Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

Omg! I just read you are going back! That is so exciting! I was supposed to go in May to OKW, but I have to go to a christening & memorial service that same week, so I had to reschedule to October. I'm sad that I will miss May, but so excited because I got BLT!!! Your report has only made me more excited!!! Love it!!!

Is your bro going with you? I love how positive he seems & how much he embodies your " no shame lifestyle". I work with folks with disabilities, ( run an art program) & I totally want to borrow your slogan for work

Can't wait to read all about your new trip! So so psyched for you!!

I've been MIA on the disboards for awhile now, but I just saw this post and am so excited for you! Another trip so soon! I bet you are counting down the days until the end of May arrives.
Hmm...where are you staying? My guess would be AoA or POFQ.

Yeah, there are certain things happening around that time I have to be around for... my brother possibly graduating from high school, for one!

Hmmmmm... your brother's graduation or my daughter's sweet 16... I think your brother's possible graduation wins, hands down. Your brother is lucky to have such a wonderful big sister.

I guess we will have a good time without you. (Sigh)

And for your next stay... my money is on BWI. Can't wait for you to reveal the hotel.:hyper: Really, is there a bad place to stay at the happiest place on earth?

YAY:yay::yay::yay: Another trip, and before mine:headache: just kidding. That is going to be great. I can't wait to hear all about. And now you will get to ride the LM ride. You will have to let me know what you think (since we share the LM love) So fun. Can't wait to hear all about it.

I think that you are either staying in a LM room ;) or I think maybe CBR I know it has to be one of those :goodvibes Can't wait to find out.

That's so exciting!!!!! I'm going to guess AoA and more specifically LM. Can't wait to follow along!

YAYYYYYY DISNEY TRIP!!!

I'm happy that they still have Timothy at the Dumbo area, even if he's not on top of the spinners now.

The playground is so cute! And the peanuts in the ground - I cracked up so much when people were asking after the area opened if they used real peanut shells, haha.

Hahahaha that's so awesome that your dad was "That Guy!"

OMG so during our trip, I also finally saw the grass sea serpent for the firs time too. I knew it was there, because I had seen it in other people's pictures, but never knew exactly where it was!

Long story, but DH can't take off a whole week of work, so the boys and I are heading down two days ahead of him. I figured since there's just the four of us, we could do a standard room (and save some $$$!).

However, my boys are not thrilled with a Little Mermaid room :lmao: To quote my oldest "people will judge us". I have visions of us sneaking into the room at night, hiding behind giant icons, and only coming out in the manly Lion King section....so, if I can save up the cash (and possibly get a discount :worship:) we may be moving to a suite.

Aww!!! Hahahah, that is too cute. I don't think anyone will judge yall at all! Personally, I think those rooms are amazing and they don't look too girly from the pictures I've seen! I mean there's a portrait of Eric, and he's very manly! (Incidentally, that is a huge reason I want to stay there. ;)) Bahahah don't worry, I don't think yall will have to do any sneaking around! :rotfl: I bet there will be tons of boys staying in the Little Mermaid rooms too. I hope yall really enjoy it there! I don't think you can go wrong with a standard room or a suite! They all look amazing.

I'm always up for a :woohoo: or a :cheer2: for a new trip!

Or go on the original date and extend all the way through June 14. :) Now that would be an awesome trip! :dance3: My longest stay has been 13 days, it was wonderful......and I would have been fine with it being even a few days longer. :cool2:

Thanks! Well, if you're woohooing... :woohoo: Hahah!

Oh my goodness... that would be AMAZING. So far, my longest trips have been 5 nights each. This upcoming trip will be 7 and for me, that seems like SO MANY! Ahhh I can't wait.

Yes yes yes, I am!!! I CANNOT WAIT! Oh my goodness, you got BLT?! MY HOME. Oh man, I am so in love with that place. I'm gonna miss it so much on this next trip! But that's okay, can't stay in a deluxe every time. (Well... at least I can't. Hahah!) Anyways, I really hope you enjoy it there!

