Vegas.com site and see if there is anything specific you'd like to add or make sure to see. We'll find a way to squeeze it all in. It's 24/7 here, you can stay up all night and sleep when you get home. ;)

Free is always good! :thumbsup2

I'm going to be such a tourist. My first time I went to New York I was a complete tourist, taking pictures of everything. My sister was mortified and begged me to stop taking so many pictures. I was like "No way! I'll never see these people again and everything is so pretty, I wanna take pictures!" So I did and I'm glad I did. :snooty:

Tons of pictures are a must! Snap away, no one will mind.

OKay, I've got a print out of the schedule Stacie had worked on way back on page 21. I think we've added and deleted some things since then, so it will definitely need tweaking.

It's going to be a bit of a challenge because not everyone is here on the same days, but I'll do my best to keep the really fun things on the overlapping days so no one misses too much.

I've got a map of the Strip to sort of set a schedule that flows nicely so we are not wasting time hopping from one end to the other and back again. And I've got a website with the list of hours for the free shows, the bars, the restaurants, etc. so we can have those handy as well.

Time to get to planning!! I'll post what I come up with later tonight, and we can all work to tweak it from there. I'll just get us started. :thumbsup2

Yay! Thanks Beth! Get ready to get your picture taken lots!

Stacie: can you call the timeshare and see if they will give you a ground floor room for medical reasons? (I can produce a doctor's note if necessary). Stairs just kill me. If they can't guarantee that, then I may have to go the MGM route instead too. Which would free up a place in the timeshare.

I emailed the timeshare today; if I don't hear from them in a day or 2, I'll call and see what's up.

Magic carpet sounds nice! :thumbsup2 Throw a hot guy on there too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm thinking I'll be flying, 'cause it'll probably cost the same to drive, but flying will be easier and faster. :woohoo: I check the DING fares everday for Las Vegas, they've showed up a few times, but I've never had the money did buy them.

We hardly ever get Ding fares from Phoenix to Vegas. And the low fares they're advertising right now, $49, are Monday-Saturday, of course not Sunday!!

Sounds good, we are waiting patiently... :rolleyes1 and doing laundry :laundy:

I think I need some new tickers that don't take up so much room... Watch this space for further improvements...

ME?? I think not. I'll take your camera and take lots of pics of you. :thumbsup2

Thankfully I did laundry this morning. I always do at least a load a day to stay on top of it.

Keep waiting, I've already started!!

I'm watching!
Me too! Speaking of tickers, I like yours Wendy. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm only popping back in here because I remember Stacie saying she wanted to eat at an Italian restaurant in NY NY.
Stacie, was it the Il Fornaio? I just want to make sure we are on the same page. Thanks.

Eww, I don't need photographic evidence of my muffin top!

Thanks! I saw your pretty tickers and I wanted be cool like you! :thumbsup2

Heehee, my family calls it Ill Fornaio, because the one time we ate there we thought it was horrible and got bad stomach aches. I would be up to trying the one in Vegas though. :thumbsup2

Man, I WISH I could get airfare for $49!!! The cheapest I can find from Vancouver is $400 return........

I've done my laundry for today, so I'll just wait (and then go out to take DS to his practice), then more work (yippee!!)

Holy cow. First this thread moves a page a month, then today you guys chat up 5 pages, damn!

Here is a link to the tripadvisor page with the reviews for the timeshare: http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor...er_Bay_Resort_Las_Vegas-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

You can see candid traveler's photos (click on photos 46), which is what I always like to look at. It seems nice. The reviews say to ask for a remodeled unit, so Stacie, maybe when you call you could see what they say about that.

Also Cheryl will have a car right? Or else you'll take taxis? I seriously do not want anyone doing that walk from the hotel to the Strip. It is not a nice area, nor a nice walk.
In Vegas, as a tourist you are safest when you are hanging out on the Strip OR in one of the residential neighborhoods like Henderson, Green Valley, or Summerlin (where we live). The residential areas that are immediately surrounding the Strip are NOT nice. They have a lot of the lower income or homeless, lots of gang related crime, drugs, prostitution, etc.

That's pretty much the way it is in any big city. You have your nice areas, and your tourist areas which are all fine, then you have certain areas to steer clear of. I'm not saying this to scare anyone, but I know we have some Vegas newbies and I just wanted to let them know what's what. You're hotel is totally fine, just don't go out for a stroll alone at midnight is all I'm saying. Be smart and you'll be fine.

