"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

My family of 6 will be in DW 12/9-12/15 on a Make-a-Wish trip. My DD's wish is to celebrate Christmas at DW (she wants to attend MVMCP). Because of the $, we don't know yet if MAW will be buying the tix or if we will need to pay out of pocket. Here are my questions:
1. If paying out of pocket I will need to buy one or two tix at a time. Can I pay for them using Disney gift cards?
2. What type of special MVMCP merchandise is available? I definitely want some pins and ornaments!! (I may have asked this before but I can't find the post)
3. We'll be visiting MK the day before the party and plan (hope) to ride plenty of rides then and focus more on characters and the holiday atmosphere on Sunday. What rare characters are most sought after during the party?
4. This is our 1st DW trip, as well as our 1st ever family vacation...what are the absolute MUST DO's during the party?
Thanks so much!

Just booked Little Mermaid room 11/9-11/12 and are coming just for 11/10 party. So excited! We have not bought tickets yet...should we go ahead and get them? Since it's the second party of season I was thinking we could just wait till we got a little closer to date.

Love this thread! :santa:

Since you're coming specifically for the party, I would go ahead and buy them now. What if you wait too long and that date sells out?

1. Yes.

2. I haven't been since 2007, but then they had T-shirts, sweatshirts, pins, ornaments, a coffee mug, I think a picture frame, and a Mickey Santa hat. (And I mean a Mickey Santa hat that said Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on it.)

3. The Seven Dwarves and a new one last year was Jack Skellington dressed as Sandy Claws.

4. Parade, Holiday Wishes and stage shows.

I will be there the 1st week of December and was considering going to the party on Friday the 4th instead of Thursday the 3rd. However it looks like besides being $10 more expensive per ticket that the crowd is predicted to be significantly worse for a Friday party. Is this true? After reading a few things I am definitely leaning towards just hitting the party on Thursday and forgoing Epcot's EMH that night to make MVMCP a more enjoyable experience.

Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends, as a lot of locals will hit the weekend parties. However, that being said, each party has a finite number of tickets available, so even a sold out party won't feel as crowded as a bust day at MK. I recommend buying tickets for whichever night fits your schedule best. Have fun!!!

I need some help deciding if I should buy 4 x tickets to this. We have only one day at Disney World, the day before our cruise leaves.

We bought 4 x tickets and planned to use them Dec 4th, staying 9:00 AM to midnight to see as much as we could. Just found out today that Disney are kicking us out at 7:00 unless we pay extra for this event. Looks like it includes fireworks & a parade but I thought that happened every night anyways.

If they thin out the crowd at 7:00 paying again may make sense if it shortens the lines.

Can someone who's been explain why this is worth it?

The parade and fireworks that occur during the party are different than the regular offerings. There are also special character meet & greets, holiday shows and snacks, and exclusive party merchandise available. As the parties are limited ticket events, even a sold out party is far less crowded than a busy day in MK, so lines for rides are basically non-existent. But do plan to stay until midnight to get your money's worth from the party!

* i think you need to consider the pricing for all options ( you'll have to look up these prices because i don't know of the top of my head)
One day MK ticket, in this case hours are 9am-7pm $105?
Just Xmas Party ticket 4pm-midnight (they let you in before 7pm) $75
MK ticket plus party ticket $180
One day ticket to any other of the 3 parks $100 EPCOT would be open 9am-930pm probably
One day park hopper ticket $? This would allow you to go to more than one park, so you could go to MK then finish the night at EPCOT for example.

Check all the park hours, check all the prices and decide. I would probably do the Xmas Party ticket only and folk the rest of the morning and afternoon by enjoying my resort and character breakfast on the monorail or afternoon tea at Grand Floridian.

Thanks. We've never been so we will don't need 'extra special' parades or fireworks to be blown away. Meet & greets are a non factor. Like the short lines, really like the sound of that. Basically non-existant eh?

The longest we waited for anything was maybe 15 minutes, at that was PPF, which the kids were demanding.

Can you add us to the list for Dec 6th. This will be our first MVMCP and we are very excited! :santa:

Doug :goofy:

Since this is our first MVMCP......which M&G has the toughest line?

Im most interested in Santa Goofy......but the Dwarves and Jack Skelington are high on our list.

Dwarfs and Sandy Claws will both be quite long. Pick your favorite and line up around 5. Then try for the other as late in the night as possible. Note that lines will be cut off before the party officially ends. Also, last year Jack started meeting before the party started, so you may want to start with him.

We will be either at the Nov. 15 or the Nov. 17 MVMCP! Soooo excited!! I haven't gotten to go to this in 2 years, and it's one of my favorite things to do. I can't wait...

Sorry for the double post, but in anyone's experience, is there a difference in the crowd level for a Sunday MVMCP and one on a Tuesday? Just trying to decide :)

Either one is a good choice; historically Tuesdays have been the least crowded night, and weeknights are always less crowded than weekends.
