Old Disney Park photos

My old Disney park pictures are at my parents' house, but I do have some old Disney tickets scanned - they were my parents', when they went for their honeymoon.

Can you believe that 1-day park admission was only $13??? And EPCOT wasn't even open yet!

great pictures! unfortunately I won't be able to contribute any pictures any time soon. My first visit to WDW was 2004, so I guess I won't be able to post any of them before 2014 for them to pass on as "old"!

I LOVED this thread!!!!!! I'm so sad that all of our old vacation photos are at my parents' house in Louisiana and I can't go look through them right now. So many memories! And so many that I don't remember - you guys are like elephants - remembering songs from 10+ years ago?

I kind of like how the character greets used to be - I think it looks like all of the kids are playing with Mickey - but I can only imagine the nightmare it woud be like today.

Maybe my BF can get his pictures from his mom's house - the last (and only) time he went to WDW was right after Epcot opened. He had no idea there were 4 parks now!

I wish I had a scanner (the one I have isnt compatible with my laptop) I have tons of old pics. I also have a Reader's Digest from the 60's about WDW. One of my coworkers found a bunch of boxes of old old issues and I just happened to pick that one to read through. . there had to be hundreds of issues, and I only grabbed a few and this was in it. Pretty cool to read about WDW before it was built. I haven't pulled it out in a few years, but I *think* it was right after Walt passed away. Has the artist renderings of Epcot and everything. Maybe I'll see if I can take a close picture or something til I get access to a scanner.

Oh and keep posting pics! They're great!! I keep hoping for an old Diamond Horseshoe pic. . my great uncle played fiddle in the 70's, and we have NO pictures of him working (even though we visited him yearly)

I think I have tickets simalar to those posted! They are from 1985 I will have to look for that picture album!

I scanned in over 600 photographs and memorabilia items in the past 5 days.

My first family trip was 1990 so I'll start posting some from then!

We had our character breakfast at the Empress Lilly, named after Walt's wife (Fulton's Crab House now). Chef Mickey's was also in Downtown Disney at that time. Note the name at the top of the first picture.

We had just arrived in WDW on our very first trip, went straight to the MK and almost the first thing we ever saw was this parade! What a magical beginning!

And we would later see the blue spires in this float recycled many times in other parades. We have a great picture of the 3 Fairy Godmothers with these spires in 2005.

DS still loves the Simpsons!

Big people and kids still wait in long, long lines to ride little, slow cars along a railed race track! (DS only stopped riding it when he was 13. Guess it was practice for that Learner's Permit!)

And big people and kids still wait in long, long lines to ride an elephant that soars into the wind for a few brief moments....DS even rode it when he was 11! (Guess it was more practice for that Learner's Permit!)

Notice in the photo of your DS with the Bart shirt on, that another boy in the background also has a Bart shirt on. 1990 was the height of the Simpsons popularity. Who did not have a "Don't have a cow, man" T-shirt?

Thanks for sharing. Keep putting up more please.

Not only did he have that t-shirt and many more but a set of Simpson family figures picked up at a yard sale. He fussed so much for them (for $2.00 I think) that he wouldn't go to swim lessons unless I let him buy them with his own money! Now he has the dvds to play at school. His generation grew up on them I think! We have a teacher here at school who thinks that almost every lesson in life can be illustrated with a Simpson video (and would show them if he could get around our strict media viewing guidelines!)

You may be sorry for encouraging me! I have more memorabilia from 1990 and some pictures from 1992 and 1994 and and and............

If only I could find my 1979 stuff.

I've only just begun to post.... Oops sorta stole that!

Kathy, these are some fantastic pictures!! I actually have some pictures of my brother next to one of the turtles (Donatello, I think?) waiting to get an autograph, us in front of "The Lineup" display, and a picture of April waving from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles yellow van.

I went to EPCOT on the 1st and saw the "Leave a Legacy" exhibit for the first time - I do not remember seeing it back in '96 - maybe I just don't remember?

What you all said about the Simpsons are true! Hehe, me and my brother grew up watching them. :)

I can't believe you scanned 600+ pictures in that amount of time.....wow!