(hmmmm, I sound like my mother now  )

Thanks mom! I will also have my car. And I thought I read that the time share offers shuttles to the strip. Or no? If that's the case, we can shuttle to the strip, and taxi it home.

Is anyone staying at a hotel on the strip?? My "issue" is that I really don't sleep well (even at home), so I usually work and bug the bejeebers out of anyone I'm with (except my son and DH, who know me and love me anyway ). I want to be economical, but I don't want to cheese everyone off either!

That being said, if I'm the only one staying at a hotel, it may be an issue, right, with doing stuff together??

Hey Theresa, no worries. I have insomnia, so I have issues with sleeping as well. If I can sleep, and my body is ready, nothing can stop me. But most nights I am up, tossing, watching tv, reading, or whatever. Stay with us. We can bunk up. You being up won't bother me. I like to nap and relax more than sleep. So its all good.

I'm hoping someone offers to pick me up from the airport (hint, hint). I have no idea on time yet, do you?

I'd pick you up, but I am not coming in till Monday. Have to spend Father's day with my father. And since DD's father has never been in the pic, we always are together.

7 hours?? That's nuts.

1:15 seems like a good arrival time! :thumbsup2

7 hours?? Sounds like my drive home the other day.

Is anyone interested in seeing a Cirque du Soleil show? I've never been to one and I would love to go!!! I would not minding going to dinner and Thunder (shhh, don't tell DH!!) This is not something I would normally do and I will probably die of embarrassment, but I'm game :thumbsup2 I think Tony and Tina's would be fun too (they do that one in Vancouver too, but I've never been!).

Because this is my first time, everything would be new and fun for me. I don't really have any suggestions of what I'd like to do - not until my second trip!!!

I guess I am a wild woman now......

Yep, you are a wild woman now. Just have to make appointments at Atomic and you are good to go.

You were always a wild woman. It just took meeting us to bring it out in you!! ;)

The Cirque shows are spectacular!
I've seen several of them. Oh heck, here are all the shows I've seen here. I'm not bragging, just saying in case anyone has any questions. :rolleyes1 (Seriously, the locals discounts are what saves us. If not for those, I'd never be able to afford to go, so it's not as big of a deal as it seems)

Anyway, I've seen:
Love
KA
Mystere
Zumanity
Danny Gans
Phantom of the Opera
Mamma Mia
Siegfreid and Roy
Dirk Arthur Xtreme Magic
Scarlett Princess of Magic
Carrot Top
Bottoms Up
Mac King
Ronn Lucas
American Superstars
Skintight
Showgirls
Jubilee
X - An Erotic Adventure
Splash
Spamalot
The Producers
V -The Ultimate Variety Show
Crazy Girls
Stomp Out Loud
Tony and Tina's Wedding
Mega Bubble Show
Nathan Burton Magic Show
Popovich Pet Comedy Show

Some of those aren't around anymore as that list includes not just the ones since we moved here, but over the years as well.

I cannot wait to see either Chippendales or Thunder From Down Under!!:banana::banana:

Damn, so what haven't you seen besides nakie men?

Lucky ducks! I want $50 tickets to LOVE!!!!

Of course I want to, but right now that's not economically feasible. :sad1: Stupid needing money to pay for stuff. hmph!

Lets try to see Love. My mother say it and loved it. But heck, I will see almost anything.

ME?? I think not. I'll take your camera and take lots of pics of you. :thumbsup2

Yes, thats the place I ate at last week. It was yummy. We don't have to eat there in June. Just tossed it out as a nice place, huge portions, and great drinks. Pizzas were big enough to share, and were only $13. Mango colada was mmmmmm, also $13.

DBF wants to do a quick trip up there sometime soon. Hopefully next month. Talking with him about it tonight.

Well, our other trip is over, what else do we have to do???

Yes, the timeshare has a shuttle, and from the info on tripadvisor, you can arrange pretty much any ride, within reason.

Definitely stay with us. If you go to www.summerbayresort and look at the Las Vegas accomodations, the suites that sleep 6 are pretty big. I'm sure we can figure something out for you, Theresa. Don't worry about it. Besides, how can you be a wild woman if you don't stay with the other wild women??? :dance3:

Ummm, what is Olympic Garden??
