Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Thanks, PW, Legs, TB and Eric!

So glad to see all u florida peoples are ok. And Eric, Ugh! Going from the lovely snow in MI and NY to the hurricanes in FL. Oye!

Eric-
I will be leaving IL on Sunday, my dad and I are driving as far as we can that day then on Monday we will arrive in Disney. This giving us a chance to hang out together and figure things out before check in. We should meet up on Tuesday night, maybe somewhere to eat. (my dad will probably be with me) There are some great restuarants in Downtown Disney Marketplace. I can give you a call when I arrive or you can call me whenever. Oooo and I can show you my ring. :) (i know guys don't get as excited about that kind of stuff as girls do)

Well, let's see that ring, MDP! You're going to have to scan it and post it here for us!! :teeth:

I was thinking that too PW, I will have to do that once i get to FL though, everything at home is packed.

Probably won't here from me until i get to FL. Except you Eric.

Talk to you soon.

Karen

Ack! She's going to make us wait! (We understand, MDP!) :teeth:

Have a safe trip getting there!!

Congrats MP! What an exciting time for you with everything going on!

I'm still busy, but didn't work much this week with Brianna not being in camp and her surgery this past Wed. Everything went wonderful and she's on her road to recovery. Hoping for her to be well enough for her first day of school Monday. We went to her open house today and met her Kindergarten teacher. There are only 12 kids in her class. Was really impressed with everything and glad that I made the decision to send her there. Getting all her school supplies together and labeled.

Going through a very weird point in my life. It seems like that everything that can go wrong has been going wrong. It just doesn't make much sense. Just wanting this all to be over with and soon so life can go make to some normalcy. That would be nice. Right now everything in my life has been put on hold for one reason or another. HATE THAT!

Had an exciting  last weekend in Alabama. Looked at the map where the hurricane might be going and went in the opposite direction. A lot of folks from around here went to Orlando. I learned with going through Hurricane Hugo there is no such thing as being inland enough. Especially with Florida being so flat. I learned to go on "vacation" else where.

Hi, Suzanne...great to "see" you! :)

Glad Brianna's surgery went well. I guess if you went to the Open House today, she must be feeling pretty good. Just 12 kids in her kindergarten class? Wow! Sure sounds like you're sending her to the right place. I went to DS's school's "post-registration" on Tuesday. Found his classroom, picked up some things. I can't believe he's in 6th grade this year! :faint: I feel great about his class having just 20 kids. MUCH better than his FL school with 35 in a class. You literally had to squeeze in between the desks to get any where.

Sorry things are getting put on hold. Hope it's all falling into place soon!

Hi FLM and welcome back!
Glad your dd's surgery went well and that you like her school.

DD is in a charter school which is a public school. My dd has 18 kids in her 2nd grade class. (charter schools are allowed to cap enrollment). They kept all the teacher's assistants for this year plus added a full time music teacher, FT art teacher, FT spanish teacher, and FT PE teacher. Not sure if they have all that in the regular public schools.

DD's dad didn't get her today. He told me last week. I don't know if it was because of work or his social life. But I do better if I don't have to see him. Anyway, today I was cutting an apple for dd with the Pampered Chef apple slicer and dd walks up and says "Daddy's gf has one of those." "Daddy has a gf now". And now I feel icky:(

 I know it's difficult, but try not to feel icky. :( Have you been to e-harmony lately? Just for the heck of it, click the button to search for someone. I've come across a few that way. Surprised me. LOL! :) Any interests? You might find a nice guy there! (I should talk...LOL!)

HG was still open on my match list so I closed him out with the reason that we are (or should I say were) communicating outside of eHarmony. Then I pressed the button to get a new match. Now I've tried that many times and nothing ever happened. I figure if eHarmony has one for me, they will email me. Well...this time a match came up! But he is again....on the west coast of FL. ACK! Not sure if I will communicate with him because of the distance. On the plus side- he is only 46!
Is it better to wait and let the man communicate with you? Let him be the pursuer?

No, there is nothing I do outside of work besides go out with a friend once or twice a month. And take care of dd and do stuff with her.

Woooooooooo hooooooooooooooo!! Congratulations on the match! :) Let the guy persue? I think with eharmony, we pretty much have to send the questions first and they reply. Not much choice there. I say go ahead and start with him. :teeth: :Pinkbounc You never know!! If the distance is too much, you can always update your profile to it being more in your area. But I wouldn't pass this one up.

I was matched with one today when I went searching. He's 51. :earseek: I'll trade you!! I'll take the 46 year old! :teeth:

I understand the no interest thing. Who has time when working and having a child! That's your life. Difficult to get out and meet anyone.

I'd correspond with the eharmony guy!! ::yes::

When they email you that you have a match, don't they also email the other person? So the guy could also be the one to start the questions.
Not sure how it works if you go searching for a match. I don't know if he knows on the other end that I've found him, LOL!

Never mind! I went back to eHarmony and found that he had closed me because he is pursuing another relationship:(

Well that tells me that either one of us has the option to start the communication.

Hmmmmmmmm...I've always had to go first. Even if you find a match, I would think they're going to notify him of having a match before they send anything you've done. I know there's been a few times I haven't gotten anything from them, but when I'm checking there I notice something new. They're usually lagging behind a few hours. Ha!

With eharmony either can begin the communication. Leggs have you tried one of the other on-line dating places. I tried another place just for the fun of it before. Having a kid makes finding a guy hard to begin with and then dating a guy hard with the keeping the two worlds seperate at times.

Brianna starts her first day of Kindergarten tomorrow. She's all ready to go. Her uniform is all ironed and ready to go. Filled out the million and one page of paperwork and hopefully, but unlikely, the last check.

Going away for an adult only weekend away. Excited and looking forward to it. It'll be nice to get away. :)

Good luck with Brianna's first day of K. Do you feel sad at all with her starting school? I know I did. It was exciting but sad too.

EHarmony is the only site I have tried.

So, is it a girl's weekend or maybe a weekend with dbf? ;)

Hi y'all, I'm back! We had such a wonderful time in Wyoming - we hiked to beautiful waterfalls, took a trail down into a canyon, and rode an aerial tram to the top of a mountain. I absolutely fell in love with the beauty of Wyoming. Jackson is such a great town - Western sophistication at its best. Even with all the hiking, we both still managed to gain weight (we had dessert every night!)! :p I do love Disney, but nothing is as beautiful as nature!

I think it is interesting that e-harmony is so hard to figure out. What do they gain by not making the "rules" explicit?

FM, I hope your dd has a wonderful first day of school tomorrow! I'm glad her surgery went well.

MDP, you can at least tell us about the ring and the proposal!! ;) :Pinkbounc :bounce: Will your fiance' be visiting you at Disney? :smooth:

I so do not want to go to work tomorrow morning. :( To make it worse, my babies are still at the kennel since they do not allow Sunday pick up. I'll have to get them early and then run to work. At least I am sure they will be relieved to be home, even if I can't stay with them.

Hi TB- Welcome home! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Yes, nature is awesome. I remember hiking a trail on Mt Ranier in WA. I've never been to Wyoming but it sounds like I should check it out. Did you see Old Faithful? Is that in Yellowstone? LOL!
