I'm hoping someone offers to pick me up from the airport (hint, hint). I have no idea on time yet, do you?

With the flights I'm looking at, it seems like arrival should be around 1:15 or so. There are some funky flights (over 7 hours :scared1:). Uh, no thanks!!! Give me a direct flight (two and a half hours!!!).

7 hours?? That's nuts.

1:15 seems like a good arrival time! :thumbsup2

Is anyone interested in seeing a Cirque du Soleil show? I've never been to one and I would love to go!!! I would not minding going to dinner and Thunder (shhh, don't tell DH!!) This is not something I would normally do and I will probably die of embarrassment, but I'm game :thumbsup2 I think Tony and Tina's would be fun too (they do that one in Vancouver too, but I've never been!).

Because this is my first time, everything would be new and fun for me. I don't really have any suggestions of what I'd like to do - not until my second trip!!!

I guess I am a wild woman now......

:scared1: Have you seen the airport and how insane it is??? :scared1:

:rotfl:

Seriously though, it's a madhouse with all the taxis. I always let Ruben go when ever my mom comes into town. :rolleyes1

But once you get your flight info, let me know and I'll see what I can do. :) I can't remember who all is arriving on Sunday, but if you and Theresa will be here then if nothing else, the three of us can go out. And maybe Amy or Jane will join us. :dance3:

Sounds like a good plan. Although since it is Father's Day, I'm not sure I'll be able to get out of here, unless I can somehow plan something for my 3 kids to do with their dad... hey, what a concept, for Father's Day!!

Yes to Cirque, Tony & Tina's, still not sure about Thunder...

Hmmmmmm, sounds good. I think a number of the activities were going to be at the MGM, right? I checked the specials and it's good (a little bit more) for the bungalow suites (whatever the heck that means). Has anyone ever stayed here?

I haven't stayed at MGM, but I have stayed at TI (I love TI), Stratosphere, Wynn, and our timeshare. But it seems super nice & I love the location.
The RFC has amazing waiters.

How long are you staying? I saw a Cirq show last summer, AMAZING!! Although the little girl really freaked me out a few times, it was very good.

That's what I'm going to do as well..... I'll take Frank out for dinner on Friday or Saturday, then he can have some father/son time with Jesse on Sunday (after they drop me off ;)).

Which Cirque show are you interested in? I think some of them are less expensive than others, right? I would love any of them - never seen one live before!

I can only stay until Thursday morning. DH has a business trip leaving on Thursday and it's probably best if I'm there to take care of our son (although with his attitude right now, maybe not!!!) :rotfl2:

She's going to try; she said if there wasn't room in the timeshare, she would get a hotel room. She's got some family stuff going on, and her brother found out a few months ago that he has pancreatic cancer. She really wants to go.

Something I noticed that they changed in the description of the timeshare "Suites are in 2 and 3 story buildings with no elevator." Cheryl, will that be a problem? I will still call and ask, but just wanted to let you know what is said.

Theresa, did you want to stay in the timeshare? We are getting close to 6 people, so it may be time to get a 2nd one. I think Debbie wants to stay in it as well, so if T & D are in for the timeshare, that gives us 6. Then, possibly Michelle and Doreen. There is still a timeshare available for 4 if we need it.

Stacie: can you call the timeshare and see if they will give you a ground floor room for medical reasons? (I can produce a doctor's note if necessary). Stairs just kill me. If they can't guarantee that, then I may have to go the MGM route instead too. Which would free up a place in the timeshare. By the way, I HAVE stayed in the MGM and it is very nice.
Not sure where the bungalows are--I've stayed in the towers.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's brother. How sad. I hope she is still able to make it.

No elevator? Yikes. 2 stories might not be so bad, but 3 would be. Can you request a room location?

So in the timeshare now are:
Stacie(lee)
Stacie(rita)
Cheryl
Wendy
Debra
and possibly Theresa?
That's the six right?

I checked and the bungalow suites just seem to be bigger. So for $10 more per night, I guess it's up to you how much room you want/need.

I forgot there is also a Rainforest Cafe in MGM. We didn't really have any plans there specifically, BUT we are going to Dick's and Thunder From Down Under which is right across the street (diagonally) at Excalibur, so you'd be right there for that.
And it's directly across from New York New York, where Stacie wanted to eat one day.
And MGM is a stop on the monorail so that's a bonus there too, if we use that at all.

It's not really centrally located on the Strip, it's more down on the end, but not as bad as Mandalay Bay for example. And it's a nice place. Not trashy like Hooter's Hotel and Casino, or the Riviera, or one of those places.

Here is a map of the Strip so you can kind of see where it is:

Vegas.com is a great website for learning more about Vegas. It can all be a bit overwhelming, but it helps a little bit. lol

Hey hey hey! Don't make fun of my Riviera!!! At least they give me free rooms sometimes--it's Mom's favorite place! The Riv is a happenin' place ;) I almost got picked up at a slot machine by some old guy once, so it's dear to my heart.

Yes, you ARE wild woman. I hope we are there at the same time (I don't know what days I'll be there yet) so I can get to spend more time with you! And I would love to see a Cirque show--the only one I've seen is Mystere (but would be ok seeing that one again too)

Sounds like a good plan. Although since it is Father's Day, I'm not sure I'll be able to get out of here, unless I can somehow plan something for my 3 kids to do with their dad... hey, what a concept, for Father's Day!!

