Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

Filed taxes today!!!! Gonna get back more than twice what I expected.... Most definately enough to pay for a Disney Vacation!!!:goodvibes

'Ohana is at the Poly. If you are at Epcot, You can take the Monorail there. If you are at MK, you can take the monorail or you can walk to the Poly. If you are at your resort take a bus to DTD and then to the Poly. You can also take the bus from any Park to the Poly.

If you have guys that like RED MEAT...this is the place. Character dining in the morning with Lilo and Stitch (I have not been there.) I recommend dinner. They serve you an all-you-can eat dinner with skewered meat. And there's a program with hula dancing and music. Coconut races, etc. We've been known to eat there twice in one trip!

Thank you for the directions. My kids love Lilo and Stitch (okay, okay I love stitch ) so may consider breakfast but more than likely dinner.

Hi all.....We went this past Sept and like some of you we booked the bounce back offer with free dining and we're going this Sept too!!!! We are going from Sept 15th thru Sept 22nd and we're staying at POP! Can't wait!

We're staying at Pop at the same time! :thumbsup2 We're first timers though, so any planning advice?

That's great! Maybe we can meet up while we're there! We've stayed at POP once before and really liked it and I can't wait to get back there! I would say one of the 1st things you should do since you've never been there is to get a travel guide to help you out. One of my favorites is the Passporter for Walt Disney World. You can get it on the Passporter website. Not sure if they sell them in stores or not. I've been to WDW many times and I still grab a Passporter before I go just to get the newest updates and stuff. There are others out there but that one is my favorite. Also as soon as the calendar comes out with the hours and stuff for Sept try to figure out what parks you want to do on what days. You'll probably change plans over and over again (I always do) but it will give you an idea of some sort of a schedule. And start to think about where you want to eat so you can make your reservations as soon as the dates open up. The most popular places will fill up fast. If you are going to do any Character Meals those fill up quick.
Most of all just have fun!!!!! It can be very overwhelming but it is also pretty fun once you get going on it.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help out!

Howdy!

We haven't booked anything yet, but we're tentatively planning on heading down to The World in September so I figured I'd join the thread. We went last September and had such an awesome time that we're already missing the place and want to go back.

The fun thing about this trip is that we'll have a new addition in the form of our brand new baby girl (who I was pregnant with during our last trip). She'll be pushing 9 months in September so it should make things a little more...interesting.

This is really the 1st time I've been able to get onto the Boards since we got back! I never got a chance to do a trip report or catch up with anyone on the Sept 2011 thread! Life just got in the way!!!! Hopefully things will settle down now!!!!
It's nice to see some familiar names from the last Sept thread and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone else! Now to get the plans started!!!!:cool1:

:welcome: to the group. I added your information to the first page of the thread.

Yay! That's so exciting. I am glad that everything is falling into place for you.

Yay for new additions. We took our daughter for the first time at 8 months. It was a great time. She had so much fun investigating everything and we just carried her in a Baby Bjorn on everything. It was so easy. The next year at 1 1/2 she was less "go with the flow". Happy to have you aboard.

My dd was 9 months for her first visit. She crawled to Pooh and gave him a big hug. It was amazing:love:

Cant believe how many new Sept. travelers there are since the last time I was on!! We're almost down another month too :goodvibes.. only 8 more till September!!! :rotfl:

I just realized I have about 2 months till I can make my ADRs and usually by this time I have everything mapped out in my spreadsheet... I have nothing for this trip and nothing done for my upcoming March trip either! I have been so busy its ridiculous and now Im finally hoping things will calm down because I have so much to do in so little time!

Anyone start their ADR itineraries and care to share??

I'm trying to come up with my dream list, and my more thrifty list, as I'm on a major budget this trip. If we get the cheap dining plan through my friend (she won't find out until August 1 if they are offering it in September) then I have my dream restaurants, i.e. character meals every day. The major ones I'd want to do is Chef Mickey's for breakfast, and the Princess lunch at 1900. And absolutely the Biergarten in Germany/Epcot, perhaps the French place too. (We went to Paris on our Honeymoon and I've been to Germany many times and miss it so much) Excuse me if I have that wrong, being that I've never been to Disney, I'm trying to research.

I will also have my back-up list, like restaurants that are a little more budget-friendly if I am paying out of pocket. The only one I have on that list is the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Isn't there a Sci-Fi one as well? although if we are Paying out of pocket, I'll likely hit up one character meal at a breakfast time.