Unfortunately, he won't be able to go on this trip. He'll still be in school. He has big plans for his next trip though, whenever that may be! It's precious. But yeah, he really is a positive little guy. He LOVES Disney, which is wonderful. He's my Disney buddy. I respect you and all the people that work in that field. It takes a special kind of person! So thanks! Hahaha, feel free to borrow it! 'No shame' is the only way I know how to live! :rotfl:

I can't wait to go on it! Thank you so much! It's nice to know you'll be around for that TR too! :goodvibes

Well I hope you come back soon! Thank you though! Hahha yes, yes I am. (70.) Thanks for guessing!!!

Hmmmmm... your brother's graduation or my daughter's sweet 16... I think your brother's possible graduation wins, hands down. Your brother is lucky to have such a wonderful big sister.

Aww thank you so much for saying that.

I PROMISE, I want to meet yall someday! I think it would be so great! It'll happen one day.

Thanks for guessing! Hahha no, I don't think there is! As someone who has stayed at the majority of the value resorts (which some people would consider the 'worst') I can say with certainty that there IS no bad place!

YAY:yay::yay::yay: Another trip, and before mine:headache: just kidding. That is going to be great. I can't wait to hear all about. And now you will get to ride the LM ride. You will have to let me know what you think (since we share the LM love) So fun. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hahaha sorry! But thank you! I can't wait and YES!!!!! LITTLE MERMAID!!!! NEW FANTASYLAND! Wow wow wow I'm just so excited it's ridiculous! I may die and go to Heaven on the Little Mermaid ride. EEEEEE yay! :hyper: I will definitely let you know what I think!

Thanks for guessing! I'll let yall know soon. :)

That's so exciting!!!!! I'm going to guess AoA and more specifically LM. Can't wait to follow along!

YAY!!!!!!!!! Hahah I just read your reply to my comment on your TR where you asked about it, but I also saw that you were the last person to comment on MINE, so I figured you knew! Hahaha!

Yeah! I think it's really cool this way because he's welcoming everyone to the ride. SO adorable.

Hahah whaaaa? Silly people! I know though, I just love love love it. It's so well thought out and perfect.

It was awesome! He did a perfect job at it, too. He was hilarious!

You know what? I don't even know if I really knew it was there. (Uhh... weird sentence.) I mean, I'm not even sure I'd ever seen pictures of it! It's so weird though, because it's just RIGHT THERE... but I'd never seen it before! It's funny that we both just saw it for the first time.

I forgot to make a resort guess. My guess is AoA Little Mermaid. I know how much you love the Little Mermaid :thumbsup2

I have loved your trip report so far! I was looking for July reports and found yours and read it all in just a few days! You all truly had a magical vacationpixiedust:. I think your positive attitude really makes your trips so special. I am so happy you get to go back so soon! :woohoo:

HI Marissa!

Just wanted to check in with you and say - yay for May trips! Looks like we are bookending May with our trips. I'll start off the month and you can end the month. ;)

Um, can we also just take a moment to discuss the fabulousness that has been Once this season? So much information and action! Love it! And looks like your August will be returning next week! They've been on a roll with some good stuff lately.

Oh and this may be a bit late, but we have stayed at POR before and really liked it. It's so pretty and I like how I could walk around pretending I was in a Jane Austen novel or something, walking the grounds. Not totally accurate, but you get the drift, maybe? Also, the masks and decorations at POFQ would have totally freaked me out so I didn't really walk over that way. I haven't stayed there since they redid the rooms though.

Can't wait to hear more details about your trip!

Congrats on your upcoming trip. I will be missing you by a few days since I won't get there until June 8th.

Where are you staying???? Well, you booked late so I am going to guess the AKL or Kidani.

Looking forward to more details.

Okay, so I may have fallen SUPER behind in my TR reading. Like, months behind. But I'm all caught up now!

I had no idea that they give you the pre-meal picture at Akershus for free! I'll have to keep that in mind for next time.

