Hi!
We're booked at the POFQ Oct 16-21! I'm hoping that since this week seems to have been blacked out of any discount promos that I've seenthat the crowds will be pretty low. One week til ADRs!!!

I made our ressies! So far it looks like
Chefs le France
Sci fi diner (a fav with the kids)
Kona
Le Cellier
Hacienda
I have one more to get, but we are trying to decide where. My kids want whispering canyon, but I want to try something new. We'll see.
We're going to be there (ASMu) at the same time. Everything I've read says that the crowds will be bigger than normal the holiday weekend (Oct. 7-9), but still not ridiculous. To be on the safe side, I'm staying away from the parks on Sunday (our arrival date) and away from MK and Epcot on Monday.
By "bigger than normal", I mean for that time of year.![]()
We managed to book all of our ressies a couple days ago and not only did we get everything we wanted we also got the times we wanted. Now all that is left is the waiting part which is about to kill my two girls.
Dining @
Oct 9th - Grand Floridian Cafe - 5:30 dinner
Oct. 10th - Chef Mickey - 6:30 dinner
Oct. 11th - Crystal Palace - 8:30 Breakfast
Oct. 12th - 1900 Park Fare - 6:15 dinner
Oct. 13th - Akershus - 8:30 Breakfast
Oct. 14th - Ohana - 8:30 Breakfast
Total Character overload but the girls will be thrilled! Really excited about the two breakfast meals before park opening.
I got totally sucked into the Room Decorating thread and can't wait to do it myself.
Who else will decorate their room/windows/doors?
i also found the tables too close for comfort at Le Cellier, but it really depends on where you sit. Last time we had a great table that didn't feel overcrowded or too close. But a prior trip with just DH and I, being at a 2 top, i felt like i could reach over and snag a bite off my neighbors plate, we were so close. It was a basic steak. Not bad, but not the hype we see on these boards. A tad bit too salty as well. Personally, I wouldn't head back any day soon. I also disliked how crammed in you are in there. You may have well been sitting at the same table as your neighbor.
I am so glad I am not working on getting any "hard to get" reservations. I think my most difficult ones with be Boma for breakfast and dinner.
me too- i have to get up at 4:45am! and i've been fighting a cold and taking nyquil. i guess no nyquil so i won't oversleep!I am so afraid that I will forget to wake up on time on Sunday to make my reservations. We are in the last month of the semester so I am super stressed out and my sleep schedule is so messed up. I will need to set multiple alarms just to be sure.
we are booked then too and hoping for lower park crowds as well!!Hi!

WE did decorate our room a little when we went in December 2 years ago. I brought my own little tree, some lights for the balcony etc. But there was nowhere to plug them in on the balcony, so had the cord running inside, which was dangerous. If i was in a mod/value, i would put up some clings on the window- that's easy enough! We are at BLT and so we aren't going to bother decorating. I skipped it last December too- i realized after i put the tree and lights in the room, we hardly ever really were in the room to enjoy it, so it was a waste. If you are in your room a lot, it's worth it, or if you are in a value/mod where you see your window everyday as you open the door. For the deluxes, you don't have a window, just your patio or balcony.I got totally sucked into the Room Decorating thread and can't wait to do it myself.

I did a "trial run" to see how hard it was going to be to get our two ADR's. Unless they offer the free DDP, we'll be paying OP and with an active 3 year old monkey, table service options aren't a high priority. We're DL vets and have done a few character dining experiances. The food is usually good, but I'm the only one who eats it. The two kids usually have doughnuts or cereal (DH usually stays back and sleeps in and catches up with us later in the day). So, with that in mind, we've (I've) decided that we will only need two ADR's. The first one is in DTD at Raglan Road, it looks like we'll have no problem getting that one. The second is at DS at 50's Prime Time. The reason for a DS table service is (from what I've read) from a lack of decent counter service options and the likely hood that we'll have finished most of our must do's by noon is fairly good. That one looks like we'll have a good chance of getting our desiered time or close to it.
For the vets out there, I'm thinking of Raglan Road on Saturday after a full day at AK (schedule to close at 5pm) so is 6pm a feasable time to reserve or should I push to 6:30?

Can someone please tell me what time you can log on to online to book ADR's. My day is coming fast! 4/25. We still can decide on where to eat!
Raglan Road is one of my favorite reservations! How are you planning to get to DTD? Car, bus, boat? That would change my answer on what time I would schedule my reservation. Personally, I would choose 6:30pm, but I can't stand the stress of rushing to get someplace, so I always plan more time then I really need.
Also, if you do have issues getting the time you want for Raglan Road, you can contact them to make reservations or use Open Table. Often you will find additional times that way!
Enjoy!
When we stayed at AKL and went to DTD for dinner at Raglan Road, I thought it took FOREVER, although I know it was probably only 30 minutes or so by bus start to finish. I would say do the 6:30 and if you get there early, maybe they can get you in then anyway. Otherwise there's much to do to keep you entertained!

My Bro and SIL highly recommed it also. We're staying at POFQ, so thinking of taking the bus to the Quarter then boat to DTD.
Thanks for the input, I think I'll push it to 6:30 just to be on the safe side.
