"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I can't decide but this year I'm leaning towards not going. I sure will miss the parade though! Ok, so if I don't go to the party do I remember correct that the first Christmas show and the lighting of the castle occurs before non-party goers have to leave? Also, what happens if you get into a line around 6:45 or so? I mean, I know you can't stay past party time but will they let you go ahead and ride then go even if it means you are walking out at 7:30? Also, I'm considering making dining reservations at Narcoosees if we don't stay for the party. What time would you make them in order to watch the fireworks from the dock? I'm thinking about making them at 7:30 so we can go straight there when we leave MK. Ugh, or do I stay for the party...:)

We attended the party in mid Nov a couple of years ago. The first show/lighting was at 6:15 pm if I remember correctly but it was still light out. I personally prefer the night lighting. It's just not the same when the sun's out. The castle's absolutely stunning with the sparkling lights at night.

You must have been there the first week of Nov. After the time change (Nov 6 this year), the sun will set around 5:30, so it will be dark by 6:15.

I looked it up to double check. We attended the party Nov 13, 2014. The sun was setting but it wasn't that dark yet. Thanks for the info! We are attending this year so that's good to know.

I'm thinking about going this year during our November trip. Can someone completely sell it for me and make it so I KNOW I will have a good time?

The first time we went was in 2014. I would suggest googling and checking out the pictures from different blogs. I was sold after looking at those blogs. The castle is just absolutely stunning with all of the lights. I love Christmas lights though. We are going again this year. I didn't stay after the last castle lighting but my brother's family did. There's barely a line for the rides.

So so sorry! My memory was off. I went to look up the time stamps on our MVMCP pictures and it was dark already by 6:15 pm like Sharonabe said. I thought we watched it later at night, but I must've mixed it up with something else.

Will Anna and Elsa have meet and greet at the party? I am so bummed that they are now only in Epcot as that is not on our December itinerary and my daughter (like all 3 year olds!) adores Frozen! Hoping we can see them at the party and the lines aren't too long!

I think I remember them being there in 2015 but not entirely sure they still are. Have you considered making a trip over to Epcot for the new FROZEN ride? DGD's visited Anna & Elsa there this past July and the wait wasn't very long at all. Olaf also has a Meet & Greet at Hollywood Studios. Last year we met Anna/Elsa in the MK, being #9 in line after an early morning EMH rope drop. :tink:

Tried searching, but can't find what I'm looking for.

We are not new to Disney, but new to tickets and MDE. We have actual plastic MVMCP tickets in hand. Should we link them to MDE through the app on our phone or online with the computer? Does it matter? We are only doing the party, so no other "trip info" in our MDE.

Only if you want to arrive before 7 and use MDE to make FP+ reservations. You can enter MK at 4. You can make 3 FP+ reservations from the 3:30 to 6:30 time frame if you are arriving early for the party.

I'm just curious what everyone's tickets look like.

Mine are plastic credit card type cards with pics. Of various Disney characters. But nothing that would indicate they anything to do with MVMCP (no holiday theme)

That's what mine look like too. I think they're supposed to be connected to our magic bands too but I'll take the cards with us to be safe.
