***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Yep, great minds think alike. When I heard about the Wave buffet becoming a permanent addition I knew how I wanted to end our WDW trip. Trail's End will be a short walk from our RV, but the Wave is just a quick boat trip and sounds so much nicer.

we'll be a BLT...so it's a nice quick qalk over for us :goodvibes

It also sounds like a bunch of DISers may be floating around the F&WF on 10/17. I've been to F&WF numerous times, and Mondays tend to be the best days crowd wise for grazing the kiosks

that sounds great...hope it won't be too crowded either for our first F&W visit

We don't do the DDP, so snack credits are irrelevant; I'm budgeting for lots of tastings!

we won't be on the DDP this trip either so I have a whole food budget just for F&W too ;) care to share what you are budgeting?

I went off 2010 festival menus (that i found on the Disney food blog) and have budgeted for roughly 18 choices and 6 alcohalic bev's coming in at about $80 I truly don't know if we'd eat that much or not w/ 2 visits...I know to err on the higher end than not...but just curious what others do

We booked our trip and bought our airline tickets today!!
First time to go without kids and super excited for Food and Wine Fest!!

This will be our first time at WDW for the F&W and I know that my dd (11) and I will love this as we enjoy trying new foods (dh and ds's not so much as they're too fussy! lol). If not using DDP snack credits approximately how much would we budget for lots of tastings for the two of us? Are the samples big enough for the two of us to share one? What are the approximate cost per samples or do they vary greatly?

We did F&W a couple years ago. Food from the booths ran $2.50 to $8 per plate/serving depending on what you got. I would actually recommend sharing samples. There is plenty on most plates for you to both get a good taste. And that way you don't fill up as fast & get to try more things.
If you really, really like something you can always get it again later (or sneak the last bite when the other person isn't looking :rolleyes1 ).

One other bit of advice, the day you decide to try F&W eat a light breakfast/lunch. If you start too full you won't get to try half the things you want to sample.

DH and I were planning on going to F&W Festival last year but then had to cancel our trip, but I remember when the listings of the kiosi menus were posted going over them and making a list of what we wanted to sample, many items avg $3-$4 and you could use a snack credit for if I remember correctly, where the biggest cost came in was if you sample the wine and beer. Luckily DH and I no longer drink because of the meds we are on.

Last year the plan was to eat around the world for lunch on two days and since we would have been paying cash last year(no DP) I was going to purchase 2 of the wristband F&W gc putting $100 on each for those 2 days of sampling

This year we will be using our snack credits, will have 24 and we plan on doing few kiosks each of the 4/5 partial days/evening we will be spending in Epcot which I think we should be able to sample just about everything we want to by shareing as pp mentioned

I'm figuring $100 per person, also to be on the high side. I do this for meals, too, so that in a sense I'm "prepaying" my meals as if I were on the meal plan, but that "prepayment" stays in my pocket, not Disney's, and anything I don't spend is mine.

What is the "wristband F&W gc"? Do you have to use one, or can you just pay cash/KTTW card? As noted above, I'd rather keep the money in my pocket than put it on a gc that I have to use or lose.

Thanks.

They sell a special F&W gc on a coil type wristband you can purchase and load with as much $ as you like then you do not have to keep opening your wallet to use cash or your bank card , its just a more convientent method of paying than digging around for cash. You can reload more $ if you use up the initial amount you put on the gc and the gc can be used anywhere at Disney that accepts gc not just at the F&W Fest.

I can't believe I haven't posted here since I changed my dates. But I'll be in Disney from October 20-26 to celebrate my birthday and we're staying at POP.

Pirates and Pals cruise is a separate paid events outside of the park, so no park admission/ticket is required. You book in advance, meeta the Contemporary boat dock and go on a little boat ride complete Hook/Smee sending you off. Your capt tells stories of pirates and you park on Bay Lake to watch the fireworks from the lake. Then back to the dock where Peter pan greets you and welcomes you back. it is completely separate from MNSSHP. It is just a boat cruise and you happen to get to see the Hallowishes fireworks if you do it on a MNSSHP night, if not, you see regular WISHES. :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Thank you so much for this info! :)

We'll be at POP too Oct. 20th to the 29th!! :woohoo:

So the only time I could get for CRT on 10/2 for dinner was 6:40 pm this morning at 8 am. I was hoping for later so we could see Hallowishes for inside. May be they will be running really behind that day!

boo! so sorry, hopefully something will open up. I am getting really nervous about making my ADRs, i fear the ones I really want will be gone, since i am picky about a few times (breakfast before park opening and O'hana prior to MNSSHP).