The picture of Jacob and Cinderella at Akershus is so cute!

I almost always skip the America Adventure because my thought is that I live in America, so I'm not missing much. But I've rarely seen the Voices of Liberty because of this. There's just so much to see in Epcot!

I know what you mean about being sad to leave Epcot. It's definitely the park I miss the most!

I'm so glad the CM at Crystal Palace bent the rules for you guys. I get that kids are excited to be in Disney, but when the parents don't even try to do anything to correct the bad behavior, it drives me crazy! Clearly you guys were much more appreciative of Pooh!

OMG HOW HAVE I NEVER NOTICED THE BUNNY BOOTY AT THE FRONT OF THE LOGS ON SPLASH MOUNTAIN?!? I am ashamed of myself.

The last time I was on Splash Mountain, I had the brilliant idea of taking a picture of the view at the top of the hill, and let's just say that my camera is still mad at me 10 months later (ugh, has it really been that long?!?). The worst part is that the picture didn't even turn out well because it was dusk and the lighting was weird. Sad day.

Storybook Circus turned out SO much better than I thought! I'm not a big circus person, but I love how it looks.

I'm seriously impressed with how much you guys are getting done in MK on a Friday in August. :worship:

I can't wait to hear more about your May trip!!

Marissa, I would just LOVE to go to Disney with you. I know I would have a blast!!!

Oh my goodness, what a sweet thing to say! Thank you! I bet we would have a WONDERFUL time! :goodvibes

I forgot to make a resort guess. My guess is AoA Little Mermaid. I know how much you love the Little Mermaid :thumbsup2

That's okay, thanks for guessing now! Hahha oh yes, I LOVE my Little Mermaid! :thumbsup2

Aww thank you so much! That's so nice! We really, really did. It's crazy! Aww, you're so sweet! I really appreciate that. I know, I'm so excited to go back! AHHH yay. It's going to be AMAZING!!! I can't wait to share more about it!

Hi!! It's always so nice to hear from you! I wish we'd be there at the same time! That would be so cool. At least we both get to go back though!

RIGHT? It has been AMAZING! Goodness. I swear to you, when the last episode started and it was the father and son, I said to myself, "THAT is the guy from the hospital." AND I WAS RIGHT! Hahah, I was very proud of myself, but anyways, wow, it certainly has been awesome. I have no idea where it's going! I just wonder what that guy's going to do with all his information!

Oh that's okay! Not too late at all, I love hearing people's thoughts on resorts! Especially since, (don't tell anyone) I'm STILL changing my mind at least once a day on which resort to book. Seriously. I'm booking tomorrow though, so I better decide soon! It does sound like you had a really great time at POR though! Did yall stay in a mansion room, or Alligator Bayou? I love the look of the rooms now that they've been refurbed. They're so nice looking! Don't worry, the Mardi Gras stuff at POFQ freaks me out, too.

Yay, thanks! Can't wait to share.

Congrats on your upcoming trip. I will be missing you by a few days since I won't get there until June 8th.

Thank you! OH MAN, I totally forgot you'd be there around that time! Too bad we're JUST missing each other! :(

Thanks for guessing! I'm booking tomorrow, so I'll be sharing resort info (somewhat) soon!

I can't wait to hear more about your May trip!!

Yay! Thanks for catching up, it's nice to hear from you again on here!

They do! They give you a few copies, too. It's great! I'm always up for a built-in souvenir!

Aww that's so nice of you to say. Thanks! (On behalf of Jacob. Haha!)

Hahah yeah, I agree. I will say that I recommend seeing the American Adventure show at least once. It's great! It makes you feel all patriotic, which is always a good thing. Voices of Liberty are so perfect! I want to try to see them every trip now.

I know what you mean! I miss all the parks, but every time I'm really really REALLY missing Disney (every day) I always mentally insert myself into Future World. Ahhhhh, what a place. Can't wait to be there again!

