EHarmony IS taking forever. Two months since a match:rolleyes:

I have to say, I was also at a loss for words when we got into open communication.

PW- I got it! LOL. Just scanned to the end and saw his name.
Sorry you're feeling down. Like CM said, I think getting a job will help and keep your mind occupied. It does mine. But what a job doesn't do is help at 3:00am when the mind demons show up :scared1: That is the worst time of the day for me.
Hopefully, you'll get one any day now, Legs. :)

Were you at a loss? I only had "talked" with that nice guy in Sarasota when I was in FL. The one who ran into the "old friend" who is now also divorced and they're giving it a try. My luck. I loved what he said! Great conversationalist.

Glad you got it! LOL! Yes, I think a job would help occupy my mind. Today has not been a good day. Too much  . We need to get you sleeping at 3 a.m. so the demons don't disturb you then! Tylenol PM occasionally? Warm milk?

I had PM'd Suzanne today since I hadn't seen a post from her in a while. She wanted me to give everyone an update! :)

She's doing fine...exhausted from going back to work though. Says Bri has pre-op testing tomorrow and then tonsils out next week. (Sending hugs and prayers for both of them!) :)

The ex is being ridiculous. She's trying to get things taken care of...hopefully for good.

So things seem hectic for her right now, but she'll be back when she can.

Miss you, Suzanne! :wave2:

Yes, work is exhausting!:teeth:
Thanks for the update on FLM.

P&PD for Brianna. And good luck with the ex. Hope it is over once and for all. Hope things settle down soon and you're back here. We miss you! :D

I'm not awake every night at 3am. The insomnia comes and goes. But when I am awake then it is the worst feeling.

DD starts 2nd grade tomorrow. She is so excited! (How in the world could she be 7 already and in the 2nd grade?) Of course, I will take photos and walk her to her class:D

Glad your hours aren't until 3 a.m. every night, Legs. :earseek:

I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day for your dd. They certainly do grow up too quickly. Hard to believe ds is headed into 6th..."middle school." :scared1:

Vicki...Did you start your job today? How did it go? Do you like it? :)

Legs, when I used to not be able to sleep I would journal. Some how putting my thoughts on paper made me feel a little free-er and I was more likely to be able to fall asleep.

Starting middle school - wow! He will be grown before you know it PW. When I started junior high I was terrified. I went to a parochial school for elementary and had heard horror stories of drugs and violence in junior high. I ended up absolutely loving it. I hope your son will too!

Asking Marv about his job sounds good! Men definitely love talking about their careers. Which reminds me of one of the guys I met from match. He is a biochemist. We met for appetizers and drinks and I knew right away I wasn't interested. This was the guy who told me I am more attractive in person than in my pictures. He obviously had one thing of his mind. Anyway, most of the "date" he spent talking about his ex-wife and his roommate (who he thinks is mentally ill). It felt like a therapy session! After the appetizers were finished, I told him I needed to go. His replay, "But I haven't even told you about my job yet". LOL! He actually called me back for a second date - I couldn't believe he couldn't tell I wasn't interested.

Wow, Tiger Bear! That's too much! LOL! The guy I went out with a couple weeks ago asked me if I thought he was better looking in person than in his picture. Ha ha! He said his daughter told him his picture doesn't do him justice. He bugged me when he asked why I ordered a ceasar salad and not steak since we were in a steak place. He wants to tell me what I should order? Then later he said that he would never live in my development because of the association fees. I told him it was a lot cheaper than what I was paying in FL! ;) He was surprised. GOOD...DO NOT live in my development! Then I don't have to run into you! LOLOLOLOL! It's bad enough I pass that restaurant on a walk sometimes, and it's his hangout. :crazy2:

LOL! That is funny. So, did he look better in person? :p And what did you tell him? :o Talk about being put on the spot!

Hi everyone!

I didn't start my job today but I do tomorrow! Today I ran around doing all of the errands that I should have been doing while I've been out of work!

The house inspection went really well. Nothing at all wrong with the house! The inspector said that is very unusual. I am very excited and it was fun to look at every aspect of the house!

PW~Any Marv news? My dd starts school Friday and she'll be in the 10th grade! How fast time has gone. Only three more years and she'll be in college, oh my! She is so grown up now. At least she hasn't started dating yet...don't know if I can handle that yet!

Legs~How was your dd's first day of 2nd grade? Have you started reading the book club book yet? I have but am not anywhere near where I should be!

TB~A day closer to Yellowstone!

Have a great evening!

