"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

hi everyone,
You we all have to excuse my ignorance as I haven't been to disneyworld in nearly 10 years. Myself, husband, (will be) 16 month old, my parents and brother and sister in law are all going in Nobember for 2 weeks. As it won't be that Christmassy when we go we are thinking of doing the party instead.
Is it worth it dragging a 16 month old around pretty late? I would love for him to meet Santa but I've heard mixed reports as to whether he is there in November for meet and greets?
Also (sorry lots of questions) We can only do either 13th or 15th November, which date would be better?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll let everyone else handle the logistics, but as for taking a young toddler to a party, I say DO IT! We took our DD to the Halloween Party last year when she was about 16 months old, and she had a good nap in the car (we went on arrival day), then was able to stay up through the second parade. That being said, you know your child best. Ours is a night owl and fights bed regularly. She would stay up until midnight every night if we'd let her. If you child is one that crashes at 7, you may want to make sure they get a nap in the room beforehand so they can last a little longer, and then take a stroller so they can nap if needed while in the park. Have fun!

Thanks for this. He's a complete night owl, doesn't go to bed till 8.30 and even then fights it. So I'm hoping he would see a lot of the party anyway.

Is Santa Claus there to meet in November?

Thanks

Yes, Santa is at all the parties I believe. So he should be there in November.

I'm feeling really nervous now. Someone mentioned their party having the parade and fireworks rained out-eeek!
I am wondering how often that happens?
Anyone have an idea of when the parties sold out last year?
I am still considering adding another party-now especially for insurance we will see things if the weather causes a problem!

I'm wondering if I should try to find new outfits to wear or just to repurpose the ones that we had...they were a big hit.

Two others are coming this year too - so I have to get colors for them too...silver and gold? I dunno what other christmasy colors to put them in the outfits like we have :o

My $.02 - I'm thinking try and switch them up a bit. That way, when your looking at the pics ten years from now, you'll be able to tell this year's pics from last year!

Which day(s) are you going to be there?

Very rarely do the parade and fireworks get rained out, particularly during MVMCP because those months are some of the driest in FL. If it does, I've seen many report successfully getting refunds on their tickets or a ticket to another (probably not sold-out) night but I'm sure that's not guaranteed.

We will be there early-for the last 2 MNSSHP (bought tickets to the 1st so far) and the first 3 MVMCP (bought for the 10th right now) should I expect it to be mostly dry by then?

If you read my review from last year I hit up every single character outside of the ones were there during the day and princes it's a good resource if you're interested in characters as well or simply ask year as I love the characters especially during the holidays

:santa:I'm worried about the weather for me and my young ones, should I be?
  • *Puts on best New York Accent* I'm from Brooklyn so 50 degrees to me is like a nice summer breeze, however if those of you freeze past 70 degrees please take a jacket, and earmuffs. Also I would recommend you come to NYC to see what a real winter/cold spell it like if you think that's freeze :p
Howyoudoon?

Nothing to add other than thanks for this thread. We've never to the World for Christmas and this is a HUGE help.

Just bought our tickets for the 11/13 party! It's my husband's birthday that night as well! :yay: I'm hoping with the new hub expansion that viewing the castle lighting show won't feel as packed this year. One can dream...

BTW Brooklyn born... Still tawk funny!

Wow! Thanks for putting this together! DH, DS, and I will be attending our first MVMCP on Dec. 1st! DH and I have done Halloween before but are really excited to be there at Christmastime :)

Edit: I'd also like to add that we hail from the greater Boston area, so we are looking forward to the balmy Florida December!

Just wondering how early I should buy tickets? We're planning to go to the 11/10 party. If I buy around the end of September, is that early enough? Or should I go ahead and buy them?

Either the 8th, 10th or 12th I'll be attending my first!!!

As it stands right now, I probably will not decide to buy my ticket until the week of or week before dependent on weather. Aiming for the 10th or 12th unless they are selling out fast.