Oh, I know! Those kids were just... terrifying. I've seen overly excited kids, but these kids were just on a whole different level. Their parents just sat there and took pictures. :confused3

I have no idea! Have you sat in the front before? Seeing as how much you love bunnies, I think you'd notice that!

Aww, I hope your camera forgives you soon! I always want to take a picture up there too, but then I get too excited to go down the hill to remember photography. Also, my camera would NEVER forgive me for that. :rotfl:

It did! I've heard it looks even more awesome now that it's all finished! I'm not a circus fan either. They make me sad. The theme is great though! I was pleasantly surprised, definitely.

Hahah thank you! We really were lucky to get so much done that day. It was great!

YAY THANKS! I can't wait to share when I know more! (It's my fault that I don't more. I haven't had a chance to make any plans! YIKES!)

Hi!!! :wave2: I just found your trip report.....well, I suppose I found it a few months back, and I never re-found it until just now. :) But I am here now!! I have only read through your first day, but I am going to go back and catch up. I have to comment on a couple things, though!

Your AMAZING room at BLT!!!!!!:cool1: So awesome!!! I am loving your pics from there. We stayed at BLT on the 5th floor - first room off of the skywalk if you take a right past the elevators. We loved our location, perfect for taking a quick walk to go get a refill on those fantastic mugs!

FULL HOUSE REFERENCES!!!!!! I am so there with you on that! Just the other day, I saw that the Disney episodes were on and I recorded them to watch with the kids. They keep asking to watch them over and over again! :) We never made it over to the Grand Floridian while we were there, but I am planning on it for the next time. I tell my DH all the time that they are the only reason I want to visit there! Glad to know I am not alone in my "I have to see all of the places that they were at, even if I can find the garbage can they threw their maps away in at the beginning of the episode" craziness! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Okay, I am going to go catch up, I am sure I will have more comments later! :goodvibes

Okay, I haven't watched the videos yet, but I am done! :cool1: I just followed your links, so I know I missed some stuff here or there. I did see you have a trip planned in May??? How EXCITING!!! Can't wait to hear where you are going to be staying.

Let's see....so many things I wanted to comment on while I was reading!! I will never remember them all because, well, I am a mom...do we really remember anything when our kids are young? :rotfl:

You asked in one update who knew what happened in Full House at that spot in WS...I KNOW!!!! :thumbsup2

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Veggie Tales, too! I used to watch it in high school with my friends loooooooooong before I had kids, so I can honestly say that I love it, not just them! :)

Love that your dad was "That Guy!" I keep hoping for it for my DH...he would be perfect!

I know I had about a thousand more things I wanted to tell you, but I can't remember!! Oh well, just as long as you know I love your trip report...it makes me smile. Your pics are fabulous, and you are soooooooo making me want to go back now! :goodvibes

Yay! Thank you for re-finding my TR () and getting caught up!

Oh yes, BLT was honestly the most perfect thing ever! I am so in love with that place. It must have been so cool for yall to be so close to the skyway! Man, I love that place... everything about it!

Hahaha YES!!! I always love it when people appreciate my Full House references, because let me tell ya, I'm full of 'em! Your kids have good taste, I must say! ;) Hahah seriously though! The Grand Floridian has always been my ultimate dream resort, and not only because it's absolutely gorgeous, but because FULL HOUSE! Honestly back then, that's the only resort I actually knew about! HAHA, I don't know if that was the actual trashcan, but I sure can pretend it is!

YAY!!! Thanks for getting caught up so quickly! You're just in time for the end... which really means the beginning of a new trip! ;) My videos aren't anything special, they're just silly little random clips most of the time, but I still like them haha.

Aww, don't even worry about it! That happens to me all the time actually. And I don't even have kids. :lmao:

HAHA YES!!! That's such a funny moment in the episode.

Do you really?! That's perfect! I haven't watched my Veggie Tales videos in so long... I miss them! They're hilarious and adorable.

I hope your husband gets to be 'THAT GUY' someday! That would be awesome! We all LOVED that my dad was given that distinct honor. Haha!

