OFFICIAL October 2009 thread - LET US KNOW YOUR PTR LINK!

So what clothes is going in your suitcases?
We are there from oct 7 -17th. I am leaving behind chilly (I live in Newfoundland Canada) to go back to warm (yah)...how warm though?
I've been reading it will prob be hot days (looks like 20-30 by weather stuff online) and then we'll need pants and prob long shirts for the evenings...

I usually bring a jacket along...but I intend on bringing shorts, capris for me and shorts for the kids and husband.,..

Regarding not receiving my vouchers/luggage tags:

My check in date is 10/4 and I haven't received my packet of vouchers or luggage tags for the trip. I called CRO and the CM said they had a print date of 8/23. She verified my address, so I should be receiving them. Just wanted to give a heads up to those with check in dates close to mine. She said they can't do anything until 7 days before, when they can have it sent to the front desk.

For those who have received their vouchers (the book with the luggage tags, planet hollywood etc.) when is your check in date? I really want this book before I get there so I can use the luggage tags.

I check in the 7th and I had them(well my TA) since Aug 20.

Well I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow. This is the second time in a row this has happened but the last trip was booked only 2 weeks out and I figured that was why, this trip is like a year in the making! I just don't get it and its really frustrating because I look forward to getting that book.

32 days!

1 month, 2 days excluding the end date

Alternative time units
32 days can be converted to one of these units:
2,764,800 seconds
46,080 minutes
768 hours
4 weeks (rounded down)

LOL! I love the countdown! I did this for my wedding 7 years ago, and may need to resurrect the idea for this trip!

Well, since I am still awake and it's now Tuesday here (East Coast) I'll go ahead and post.

First, I got my Mickey Mail yesterday! :cool1: Just realized I haven't opened it yet. I hid it so DD didn't see it and forgot til just now. LOL!

My trip is Oct 7-12. I will be wearing jeans, short sleeve top, and bringing my hoodie sweatshirt on the plane. While at Disney, I plan on wearing shorts. I was there last year at the same time and it was fine. I don't ever remember being cold. Maybe chilly during the pouring rain at MNNSHP, but even then it wasn't that bad.

Goals for today:

1) recheck: hours for the parks, parades, fireworks, early openings, late nights and anything else that Disney can change. So far, I have found they have changed things and it has a ripple effect. The best parks based on crowds has changed, so I have to replan where we will be.

2)Work on t-shirts or window decorations

Both goals will keep me busy. I washed the shirts, so I hope to be able to get the iron on ones done later today.

Have a great day! It's one day closer to your trip! :yay:

Oooh, thanks Pooh Bear - I hadn't checked if any hours or anything had changed!

Off to TGM now!

30 DAYS
UNTIL WALT DISNEY WORLD

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I can't wait!!!!! It's getting soooo close now!! I'm going to Wal-Mart today to look for some window clings to decorate my window at POFQ!!! :yay:

ME TOO!!!!!! In exactly 1 more month (30 more days) I'll be at Disney!!! I think you have all inspired me to decorate my room windows for Halloween also. I didn't think to do it 2 years ago since I won't actually be there on Halloween but it seems like a lot of peeps do some I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon! :-)

Hi Everyone!

DH and I just booked a last minute trip to Disney for next month from the 17th-24th, and we're staying at POFQ. :cool1: We are also bringing my 6 yo cousin for her first Disney trip, so I psyched about that.

There are a lot of firsts for this trip:
-Our first time staying at a Moderate
-Our first time flying and using Magical Express (we've always driven before)
-First time for the Food & Wine Festival
-First time with Free Dining
-First time at MNSSHP

We're currently in the process of trying to decide if we're going to dress up for the MNSSHP. My cousin definitely will, but I was thinking of getting DH and I some cool Halloween hats (does Disney do Halloween hats?), and wearing matching Halloween t-shirts.

I love the idea of decorating the hotel window too!

30 days and my trip will be over. :(

Me Too!:sad2: Luckily I've already started planning a surprise trip for April. We haven't been in April/May in 8 years.:woohoo:

Just an FYI if you have a Dollar Tree near you they have some wonderful Halloween Disney window clings.

Doh.....:rolleyes1 I should have taken your advice. I debated going to Wal-Mart or Dollar Tree which are right next to each other. I went for Wal-Mart and they didn't have any Disney window clings. I got one...but it just says "Happy Halloween". I'll try to go to the Dollar Tree tonight.

I did get me a witch hat that is black and purple. And I got me some purple and black eyelashes. Sooooo....even through I wasn't planning on dressing up for MNSSHP.......I guess I will. Well, not really dress up (I'll probably just wear some black capri's with a purple top), but more than what I thought I would do!!! :)

Wooh hooh!!! 2 weeks today until we are in WDW! Go to get through an exam for work first though (meant to be revising right now!).

I have started printing of all the emails we need and putting them together with the vouchers Disney UK have sent me (you would not believe how many emails I have!).

Also ordered from Garden Grocer tonight here is what we ordered (not very healthy at all!)

8 pack Diet Pepsi
8 pack Mountain Dew
8 pack Sprite
32 pack spring water
2 litre Mountain Dew Code Red
12 pack Rice Krispie treats
Cinnamon swirl buns
Lays salt and vinegar potato chips
Bubble bath

We just wanted some drinks for the fridge and to take with us in the morning (were there for 14 nights hence the large amount of drinks!), and some things for breakfast that we can take with us.

Ordered the bubble bath to get it over $40 - I love a nice bath after a long day in the parks :goodvibes

Great looking list Gemma. :) I posted mine a couple of days back, but as we don't have DDP we got a lot more breakfast/lunch bits compared to you guys.

I considered getting 64 bottles of water, but I thought I could always pick some up once we're there. And we'll be getting resort mugs, so as sad as I am that I didn't get more Mountain Dew, as long as theres Dr Pepper/Root Beer I'm sure I'll cope. :)

Ooooh it's so exciting! :)

I'm under the 40 day mark (whoo hoo!), but I'm getting nervous about the flight down. We're flying Southwest and bought our tickets in the spring. Last night I was looking around on the boards and found a post about SW charging a $10 fee now for early booking. The debate on the post got really heated, and now I'm freaking out that if I don't pay the $10 my 2 year old and 5 year old might not be sitting with us. ARGHHH! I wouldn't have so much of a problem with the fee if I had been told of the change when I bought the tickets, but they just started this policy this month effective immediately on all flights. Like I needed more stuff to think about for the trip! Anyone else faced with this problem? I'm hoping since SW didn't notify anyone about the change that few people will have bought the early boarding passes. Here's hoping!

You should be able to pre-board with a 2 and a 5 year old??? At least that is how it's always been. :confused3 Who knows.....with the way things are today.......we get "FEEed" to death!!!! Maybe you can call Southwest....just to clairify that you will be able to sit with your 2 kids. Good luck.