I am nervous too about not being able to get the times and places I want for when I want......I am still deciding on times for a couple of places but I scheduled the harder to get ones for later in my vacation , like 'Ohana & Le Cellier so hopefully I can snag them. I know last year when I was making my park schedule I did not do that and the ones I wanted on arrival day and the day after were hard to come by only 1 or 2 times available and not what I wanted at all. I spent the next few months stalking the site to see if I might get the times I wanted.
April 22nd hurry up and get here!

This waiting for them to release the Wishes Dessert Party is crazy too, I hope by time to make my ADR's my dates are released, I really want to book that one

I don't blame you! Have you been to Le Cellier before? I decided to try it in Oct. Seems pricey...just wondering if it's worth it. I am a steak lover. ;)

It was a basic steak. Not bad, but not the hype we see on these boards. A tad bit too salty as well. Personally, I wouldn't head back any day soon. I also disliked how crammed in you are in there. You may have well been sitting at the same table as your neighbor.

I am so glad I am not working on getting any "hard to get" reservations. I think my most difficult ones with be Boma for breakfast and dinner.

We (DH and I ) have never been to Le Cellier. I am not a steak person but DH is when we go out to breakfast he many times will order the steak and eggs, he just loves his meat. Yesterday we stopped for breakfast/lunch it was about 11:30 and he had this burger with a fried egg on it and bacon and lettuce and tomatoe :scared1:

It does seem pricey but so does most of the food in Disney if you ask me. This is our first time ever trying the DP so I am planning on a dinner ADR at Le Cellier since they say the steaks are smaller on the lunch menu 5oz as opposed to 8oz at dinner. Not sure if 2 credits is worth it but since we will be doing the DXDP I figure we might as well go for it

That is one thing that bothers me about eating at Le Cellier not sure I want to sit atop my neighbors, but I do love the pictures of the decor inside there that I have seen.

I have also read that San Angel in Mexico has tight seating arrangements but we want to eat there this trip to. When passing through the Mexican Pavilian we had wanted to eat there since our first trip in "89.

I am so excited about this trip since we will be trying so many new places to eat.

Good luck with your ADR's! I did mine on Sunday, and I did pretty well! The only disappointment I had was not getting 'Ohana for dinner on my arrival night, so I got it later in the trip instead. If you try for the more difficult ADR's later in your trip, you should be ok! :) I'll post mine here eventually, but I change my ADR's so often, I'm not even going to bother right now!

I LOVE Le Cellier!! I'm not really happy with the changes to the menu though, which is why I'm not going to be going there for dinner anymore, just lunch, since that menu remained the same! If you like steak, you won't be disappointed! :cool1:

Thank you both! You've inspired me to change my ressie from dinner to lunch. No way I can eat a 12 oz steak and it would be horrible to waste. Plus saves on money and DH will be happy about that. We can just have a CS dinner in one of the countries ...may be Japan or Italy. :goodvibes

Yeah I agree. It's hard to have it all at Disney. The more intimate dining experiences with less crowds are very expensive.

HI there!! We really like LeCellier. I have never had a bad meal there and I didn't feel like I was sitting on top of anyone. (we've been like 5 times). We are going to do lunch in Oct bc of the meal credits.

We tried San Angel Inn on our last trip because our girls really wanted to. Make sure you request to sit in the main area near the water...they tried to seat us over on the side and I asked to be moved. My girls really loved it. I had a really good meal too! I will def go there again.:thumbsup2

A couple people here on the DIS have mentioned that it can be hard or near impossible to be seated near the water, even if there are empty tables they still sit you elsewhere. I do plan on asking to sit near the water, wish me luck ;)

Great to hear about Le Cellier! :)

We also enjoyed San Angel Inn. It's authentic Mexican and not Tex-Mex which I think throws some people off.