Vicki

I told him he looked better than his picture did. Not that his picture was bad, but he did look nicer in person.

LOL! You're too funny, Vicki. Marv news? I did get something from him today. Might be interesting based on his job. LOL! We'll have to see.

I hope Suzanne and Bri are doing okay!! How about you Legs? Anyone else down there?

Hi,
I'm ok. I kept checking the weather on-line at work Fri. I noticed the hurricane's pressure kept dropping and dropping (a sign of strengthening) but the winds were staying 110. I also noticed it seemed to be turning east earlier than it was supposed to. Then it suddenly become a Cat 3 @ 125 then a minute later a Cat 4 at 145. I thought our local online paper made a typo on the wind speed, LOL! Then I saw weather.com was reporting the same. Then they reported the turn to the east. Everyone must have been trying to access weather.com at the same time because it took forever for the warnings/watches page to load. We were now under some kind of watch or warning. Aftercare at dd's school was calling all parents to come get their kids.
Earlier that day- I was woken up at 2:30am Fri. by a rain band. Bad thunder/lightening!! Electricity was out for one hour. I had no batteries for the radio so I had no access to storm info. At least I had working batteries in the flashlight! I thought- what if the electricity doesn't come on? My alarm won't work to get up for work. The coffeepot won't brew and I'll get a caffeine headache (no coke or other caffeine in the house). How would I get the garage door open to get the car out? And I still wouldn't have any storm info. And I am very low on groceries! And I have a HUGE black olive in the backyard right outside my bedroom window that needs to be trimmed.
So when I left work early Fri. and got dd, we went straight to the store and loaded up on groceries (including cokes!) and batteries. I got home and they had called off all watches and warnings for our area
That's ok- I'll be ready for the next time. The good thing about what happened is it really made me think about what I needed and should do to prepare. I do not want to get caught unprepared like that ever again!
And I am in the process of getting estimates for tree trims. One I got is for $400!!!!!!

I PM'd FLM when I heard it was heading for Tampa- but I haven't heard anything from her.

We were suppposed to ge to Animal Kingdom today for my sister's birthday:rolleyes:
Maybe next weekend.

Glad you and dd are okay, Legs! Good lesson you learned without any bad consequences. I PM'd Suzanne also but haven't heard a peep.

Keep checking those trimming companies. $400 is nuts!

Had a PM from Suzanne. She and Bri are fine...went to AL and are back now. Glad they're ok! :)

Glad to hear that you are both safe Legs and FLM! What I have seen on the news looks horrific and I feel so sorry for those who lost everything and loved ones.

Legs~I probably would not have been prepared either...I am so bad about that! Two winters ago we had a horrible snow storm about 2 ft. and the whole city was shut down...I, of course, had not planned and had hardly any food nor did I even own a snow shovel! Luckily I didn't loose my electricity but a lot of people did. I was snowed in for 4 days....but I survived...good thing my DD was in Phoenix for Spring Break!

PW~My first two days of work were great! I am a little overwhelmed....sooooo much to learn but everyone is great and the company really takes care of their employees! I am excited about my future with them! I will have a brand new lap top next week and they are building walls to seperate some larger offices into smaller ones so I'll have my own office...no cubicle! It's going to be a challenging job but the rewards are worth it.

Spent all day doing errands with my DD. Took her to the eye dr. she needs both new contacts and glasses. Then we went school shopping and of course I found some new things for me for my new job! Good thing found some good sales! Then we bought her school supplies. Spent way too much money!

TB~Are you gone to Yellowstone?

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!

Vicki

That's good to hear. Glad you like it! Wow! A company that cares about their employees...I thought that was unheard of for many years now. ;) You must have lucked out! Enjoy it!! :)

I'm still here. We leave on Tuesday morning. I have to take the babies to the kennel tomorrow afternoon - which means they will be there from late Monday afternoon to Monday morning. :( I know it can't be helped but it still makes me sad.

I'm still looking for a jacket - it will be cold at night in Wyoming! August in Texas is not the best time to look for warm clothing. I'm mad at myself because I had a courderoy jacket from Old Navy that I absolutely loved and I must have lost it because I can't find it. :(

I finished painting on Thursday :bounce: :Pinkbounc and a realtor is coming by tomorrow. Lets hope she gives me some good news.

Friday night we went to a fusion Vietnamese resturant - definitely not as good as the two Thai restuarants we love. Anyone else enjoy ethnic food?

Legs, I'm glad you are OK. Being prepared for next time will be a good thing!

CM, I'm happy to hear you like your job so far! Work culture is so important.
