"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Question if anyone knows....what time during the Christmas party is holiday wishes typically? We are looking potentially at November 10th or 11th to eat at California Grill, and would be nice to get a reservation where we can watch this from the windows. Thanks in advance.

I have written down on my planning paper that Holiday Wishes is usually at 9:30PM. I think I got this info from Touringplans.com.

If they let you book fast passes between 3.30pm and 6.30pm, does that mean you can enter the park from 3.30? I have always read they let you in from 4?

No, it's just that from what I read last year, Disney was cancelling FPs with booking windows that ended later than 6:30 on party nights, and since FP windows can't overlap, that means the first one would have to start at 3:30, even though you can't enter with a party ticket earlier than 4:00. (I have seen reports of people being allowed in as early as 3:45, but I don't think it's something you can count on.)

So we are going to the MVMCP for a few reasons (or this is how I pitched spending the extra $ to my husband ;))
1) Shorter lines for rides
2) Special fireworks
3) Shorter lines for characters

As I've never been, I don't know if 1 and 3 are technically true. And we're not interested in meeting "rare" characters like 7 dwarves or Jack Skellington. My daughter just wants to meet princesses - and we're already knocking a few of those off the list by going to Akershus. So for those that have been....really how are the rides? Also since DD is 6, we're likely going to probably last in the park only until 9:30pm or so. Best strategy? We've already figured a quick CS meal around 5pm...but that's about all we have planned!

1) is usually true (except Peter Pan and SDMT)
2) Special parade and Castle stage show, too!
3) isn't really true. In the past most princes meet with their princesses (and is one if not the only time they have regularly scheduled meets), "regular" characters wear special holiday outfits, and rare characters meet - so the lines aren't all that short. I got in line at 6:30 to meet Flynn and Rapunzel/Cinderella and Charming, and I was the third in line already. By the time I got out around 7:10, the line was 45 minutes long.

You are correct. You'll be able to walk on to BTMRR, Splash Mtn, PotC, Space Mtn, HM (7 Dwarf Mine had a scosch of a wait). To be honest, the only time I waited for anything during MVMCP was at Hall of Presidents. And that's just cuz you have to wait in the queue for the previous show to end.

The fireworks and the accompanying music and narration by Jiminey Cricket is really moving.

As for the characters, except for 7 Dwarfs and Jack, there is little to no wait. And check your map to see where they'll be. They will be scattered throughout the park.

And congrats on Akeshus. There is good interaction there. And if you are going at breakfast, make sure to have the cheesy potatoes. They are habit forming.

Hmm might be good just for some extra rides then (we already have 2 days in MK and I'm hoping to FP PP and SDMT). When you refer to you getting in line at 6:30, what time was the meet supposed to start?

I am SO looking forward to cheesy potatoes. LOL...
Hmm previous poster said there was quite a wait for princess/prince meet?

At 7pm, when the party "officially" starts.

You might want to read Kenny the Pirate's party reviews to get an idea of character waits. I've read some characters like Scrooge have regular 45-minute waits. Minnie in her peppermint dress was 20-30. It just depends on who you want to meet.

Also just fyi, if you want to see the parade, you'll need to go to the 8:15. (Fireworks are a 9:30) If you want a good view on Main Street, I'd think you would want to grab a spot about an hour in advance. I've never done that, so not sure. We usually do the second parade and grab a spot about 20-30 minutes before in Frontierland.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ You're giving away the best secrets. Uhhhh... I mean. YES! I mean... Ummmmmm...

Just kidding. There are pro's and cons that everyone will tell you about where to see the parade. Frontierland might not be as crowded. But it also has a narrower sidewalk to try to find a place to stand. The sidewalk may be wider and it may be more crowded on Main St., but some people feel that is THE only way to see it.

As for the meet n greets, from our experience, we never went to Town Hall or the end of Main St. for meet n greets. But just from walking around, there were minimal lines for Merida, Tiana/Naveen, depending on the year, the whole cast from Aladin could be out by the flying carpet ride, The Brer-s and the Country Bears could be out roaming, and our last MVMCP (2014), you could get photopass pics taken with the reindeer from the parade while next to a giant MVMCP ornament.

Is it correct that the second parade starts at 10:30?
Also, what time is the party over? o_O How could I not know this???

Thanks
