***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

:welcome: If you want to provide your dates and where you are staying, I can add you to the first post. I am trying to be minimalist, too. I just want to go and have a relaxing vacation....I really did not want to plan all the FPs out, but I will do what is needed. ;)

You will receive a KTTW when you check in because not all restaurants and charging places are equipped to handle the MB yet. So, if you are on the dining plan and want to use your credits, you have the KTTW card as back up in case your MB doesn't work.

Remember, this is a huge technological undertaking. There is no way all the kinks are ironed out and Disney will not let this go live until most of them are addressed. I think, for November, we are going to be ok with both the MB and KTTW cards. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks for the welcome! We are doing POP Nov 12-18. I had originally picked up the phone to book AofA when a random room came available, but decided to stay at POP and try out the free dining that was announced that sane day. We've never done the dining program before.

I laugh at my own "minimalist" comment. I'm still planning to tour the parks in a particular order (no cross crossing) and have tried to fit the FP+ to follow the path (but won't get too upset if they don't work out). I'm planning on taking the kids out for a nap midday (but not at a set time). We also have one ADR per day. So ya, minimalist to me. I think my friends and family would say otherwise. Heehee.

Thanks for the info about the KTTW card. While I understand things are rolling out slowly, I thought those with MBs were those with MBs and those with cards only had cards. Good to know.

I have no big problems with their new venture and am looking forward to it. I do like things a little more orderly though. None of this adding different fastpass+ options willy nilly once us keeners have already chosen and worked them in ;)

According to an annoucement (tweet) from TP, November is still considered a testing period, and full rollout for Disney resort guests will occur December 1. So I would suspect that means November guests will receive KTTW cards too.

"Beginning today MyMagic+ is officially rolling out in waves across Walt Disney World Resorts. All guests checking in to resorts on or after the dates listed below will receive MagicBands and have access to the FASTPASS+ System. Every Monday for the next 4 weeks new resorts will be added. Then when Grand Floridian Villas open on October 23, 2013 all resorts will be fully online with the program. The program will still be considered “testing” for now, think of it as a sort of “soft opening.” The official start date for MyMagic+ is December 1, 2013.

For arrivals on or after:
September 30, 2013: Bay Lake Tower, Kidani Village, Port Orleans French Quarter, Grand Floridian, and All Star Movies.

October 7, 2013: All Star Sports, Boardwalk Inn, Boardwalk Villas, and Caribbean Beach Resort.

October 14, 2013: All Star Music, Coronado Springs, Old Key West, Wilderness Lodge, and Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

October 21, 2013: Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and Saratoga Springs.

October 23, 2013: Grand Floridan Villas."

Actually people have been able to pull FPs with their KTTW card even after using the the MB to enter the park. They temporarily disabled the part of the code that checks to see if the ticket media was used to enter the park during this test phase. AK seems to be the exception, many people are reporting problems pulling FPs there after entering with the MB.

Thx for the explanation of why it varied. It seemed like some people w KTTWs were able to and some weren't, and I didn't aggregate enough data to see any pattern. But I don't read on the TPAS boards a lot, mostly on the DVC boards, so that's probably why.

Guess I'll just have to try everything to find out!

I definitely plan on getting a KTTW card as some DVCers have reported trouble using their MB to get into their room. Not very many, but enough. I'd like to have a back-up of a KTTW card. Excited about using the MB to get into the pool though.

At this late date it probably wouldn't come through, but I'm thinking about waitlisting for Boardwalk w/ a BW view instead of Beach Club. With the weather as cold as it is everywhere for September (snowing in the Rockies, colder than usual here in NorCal) I'm wondering if we'll be able to use Storm Along Bay at all by the time November rolls around.

One of my party members had a bad experience at DLR last week, and I think he'll enjoy WDW more if he focuses on the resort-eyness of it more than the parks, so Boardwalk would be better to enjoy that. His wife loves Disney but he's got park burn-out bad, :guilty: so in order to make the trip better for everybody I'm wondering if going for a resort that has more happenings and a better view might help.

I was looking forward to being close to Epcot, but don't like being farther away from DHS, so moving closer to DHS would be cool. The other factor was I'd really been looking forward to trying 2 new resorts (BCV/AKV) whereas we've already seen BWV (loved the location, but thought the room itself was so-so).

Should I waitlist it? While 5 days in a 2 bedroom is unlikely, my best chance would be around the 30 day mark. Its within a few points of what I have reserved, so no worries about that.

Welcome aboard! I believe there are a few people going those dates! If you check the first post, you can reach out to the members from there.

Thank you :thumbsup2

Nope, first time at OKW. My MIL and FIL are coming with us (hubby, me and 3 boys) so we need a good deal of space. We went to Disney in 2010 and stayed in a tree house at SSR and the only other time I went before that was as a kid in November 1982 when we stayed at the Poly.

I'm really excited about seeing Fantasmic and the Osborne Lights and this time we are also making time to see some of the resorts. We are also looking forward to Agent P adventures and the Sorcerers or Magic Kingdom. This time Star Tours and It's a Small World will be open too which is great. Those are all things we have never done before (well I did IASW as a kid, but my kids never saw it). I also can't wait to get back on ToT and Splash Mountain. How about you?

