"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

I understand that any party can sell out at any time. BUT, we are always worried about weather for special events such as this. We are planning to attend the party on Thursday, Dec 3 and we are hoping that we can wait to buy tickets until we arrive and have a better idea what the weather will be like.

For context, we went to the World two years ago during MNSSHP and waited to buy tickets. The party did not sell out but we chose not buy tickets because rain was in the forecast. Well, it did rain all night and BOTH parades were canceled. Glad we did not go.

I know I am risking disappointment. How long would you risk waiting to buy tickets? If it should rain out some of the festivities, is there any consolation other than riding rides?

Why is the Halloween thread more popular than us...?
For me...this is the first thread I go to read everytime I log in as I don't always get alerts telling me there have been more posts

Also very keen to see our name added to the list of people going for Tues 15th December...so excited for my first ever trip to WDW and first Xmas party

Me too. I read daily about anything that has to do with this. In our party of 3, we all have been to DL hundreds of times (grew up in CA) but never made the trek to FL and now we can't even sleep. It's like the commercial with those kids that are going and the night before they're laying in bed and say "We're too excited to sleep". 4 months but we're too excited to sleep and can't wait for our 1st trip

Thank you Minniekins. I'll be on a bus because I decided to book a Royal Room at POR. I'm so excited.

You're welcome! Ooh, that's exciting! My DD25 was just saying a couple days ago she wants us to book a royal room at POR soon! Have a great vacation, and the parties are awesome! :santa:

hi everyone,

You we all have to excuse my ignorance as I haven't been to disneyworld in nearly 10 years. Myself, husband, (will be) 16 month old, my parents and brother and sister in law are all going in Nobember for 2 weeks. As it won't be that Christmassy when we go we are thinking of doing the party instead.

Is it worth it dragging a 16 month old around pretty late? I would love for him to meet Santa but I've heard mixed reports as to whether he is there in November for meet and greets?

Also (sorry lots of questions) We can only do either 13th or 15th November, which date would be better?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, usually Sunday's are less crowded than Friday's for the Xmas parties. If you're there for two weeks, it should be getting more Christmassy as the weeks go. For me, yeah I'd take my 16 month old! As long as you have a stroller they can sleep anytime, while everyone still gets to go and have a fun time. I'd hate to have everyone either not go or you and the baby not go. And, if she's had a nap she should be good for awhile and have lots of fun meeting Santa! Plus with all the pretty lights from the parades and the castle, I bet she'd love looking around at all the beautiful Christmas things! Hope you go, I bet you'll all have a great time! :santa:

I bought tickets for the 11/12 party. It's our final night there after the F&W marathon and festival. I love that there's an overlap. I never thought we'd be able to do both! We've been before---insanely crowded to the point of irritation, but my daughter and her friend have not been. They are both in their 20s so can maneuver just fine on their own. I'm crossing my fingers that this early party in November won't be as crazy as the one we went to in December a few years ago.
I will be at the 11/12 party too! You should be pleasantly surprised at the crowds, as the earlier November parties do not typically sell out like the Dec parties do. The Thursday party last year did not sell out.. We went on 11/16 last year and it was the least crowded we experienced all week. It is especially less crowded after the first parade and fireworks.. I walked on all of my favorite rides over and over. Have fun!

Can anyone help please?
Depending on when you go, it very well could be Christmasy--MK is decorated by the first MVMCP, and AK and HS follow suit the middle of November. Epcot is decorated by Thanksgiving weekend, and the resorts follow the same schedule--I think they start working on them the second week in November. So, Christmas abounds in November! :)

We didn't see Santa there last year, but we weren't looking for him. We were also at the very first party, so it's possible he just wasn't there. He's on the character meet & greet list for the parties though I believe, so you should be able to meet him. As for whether it's "worth" taking your little one--only you can answer that. You know what your kid can and can't handle better than anyone; some kids tolerate being up late better than others. If you usually do an early bedtime because he/she gets fussy late, then maybe not.

Weekday parties are typically less full than weekend parties, so Sunday > Friday. However, that doesn't mean the 15th won't sell out. I say pick whichever day you prefer, or the one that works best with your schedule, and go with it. Even a sold-out party is less crowded than a typical day at MK.

Generally speaking, which is a less crowded party night, Tuesday or Thursday? Or are they about the same? (to get specific, the week after Thanksgiving)

Just to clarify...as long as I have a regular park ticket, I do not have to have the park hopper option to attend Epcot that day and MK for the party at night? Will the party use up one of my ticket days?

Our party shirts arrived today! :yay:

I am no expert (so if wrong someone correct me)..
1. You are correct you do not have to have a Park Hopper
2. No the party will not use up your daily ticket as it is a hard ticket event

Tuesdays have been reported to be the least crowded day to attend, with any weekday being better than any weekend.

However, with the party being on hiatus over the Thanksgiving holiday, you may find that Tuesday to be more crowded than others.

We got our tickets for Nov 15th! We're excited to do this as we did MNSHP 2 years ago and made it a point to go when christmas decorations were up this trip before we try disneyland in '17

Generally, Tuesday is less crowded, however, when we went that week in 2013, all 3 parties that week sold out and I would expect the same this year. I would go with what works best for your schedule.

My boss’ wife is a Disney travel agent and she said of all days to attend the party, she highly recommends Tuesdays. She looked at the numbers from the past few years and said Tuesday had the least amount of people that entered the gates so we chose Tuesday nights. I cannot wait for the schedule to come out to really see it and start making a plan. December just can’t come fast enough.

For those who have done the party before...we'll be there for the party on December 1st. We're only in the parks for 2 days, so we're using that night for MK. We have very little interest in the parades, fireworks or meet and greets. My hope is that the majority of folks there that night will want those other things and the rides will be a little shorter for lines. What do you think? Am I deluding myself?

Not at all! Shorter lines is a huge benefit of the parties! We were at 2 sold out parties last year and nearly every ride was a walk-on. The expection was SDMT (still 30-60 minute waits), and we did wait 10 or 15 minutes for PPF.

I'm wondering if I should try to find new outfits to wear or just to repurpose the ones that we had...they were a big hit.

Two others are coming this year too - so I have to get colors for them too...silver and gold? I dunno what other christmasy colors to put them in the outfits like we have :o