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments! I'm so glad you got all caught up and have been enjoying it so much! That makes me so happy. Thank you again!

The One Where the Trip Comes To An End

August 3, 2012

There was one specific thing that Anna had been wanting to do the entire week: MEET MERIDA.

I did not object to that. Merida is awesome, and I'm always up for a character meet, so we headed that way!

Aren't these pretty?

SDC13697.jpg

Along the way, I decided I needed my picture taken. So yeah.

IMG_3487.jpg

IMG_3488.jpg

My eyes always look so squinty in photos. It's weird. Anyways...

When we reached her meet and greet spot, there was already a line and Merida wasn't out yet.

There are some great views over there!

Hey look! We just ate there! How novel.

SDC13698.jpg

SDC13700.jpg

SDC13701.jpg

SDC13702.jpg

The character handler told us when Merida would be back, and there was plenty of time. There was something I had to check... in the bathroom... since I'm a girl. I figured I had time.

So I left to go to the bathroom.

OMG. YALL. BIGGEST blunder of the trip, right here.

I got to the nearest bathroom (in Cosmic Ray's) and I was greeted with the longest bathroom line to ever exist. If you're a girl though, you totally get why I had to wait. So I got to the front of the line, when suddenly this mother came in practically pushing her daughter along and hurriedly said to me, "MY DAUGHTER HAS TO GO SO BADLY CAN WE JUST GO REAL QUICK IT WILL ONLY BE A MINUTE MORE FOR YOU TO WAIT." A stall door opened and they RAN to it. Like, at least give me two thirds of a second to answer, please. I always give people the benefit of the doubt, but I honestly don't even think it was her daughter that was having the emergency, because why else would she have to go in with her? She was not a toddler.

I was so annoyed, because I'd already been waiting at least fifteen minutes, and Merida was set to come back out in just a couple minutes. I knew I still had time to get in and out before my family reached the front of the line to meet Merida, so as long as someone came out of a stall I would be good.

Yeah, that didn't happen. Nobody came out of any of the stalls for another three or four minutes... mother and daughter included. :headache:

Grand.

Would you like to find out what else was grand? It was a FALSE ALARM.

SIGH!

I'm sure you know where this is going. I was too late for the meet and greet by a mere three minutes.

UGHHH. I was honestly so annoyed with myself at that moment, but I was determined not to let it ruin my last hour or two at Disney. Nope. Sorry. My mom and Anna were so apologetic, but of course it wasn't their fault. They even offered to get back in line so I could meet her. I was not about to waste everyone's time, so I passed. I can at least show you the pictures they got though!

Scan130510000.jpg

(I guess they didn't get any pictures with my mom in them? Maybe they got some Photopass ones? No clue! I know they both met her though!)

They were so impressed with Merida! They said she was very engaging and they had a great conversation! It does stink that I missed it, but I'm definitely going to meet her on my next trip! Hopefully she'll still be there!

We met back up with my dad and Jacob, who apparently decided they wanted to sit on a bench and watch Celebrate A Dream Come True again! Hey, works for me.

We still had time left for at least one attraction, and we knew we had to make it a good one, so we headed across the way to Adventureland!

Adventureland has to be my favorite land in Magic Kingdom! There is just so much awesome in that one little area!

SDC13703.jpg

SDC13704.jpg

So what was our last attraction of the trip?

Jungle Cruise!!!

I hadn't been on that ride since 2010, and it's such a great one! I always laugh at all the jokes. It's just my kind of humor, what can I say?

I think I'd make a pretty awesome skipper, if I do say so myself. ;)

SDC10694.jpg

SDC10695.jpg

Unfortunately, after that knee-slapper of an attraction, we had to...

Leave.

:scared:

It was really difficult to process this information, so I basically tried not to think about it at all. That really didn't work very well.

On our way out, we heard the beautiful, harmonious sounds of the Dapper Dans doing a set. We didn't have time to watch them, which was a complete bummer, but at least hearing them was a nice send-off.

