***Official March 2021 Thread***

I would do AK. I didn’t rope drop it on my October trip and still did everything I wanted to do by 3 in the afternoon.

..with hours now extended, we may do just that. Honestly, we only want to go to Disney Springs to get a Gideon’s cookie! I see they are open until 10pm. Anyone know if you go after the parks and get a cookie at 8-9pm?

Haven’t been yet, but I think I read that they close the virtual queue for Gideon’s at 7 so they can be sure to get everyone through by closing time.

Hi everyone--joining in as we are booked to stay March 20-26. Split stay Boulder Ridge 20-24 and OKW 24-26. We're in the midwest watching the snow come down with 0 degrees temps so Florida sounds heavenly right about now. Also had a rough last year (more on that below) so this is a much needed cheer-us-up trip!

Felt compelled to respond to this directly as I'm one of the few people on these boards who has posted about our family getting Covid-19 at Disney World last August. Obviously, we are going back (and we actually went back for a short stay in October too) so don't blame Disney or anything, but I do wish I could go back and kick myself for the rose-tinted goggles I had on, thinking we'd all be masked and use sanitizer and be safe.

The main reason I talk about it on these boards is I think it is worth remembering that all the safety measures in the world only work if people follow them--we were very disappointed in the number of people not wearing masks properly (i.e., chin slings or nose peekers) and coming up close to us in indoor line queues or buses/monorail/elevators. I hope some of that is better now as I think last summer there were a lot more people who thought it was all a "hoax"--and hopefully that is not as common any more, or at least people are now more resigned/used to mask wearing. We also did eat indoors, so that risk was on us, but it is hard to find only outdoor meals at WDW (really wish they'd install more patios--we're going to focus on outdoor dining this trip). I'm not saying don't go--obviously I'm going again, but I do sometimes feel it is important to speak up and give both sides of the story because I feel these boards can be a bit of a positivity echo chamber sometimes. Nothing wrong with that--it's fun to be excited about a disney trip; I just don't want people to not take the risk seriously.

On the positive side, we made a ton of happy memories that trip, and definitely feel the magic is still there at WDW. Hope everyone here has an an equally amazing time (and stays healthy)! The increased wait times do give me some pause, but we're planning to spend less time this trip in the parks, and more just relaxing at the resort. We are interested in buying DVC, so we're trying out a couple of DVC resorts we are interested in to see if that is something that would work for our family.

Thank you for being open and sharing your experience.

Added a day to our park tickets so we can get dinner in Epcot our first night 🙌🏻
Also pushed my anxiety aside (for now) and booked a meal for almost every day. We haven't eaten at a restaurant (even outside) in a year, so it will definitely feel weird!

Here are our dining plans each day... I had to base things off what my picky eaters would enjoy (husband is the worst one! Haha)
Sunday - Epcot - La Hacienda de San Angel dinner
Monday - MK - Liberty Tree Tavern dinner
Tuesday - HS - no reservations
Wednesday - Epcot - Trattoria al Forno breakfast
Thursday - AK / Springs - City Works Pour House dinner
Friday - MK - Cinderella Royal Table dinner 🏰

Kind of missing having the dining plan as I add up how much these meals will be... but it'll be worth it to have a clean space to sit and rest while we eat instead of relying on mobile ordering for every meal.

We’re looking at plans as well. Trying to balance the need for a designated space versus discomfort being indoors. I was looking at mobile ordering options this morning. We have a few ADRs made but I have to play around with plans a little more to see what we want to keep. Sigh. 😂

Who would have thought it would be so hard to decide if we should eat in disney restaurants?? 🤣
It's such a weird time to plan a trip!!

But hey it's Disney so it'll be ok no matter what!! °o°

Crossing fingers for extended hours for the rest of March!!
Haha, I am crossing fingers for SHORT hours the week I am going (20-26) because short hours are a sign that Disney expects lower crowds. I'd rather have short hours with 30 minute waits all day than 2-3 extra hours with hour plus waits all day. Park passes are still green that week unlike the week before (which makes sense because the week before is Florida spring break) so I am cautiously optimistic it might be less crowded. On the other hand, APs are blocked out for two weeks beginning on the 27th, so I'm worried a lot of APs will be going my week to get in another trip before the blockout.

For anyone there the 1st week of March, they've extended MK 9 AM to 8 PM on Mar 4 & 5, Epcot 11 AM to 9 PM on Mar 5th, and AK 8 AM to 6 PM on Mar 5th

I went to the site to check on pushing back ADR's but our account still shows MK only open until 7 on Mar 4th... wonder what the deal is.

The ADR openings don't always immediately follow when they change the park hours - sometimes it takes a few days for those openings to catch up.

That is correct--MK is still only open until 7pm on March 4. The new hours were for March 7-13.

I'm added! I impulse purchased a trip for Celery (5) spring break! I'm so excited. I love to come to WDW and swim and relax. We're going to stay at Coronado (never stayed before) and I'm planning one day at MK and one at Epcot. Hope I don't regret that. Anyway....

C and Celery 3/23-3/26 at Coronado Springs