That is my strategy so far, but I could change it 100x by September. But my CM friend told me to book any fancy meals ASAP because they are likely to get filled if I wait, where the other restaurants are likely to not fill up so quickly.

I started to plan what I want but without knowing the park hours yet, it's hard for me to plan really well. We want...
1) Boma for dinner and breakfast
2) Garden Grill for dinner
3) CRT for breakfast (if free dining is offered and we upgrade to Deluxe)
4) Tusker house for lunch
5) Ohana for breakfast
6) Le Cellier for lunch
7) Mama Melrose for lunch
8) Possibly Kona for lunch or dinner

Not sure 100% though. I always change my mind.

YAY! :cool1: A busy thread! I didn't even notice this one, I posted in the "Doing the Happy Dance" forum in their Sept thread and was sad that it was so slow! I partook in Sept 2011 thread which was awesome, and I'm so excited we're lucky enough to partake in the Sept 2012 thread too!!! I'll just copy and paste my post from the other thread:

Jumping in!!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!!! :yay::yay::yay:We just took our first family vacation to WDW last year in Sept (stayed at SSR), and had planned on going back in 2013. DH mentioned last night that it's a long time to have to wait since we loved it so much, and mentioned that maybe we could swing going this year. I looked over some figures, found out that we can swing it, and now he's booking the time off work and I'm watching out for 40% off room discounts and cheap flights!!!!

We're going during the same exact dates as last year, Sept 21-Oct 1, staying at most likely SSR again. Kids will miss 6 days of school, but when we had to let teachers know last fall, they didn't mind whatsoever and said that if they're going to miss school, Sept is the best month for it since it's so much review. Our kids will be 10, 8, 5 and 4 for the next trip, so I'm looking forward to it being just a bit easier with the younger two a tiny bit older for the next one. I do have to say though, that Disney makes it as easy as it can be with little ones on a holiday! We're hitting up MNSSHP again, it was sooo worth the money, an absolute blast! All 6 of us dressed up like pirates last year, so I'm already trying to come up with a new idea for a matching theme. Also getting another double stroller through Magic Strollers, it was a lifesaver and so light and easy to fold up for buses! Can't wait to figure our dining ADR's as well, I think I like the planning just as much as the actual trip.

:welcome: That is wonderful news that you guys are able to go on another trip! We planned for July for a cruise and then got a pay raise for finishing masters work and now we are going in September too. I am so excited. We had fun at MNSSHP too, but this year I don't know whether we will make it or not (not sure when it starts this year). The kids will be sad if we miss it, but I am sure they will still have fun.

I took our youngest youngest to the doctors today for her three year check-up and she is standing tall at 39.5 inches. We need to have her grow 1/2 an inch by July so she can hit up the first part of the big rides. She is so excited that she can do BTMR this year. I am sure by September 1/2 inch will be no problem. This just means that there are only a few rides that all of us can not ride together. Not as many baby swaps. :woohoo:

Thanks!!!! It's amazing how happy a holiday can make you! I love having something to plan and look forward to. :lovestruc

I'm sure you're daughter will hit 40" by then. Last fall my son was 39.5 a month before and I was so upset he wasn't going to get to go on a lot of fun rides since he's a little dare devil, but sure enough a month later he hit 40" on every ride but Soarin. :thumbsup2

January is almost over - one less month to count - it was this time last year that we booked our Sept 2011 trip - did that even earlier this year - friends we were out with last night were talking about cruising and stuff and we said, nah we're Disney people - rather be on the rides than sitting out in the middle of the ocean :rotfl2:

We started our pre-lim list of reses we have to make...

1. 1900 park fare breakfast
2. Tusker house breakfast
3. Akershus breakfast
4. Chef Mickey breakfast
5. Crystal Palace (late breakfast or early lunch)
6. Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre late lunch
7. 50's Prime Time cafe

We were going to make our table meals at late lunch but there are so many amazing breakfasts, we just couldn't help ourselves... :woohoo: We ate at Tusker & Akershus last year and had a blast - trying to hit ones with a lot of characters so we don't have to chase them in the parks or go to get in a line up only to be told its closed (even had one CM quickly step right in front of me as I was getting in line)... thats one of my only complaints about Disney :confused3 is how they arrange the Character meets outside the restaurants... but we still love it there...

:cheer2: So excited to report that I received a Game On! PIN yesterday for 30% off resorts. The Poly was included!!! Free dining is still our best offer, but the 30% saved us quite a bit, so I'm not going to be greedy!! I am so happy and so excited to not be paying rack rate anymore! :cheer2:
