"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Okay, I told my wife, and big surprise, she had already figured something out. After we discussed what we wanted to do, (thank goodness I told her, as I as about to screw everything up) we both decided to wait until after Thanksgiving to tell the kids. Now we just have to come up with an original plan to accomplish this. Since we always start putting up the Christmas decorations on the weekend after Thanksgiving, I thought about maybe an early Christmas present under the tree. Any other ideas?
There are threads and threads of great Christmas surprise ideas, all of which are brilliant. So many people have such clever ways to do the! Good luck!
AND what a great husband and dad you are!

How about putting the tickets into some kind of ornament (that can be opened to retrieve them) and "hide" them among the other ornaments in the box for them to find as they decorate the tree?

If it's just you and your wife setting up the tree. What about putting mouse ears on the ornaments? Time consuming but would be cute

  • Give them a countdown calendar without telling them where you are going.
  • We gave ours new Disney t-shirts to wear or new Disney PJs to wear (Target has some nice ones)
  • My DH finished their scrapbook from the last Disney trip and gave it to them - they still didn't get the clue ;)
  • Is there an item that they need on a Disney vacation that they don't have?
  • Make up Rx bottles or M&M tubes stacked with 2 quarters and 1 penny for the penny press machines
  • You kids will love the Sorcerers of the Kingdom game - Give them some plastic sleeves to hold the cards
  • Get a bunch of Disney pins to trade on eBay
You could do a little each day just for fun to see when they unravel the mystery.
Once again - Have a wonderful time both before and during your trip!

Not a bad idea. Maybe instead of decorating the tree with ears, just a tree topper.

Is there a post here that explains getting your party tickets with a different MDE account so you can get the 3 fps between 4-7:00 in addition to the 3 from yoir regular park tickets earlier in the day?

I have a ticket pricing question.............

My wife and I just purchased AP's :D We won't be activating them until November 5th........which is just in time for the MVMCP on November 11th. I'm looking to purchase tickets sometime in early October for myself, my wife, and my brother and his family (3 adult tickets and 1 child ticket).

Question: Will I be able to purchase all tickets at the AP price? ...........or just my wife and myself since we're the 2 AP holders? Hey its not a huge savings but its...........savings.

Doug :goofy:

Attending MK during the day of a scheduled Chrismas party. We are NOT buying tickets for MVMCP. I know we need to be out by 7:00pm but I have two questions......
1. If I have reservations for Tony's at 6:45pm will I be able to eat there without MVMCP wristbands?
2. Can U get in line for a ride at 6:50pm and be able to ride?

Just curious about other peoples experiences with this.

Another character question for you vets - we saw 7 dwarfs at MNSSHP, so DH doesn't really care about that. Also we don't care for Nightmare Before Christmas. We really want to see the Pooh Bear gang in their scarves and such, as Pooh is a favorite, and hopefully Mickey and Minnie at least are those guys usually crazy as well?

I believe when making an ADR for a party night, you have to have party tickets for reservations after a certain time - I am thinking it was 5:30 or so? I believe the notice said that you wouldn't be able to dine after that point (whatever it was) without a party ticket.

I know 6:15 is the cutoff for BOG. If it gives you a time after that, a warning comes up saying you must have a party ticket to eat at that time. Not sure if it's different for other restaurants.

I don't think Tony's is open during the party, so your 6:45 should be good. Just be aware that after dinner, you will be escorted out of the park, "do not pass go, do not collect $200" escorted. If you need to use the latrine, do so before you pay the check.

Have you came up with a shirt design or something special to wear to the party? If so do you care to share your ideas?

Yes to both of these. Tony's does not have a cutoff time, as they are closed during the party.

According to KtP and my experience - The pooh gang does get pretty popular. I'd make them your first choice and show up 15-20 minutes before their set. Mickey meets in his usual location, and thus the line never gets long. Really easy to meet him on your way out of the park. Minnie has her own line by Storybrook Circus and depending on the time of night and crowd level, her line could be 10-45 minutes. So, I'd meet the Pooh gang first, then Minnie, do other things, and stop by Mickey on the way out.

Will Kenny or someone be at the very first party and post the character info ASAP? I am going to the party on Nov 10th and I am wondering if char info will be available. I doubt we will get in line to meet the dwarfs or other popular characters, but I think we will want to meet some. I am disappointed that Mickey and Minnie don't meet together. :(

Yes, he usually offers prelim information and a map before the first party, then goes and updates everything afterwards.

I'd described it more as being "marched" straight out of the park by CMs.