Sounds like you're going to have an amazing trip! The Osborne Lights are great. Are you going to MVMCP? I'm looking forward to seeing the new changes in the Magic Kingdom and all that area. We're determined to be a bit braver this time and are going to try ToT - wish me luck :lmao:

We had a lot of fun at Universal/IoA last year! We wish we could do it again this year but we are flying and staying on Disney property, plus we plan on visiting Give Kids the World one day so that kind of uses up some time. I think we are going to have to take a cab out to GKTW (but it is a MUST do because it was DS4's favorite part of his wish trip last year). DH is worried that DS will be disappointed and want to go to Universal too. Of course, he spent a lot of his time at the playground in Jurassic Park but he loved the smaller HP rollercoaster and then we got to do a walkthru of the main HP ride. They also gave him a certificate stating that, when he's tall enough, he may come back and skip the line and ride! He loved that! (He still has a few inches to go)

Our trip is 11/11-11/19. We are going one year to the day of our trip last yr :thumbsup2 Gonna miss staying at the wonderful GKTW but look forward to our first time on Disney property (Pop).

Sounds like you've got a wonderful trip planned :) That's so cute that they gave him a certificate!!

We're going almost the same as you, just a few days after. 17th through 23rd. Are you staying on-site for Universal? I want to try that someday but it just wasn't in the budget this trip, so we scattered our two Universal days throughout our Disney portion of our stay.

Yes, we hope to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel but still searching for discounted rates, very last minute though :scared1: Are you staying onsite whilst at Disney?

Awesome! I'll miss you by a few days as we pulled out the kids during "Jersey Week" so they miss less school. :) I'm sure you are going to have a terrific time! And, I agree, I would like the FP+ to be more orderly, but I'll take what I can get at this point. lol

I would definitely waitlist! You never know. Some people have all sorts of this that come up at the last minute. Hopefully, it will work out for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

We're determined to be a bit braver this time and are going to try ToT - wish me luck :lmao:

My recommendation, being one who feels sick just thinking about riding ToT, close your eyes and focus on breathing! :scared1: Although, I rode once when someone had a bucket of popcorn with them, that was funny. :rotfl: But in no way am I able to look out the 'doors' at the park below. :faint: :crazy2:

My Disney vacation buddy and I have a deal. Every other year I will ride ToT and she will ride Mission:Space, orange. The sacrifices we endure for others entertainment! :scared:

No sweat, I'm trying to be prepared so that I know if I have to enter the park with the card rather than the band in order to pull fastpasses. I pretty much pull a fastpass for everything because I do not wait in lines, I'm worse than a kid.

With the weather as cold as it is everywhere for September (snowing in the Rockies, colder than usual here in NorCal) I'm wondering if we'll be able to use Storm Along Bay at all by the time November rolls around.

After the huge storms at the end of October/beginning of November for the last few years I'm more afraid of the airport being shut down and my flight delayed/cancelled. I figure that it will either be freezing cold or boiling hot when I'm there ;) Either way I'm swimming, which heated pools the cold won't bother me.

I know we will! We aren't going to MVMCP. We went to MNSSHP back in 2010 and it wasn't worth the money to us. We have no desire to wait in lines to see characters and although the fireworks and parades are cool, they aren't worth the extra money to me. I do wish I could see the snow on Main Street though. We are using the money we would have spent on tickets towards 1 day/1 park tickets at Universal. We are ginormous Harry Potter fans.

You HAVE to try ToT, it is such a well done ride. It blows away all other drop rides. Because of the type of seating it has it is MUCH smoother than other drop rides.

So to up the chances of being able to pull a regular FP, we should use our (back up issued) KTTW cards upon park entry? But at the same time our MBs and connected FP+ choices will work in the park regardless of what was used upon park entrance?

I love all the tips and tricks :)

So excited!!!:cool1::cool1: Just paid off balance and bought tix for dh and I for MVMCP. We don't ride many rides, so it was cheaper to buy tix for the party than add a day for us. Only thing left is our airfare home. If we can't get a good deal, we may just rent a car and drive home. I've been planning this trip soo long (since Christmas) that I don't believe that it's actually happening.

Have a terrific time yourself!
I've been to NJ a couple times and had a good time :).

Random flight question. I've never had to change flights ever for any trip. However, we are able to take a couple more days off but our flights are booked. I'd like to extend our stay. Is there ANY way an airline wouldn't ding us? I've read a few posts on the DIS board and heard from a co worker who have not been charged the change fees. I thought this was a stone cold policy...

Thanks I was curious about the KTTW cards too. Good to know well have both.

If you fly SW, there is a good chance it will not cost extra, if the price of a ticket for your flight is still the same. Any other airline though, unless you a platinum super-duper special mileage member, plan on paying for the change. I've had some airlines charge me a change fee AND additional cost of the ticket. :furious:

Right now you only have to do that at AK, the cards are working at the other 3 parks to pull fast passes even when using the MB's to enter. The AK thing MAY be a glitch. I've been watching the threads so if I notice a change I'll post it here. I have a couple of friends going for Jersey week so I'm trying to keep up to let them know the changes because they don't know about any of this. Remember, that you can always enter the park with one form, and walk out an reenter with another form and then you don't have to worry ;-) I don't want to bother doing that though unless I HAVE to.

I'm sure you'll have a great time at the party, but I don't understand something. How many days are your original tickets for that buying the party tickets is cheaper than adding another day? I get it if you only have 1 or 2 day base tickets, but if you have 3 or more day base tickets it is definitely cheaper to add on days.
