They've never told me no before. We always say we are willing to wait. Heres hoping.
As @yulilin3 noted above cast has been told to say no. This isn’t really an attraction you can wait for the front for either. You are assigned a specific boarding group color and you then go into a specific cabin. If you waited you would screw up those coming in behind you.

They just make you wait for the next color assignment. I’ve done Florida’s 30 times now, a lot of people request and haven’t seen any get turned down. You’re only messing things up if you request after you’ve entered the chess room, at which point better off bargaining with your crew mates.

Just trying to have the poster not get their hopes up in case they do get turned down. Cast has been told not to grant requests in this situation.

Understandable. It’s certainly not something to assume will work for you, but it’s not hopeless. Never hurts to ask when you’re there.

I’m afraid that line could get seriously backed up down the hallway before they hand out the assignments on SR. When we went for the previews there were about 6 people that wanted pilot so the cm had to keep going down the line to find 3 sets of 4 people before she could complete each color. We just took gunners to keep the line moving.

I’m back from Batuu! I’m thumb typing, & know there’s a separate thread for visit tales, so I’ll try to just hit some highlights...

I drove to DHS opening day around 2:30am and was in Batuu about 4:30am - only MFSR open & CM estimated 5hr wait. Path to marketplace opened shortly after so I bailed on the ride and wandered around Batuu until 10am. It was breathtaking! Really just everything this SW geek hoped for: instantly recognizable as part of the SW universe, yet new and begging to be explored. Lines were crazy: 2 hours for Dok-Ondar’s, 1hr for milk. Only a short wait for Docking Bay at 6am though lol! Had the Youngling bfast - quite yummy. “Black Caff” was sadly the same sad brown water Disney passes off as coffee. I had a 9am at Oga’s- enjoyed the Tarine Tea, which was very refreshing and light in the heat, and Lava Roll, which was better than expected.

GE was closed so I joined a boarding party with an estimated return time of “afternoon” before crashing in my room for a few hours. Boarding group worked flawlessly - no MDE issues at all!

I returned to GE around 3pm & it was open: didn’t need to use the VQ after all. My priority was MFSR so I got in line with a posted wait of 130mins, which dropped to 110 minutes after I got in line. It wound up being just shy of 2hrs... I was happy to have waited but wouldn’t ever do that again! I later rode single rider a few times in a row with no more than a couple minutes wait. I know the ride’s been roasted in reviews, and I’ll agree it’s not that spectacular as far as technology goes... BUT YOU’RE ON THE FALCON!!! That alone is enough to please me :)

I had another Oga’s ADR in the evening & enjoyed the second visit more - much more lively crowd than morning (go figure lol), and it was so fun to sing along and enjoy the rowdy atmosphere! Jedi Mind Trick was great & White Wampa Ale was delicious. I tried the green milk w/ tequila - CM pouring did pour booze first, the topped w/ milk so I was able to taste milk on its own off the top then mix the tequila on... I really liked it both ways! Light, refreshing, a little citrus-y. Went back to Docking Bay for dinner & had the Felucian Garden Spread, which was good.

I went back to GE the next afternoon and stayed until almost close. Tried blue milk & liked it, too (no booze that time), got a couple of the Magic pics, walked into Dok-Ondar’s with no wait, and rode SR single rider a bunch of times. I tried using the data pad a bit, but my phone battery was running low and I was too distracted taking it all in. I know I’ll be back to play more!

Overall I think Disney nailed it. The interactions I had - SO many!! - with CMs on character really made the experience. Hearing their backstories, meeting Vi and sharing some “intel” with her, interacting with Troopers, trying to explain what a “Disney” is to a Batuuan... it all just made for something incredibly special. I do hope WDW supports the CMs so they can keep this high level up.
So glad to hear because there's been so many negative or critical comments since the opening in Disneyland.

Just came back from DHS for EEMH, so I actually booked a room when they first announced EEMH to take advantage of it, it just happened to coincide with the storm. It was so unbelievably empty this morning. I was inside Dok Ondar with only CM around me, so enjoyable.
Just walked into Oga's to walk around and look, they were doing the 360 shot by the Tie Echelon

Can you ask to be a pilot?
Not from the single rider line - that's used to fill empty seats, and they were handing out the Pilot cards to the first 2 people in each boarding group. I could have asked other riders to switch, but since it was opening day/2nd day and it was new to everyone, I didn't ask. I really was perfectly happy as gunner and engineer! I'll have plenty of opportunities to get Pilot in the future - GE isn't going anywhere :)

I read a lot of those negative reviews and was emotionally prepared for GE to not impress me, so it was a bit of a surprise to love it so much! I'm scrambling now to rearrange plans for a longer visit in fall because I basically don't even want to bother with the other parks lol!

You are making me rethink my quick morning plan for it. But I was planning to go back another day. But I think I might go back after I do my fastpasses now. (Just got to get to Battu lol Plan is 2 more days lol)

Heading to GE in Nov over Veteran's Day weekend and could only get reservations for Savi's. Does anyone know if you can simply wait in line to get into Oga's with no reservation? I've been mashing the app everyday, but no openings. We'll be there for a few days, so we can spare the time if it's possible. Thanks for the info!

You have to go to the Oga Podium and ask if they are taking walk ups, don't get in line until you ask if they are taking people

How long have the waits been in the Oga line to get in WITH reservations? Are they running in time?