We boarded the resort monorail one last time and took the short little ride over to the Contemporary.

SDC13797.jpg

It was appropriately gloomy outside. Disney was sad to see us go, obviously.

(Another randomly small picture! I have no clue why that keeps happening.)

When we got back, my mom hit up the Contempo Cafe in an effort to use up the rest of our snack and quick service credits. We didn't use all of them, so she stocked up on bakery cookies and Mickey Rice Krispies. (I had a Mickey Rice Krispy the next day, which was better than anything else I could have eaten on the first day after a Disney trip.)

The rest of us did a little shopping in the Fantasia store, where I got a last minute pin to add to the collection!

Soon enough, it was time to go to the Magical Express pickup area. It was a very sad time.

I had a very strange fascination with the ground at the Contemporary. This was not the only picture I took of it! I'm such a weirdy.

We ended up on a Mear's bus, which is much more fitting for the end of a trip. We had the craziest bus driver EVER.

Oh, I'm sorry. I should say "MMMMMOOOOTOR COACH OPERATOR."

Yeah. If you ever have Paul as your bus driver, be prepared. He has this down to a science, I think. At times it was funny, but sometimes it was just too much. He literally sounded like a cow when he said the word 'motor.' HAHA. He was a very nice guy, though, and he made the trip back to the airport as enjoyable as it could possibly be by entertaining us with random facts and alligator hunts. Yup.

The line for security was insanely long, and once we got to our gate, we were greeted with the lovely sight of the news, with all their talk of politics and real world garbage. It was lovely. (Eye roll.) So far I was not loving not being in Disney. I remember tweeting that if I couldn't be there anymore, I just wanted to be at my house immediately.

Our flight was actually pretty turbulent, which didn't add much pleasant-ness to the whole situation, haha. We ended up getting home around midnight. It was wonderful to see my Sammy! I think we all crashed within 30 minutes of getting back, but before I went to bed, I took pictures of all my souvenirs I got throughout the trip!

I decided that whenever I go to Disney with my family that I'll get a shirt with the year on it! This is the one I got, and Jacob got the exact same one! Twins.

This is the last minute pin I picked up. I like collecting pins from the resorts I stay at, but they don't actually sell Bay Lake Tower pins. This was the next best thing, and now I already have the pin for whenever I stay at the actual Contemporary!

However, since we didn't actually stay at the Contemporary, I didn't feel like that was cutting it. I knew I'd seen BLT pins before, so I decided to look on eBay. I ended up buying this one...

I really love it! Surprisingly, that's it! It's fine, I already have a list of things I want to get next time I go to Disney. I'm pretty sure that's normal.

The entire next day was dedicated to catching up on the Olympics (plus the Disboards for me)! I got a terrible cold and it stuck with me for at least two weeks. The day after that I started my TR, because I couldn't wait to start talking about the trip! What a wonderful trip it had been!

HEY.

It's a video.

THE LAST VIDEO, to be exact.

Magic Kingdom MADNESS!

Right. So if you're one of the three to five people who actually watch my videos, I hope you enjoy the conclusion!

Once again, I SWEAR to you that one of these days I will make a legit video, not just show you random video clips. HAHA! Anyways, thanks for watching, if you did, and have a wonderful weekend!

THE END OF THE VIDEO POSTS

Ugh, that sucks about the bathroom and missing the meet and greet! :( That's cool that Merida was so engaging. I am definitely planning on meeting her on our trip and I hope she is still there for you when you go too! Though honestly I can't see why they would remove her so I think you'll be good. :)

Love that Contemporary pin! I like to get ones for the resorts I stay at too, so I will probably be picking that up for myself. haha! I think there is another one for Bay Lake Tower that comes in a DVC set. But who knows if I want to spend $25 for the whole set. We'll see.

Sad to see your TR ending but atleast now you are for sure going back! :cheer2: I want to know where you are staying...I'm going to guess the Boardwalk? Maybe. haha