Ok, is it just sad that I'm not even sure what Thunder is? All I will say is that my one and only trip to Chippendale's I was thoroughly bored.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I would absolutely die to see LOVE. I don't know if I could afford it, but I've wanted to see it for the past four or so years. :lovestruc

I don't know what dates I'll be in Las Vegas yet. :confused3

You were always a wild woman. It just took meeting us to bring it out in you!! ;)

The Cirque shows are spectacular!
I've seen several of them. Oh heck, here are all the shows I've seen here. I'm not bragging, just saying in case anyone has any questions. :rolleyes1 (Seriously, the locals discounts are what saves us. If not for those, I'd never be able to afford to go, so it's not as big of a deal as it seems)

Anyway, I've seen:
Love
KA
Mystere
Zumanity
Danny Gans
Phantom of the Opera
Mamma Mia
Siegfreid and Roy
Dirk Arthur Xtreme Magic
Scarlett Princess of Magic
Carrot Top
Bottoms Up
Mac King
Ronn Lucas
American Superstars
Skintight
Showgirls
Jubilee
X - An Erotic Adventure
Splash
Spamalot
The Producers
V -The Ultimate Variety Show
Crazy Girls
Stomp Out Loud
Tony and Tina's Wedding
Mega Bubble Show
Nathan Burton Magic Show
Popovich Pet Comedy Show

Some of those aren't around anymore as that list includes not just the ones since we moved here, but over the years as well.

I cannot wait to see either Chippendales or Thunder From Down Under!!:banana::banana:

Oh hush! We won't drag you to OG but you are coming to Thunder. It'll be fun, even if the show is cheesy. :rotfl2:

I think they just call them bungalows. In the pics, they appeared to be regular rooms, just larger. I don't think they are in a separate area or anything.

OK, you can keep the Riviera. (hugs) It's ok, just not my first choice. I love Mirage, and the Venetian.

Mystere was good, really good. But it was actually my least favorite of all the Cirque shows I've seen. KA is so awesome. You'd love it. And Love is a lot of fun and upbeat. Zumanity is fun too, but in a more adult way. ;)

Ok, is it just sad that I'm not even sure what Thunder is? All I will say is that my one and only trip to Chippendale's I was thoroughly bored.
But that's only because you haven't been with us! (Thunder is similar to Chippendales)

Love was really good and I'm not even a Beatles fan. They can be really expensive though. We lucked out with those tickets. Ticketmaster was having a sale the year we moved here. It had nothing to do with being local. Anyway, we were about 12 rows back from the stage, and scored tickets for the unheard of price of $50 each.

I've kept an eye out for a sale like that ever since, but they never had another one. :sad2:

Aren't you coming the whole week?
You know you wanna.......... :rolleyes1

Here is a link to the tripadvisor page with the reviews for the timeshare: http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor...er_Bay_Resort_Las_Vegas-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

Thanks for the link Beth. I always like to get info about where I am staying before I show up. I like how the person that "wouldn't return" still gave the place three stars or dots or whatever they call them on that site. I REALLY didn't need to see the photos of the bugs though. :scared: If anyone hears screaming, it means I found one of those things. :scared1:

Lucky ducks! I want $50 tickets to LOVE!!!!

Of course I want to, but right now that's not economically feasible. :sad1: Stupid needing money to pay for stuff. hmph!

:rotfl2: Sorry about that. I didn't see those till after. :rotfl:
But the post did say it was found in the bathroom which can happen at any hotel. They are attracted to water. I found one in the shower at a nice hotel in San Diego once. Scared the crap outta me!!!! :scared:

I just checked and for Love during that week, to get a decent seat (meaning not in the nose bleed section) it's running around $138 a ticket. Not sure if there will be any discounts offered then or not. Doubtful though since it is prime tourist season after all. :confused3

Me too!!! I never found them again. It was called a Summertime Sale on the Ticketmaster website. Ruben found a link to it on the slickdeals website he goes to. At the time I didn't know anything about Love so we almost didn't book it. lol
But we did, and we also got KA tickets for $50 each. We loved them both and I've always wanted to go back and take my older kids, but I've never, ever seen another deal like that.

Oh yeah. The money part. I always forget about that when I'm planning my vacations. :rolleyes1 :sad2: Well, at least the timeshare is cheap!!

How are you getting here by the way? Flying? Driving? Magic carpet? ;)

Bugs just don't belong indoors! We get the strangest looking bugs in the building I work in, lots of black widows too. :scared: I just don't like creepy crawlies! I don't know if I've ever stayed at a hotel that has had bugs. :confused3

I was looking at the LOVE tickets too. I've always wanted to go and this might be my only chance.

Magic carpet sounds nice! :thumbsup2 Throw a hot guy on there too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm thinking I'll be flying, 'cause it'll probably cost the same to drive, but flying will be easier and faster. :woohoo: I check the DING fares everday for Las Vegas, they've showed up a few times, but I've never had the money did buy them.

No they don't belong indoors. Actually I'd be happy if there were no bugs anywhere. OMG, you have black widows where you work??? I'll take a big ole roach over a black widow any day. :scared1:

I think you should go see Love. There is still time to save up for it. It's a great show. Are you a Beatles fan? If so, and you really have wanted this for a long time then you should go for it. You'll already be here and that's part of the expense right there. So why wait until you come back? Might as well go for it!

:rotfl2: Somehow I knew you'd go for the magic carpet option and I had a feeling you'd ask for a cute guy on the side. :rotfl2:

Easier and faster is a good thing. I don't like to fly, but at least it's not far. Probably what......an hour or two flight? That's better then a long drive through the boring desert.
