I cut a sponge in half and put dish soap on each to dry (this is so we can wash breakfast plates in the villa- but is perfect for those of you with little ones whose sippy cups and binks you must wash.)

What a great idea!!! I might do that to take for our refillable mugs. Do you put in a ziploc bag or something during transport in case moisture collects so it won't get soap on everything?

We designed some Disney tshirts last night, I will post pics if anyone is interested in seeing?

:banana:Show us! Show us!

Well my dd decided TO NOT major in dance...a HUGE sad decision because she too realizes that you are OLD by the time you are in your mid 20's. However she is still taking dance classes at Towson and she even had approval to take some Dance Major Classes last year (Freshman Year) and will do that again. She takes 2 each semester and still gets to perform because they are Dance Major classes. We went twice last year to see her in the performances in the winter and spring. This summer she is taking drop in classes a couple of times a week....she says all the time "I am so out of shape" because I am not dancing all the time anymore. She is classically trained in Ballet but also did the dance company throughout high school...what I call "Hootchie Mama" dancing. :rotfl: She loves dance.

Sounds familiar! I majored in education and minored in dance. That way, I could always take a Praxis test and be a dance teacher in a school if I wanted to continue the whole dance thing :) I really loved it too. I actually think it's a lot of the reason that I've struggled since college feeling 'lost' and like I'm not myself. It really was WHO I was for 17 years of my life, you know? Plus, as soon as you stop, weight becomes an issue because you aren't in that hard core 'training' mode and so now I have no dance and a big a** :rotfl: Great for the self esteem! :rotfl:

Oh, and mgsmom, I LOVE your cards!!!!! You and I would be BFFs!! :rotfl2: Don't forget to put the confirmation for your 1 ADR on somewhere too in case you get there and they don't have your name :thumbsup2

OOh so exciting reading everyone's posts!!! Not liking the rain though - we get enough rain here in Scotland - I'm not wanting LOADS when we are in Florida!! That said I know a couple of people who went this time last year (we went out on 16th last year I think!?) and my friends had bad weather and we were fine.

Well we are down to 6 days!! Woo hoo!! But we actually leave home in 4 as we are having a night with the inlaws on the way down to Manchester (they have a holiday home in the Lake District in England this week so we're joining them for Friday night) then in a hotel near Manchester Airport on Saturday night!! So 4 days to get organised - eek!! Tomorrow have a v busy day so nothing will get done then - I have a VERY busy Wednesday it would appear!! Just means it'll all come faster!!! Yeay!!

Safe journeys those of you who are heading very very soon!!

mo x

OK, I am starting to do some major laundry today, and tomorrow I will be packing all the kids' things!! Wednesday I will pack all of my clothes. We leave Thursday. It's almost here and fast becoming a reality!!!!! :cool1:

We are not going anywhere tomorrow or Wednesday. Just laundry, cleaning, packing and relazing in between! My fridge seems so empty too...a sure sign we are about to go on vacation! ;)

We watched "National Lampoon's Vacation" the other night, a tradition of ours before we hit the road! While we were watching and laughing harder than ever before, I said to DH, "You know, you should see if you can download (into MP3 player) that song they play every time the Griswolds are on the road...so DH went online., downloaded it, and it will be the first song we play on the MP3 Player in the car (it hooks up to the speakers) every time we pull out of a place! We tested it out the other day when we left for Six Flags Great Adventure. We were laughing so hard! The name of the song is "Holiday Road" and it only has like 2 or 3 lines and a chorus that keeps repeating. It's just so funny to us though because we love that movie!!

I don't have a lot of cooking to do between now and the trip either! Tonight the boys requested breakfast for dinner so I will be making omelettes, potatoes, etc. We had 2 hamburgers leftover from yesterday's BBQ at our house so they boys will eat those tomorrow for dinner, and we will have big salads with grilled chicken in them. Wednesday we keep to tradition and order pizza!! And we leave Thursday morning, EARLY!!! DH and I will be getting up at 4AM, getting ready, loading the car with all the luggage, and then wake the boys, get them dressed, have a quick snack, and head out by 5:30am...go pick up bagels and coffee and hit the road!

Sounds like an awesome! Plan!

Oh, and we have breakfast for dinner all the time. We call it "Brinner!" :thumbsup2

My DH keeps asking me "What time does our flight leave Burlington?" I keep repeating "6:00 a.m. we have to get up by 2:30 to get there by 4:30." I think he's in denial about having to get up so early!!! :lmao:

I have never been so excited about this before but...my laundry is in the machine as I type this!! :laundy::banana:

DH is off to a massage client. In addition to being a teacher, he is a licensed massage therapist too! One of his clients called this morning to book an appointment...excellent timing for the trip as we won't have to take out as much from the bank! Feels like some pixie dust has come our way! pixiedust:

DH opened the fridge to get something to drink with dinner, and he turned to me and said, "Wow, I know this vacation is so close because the fridge looks so empty!" :lmao:

Now I know that the next 2 days are going to pass so slowly...even though I will be: :cloud9: the whole time! ;)

OMG!!! :lmao:

I have NEVER seen that! Now I wonder if my kids have seen it!

Getting ready to do a little pre-packing/organizing and watch the Bachelorette! :goodvibes I read a magazine at the beach a week ago, so I already know the BIG drama that's going to happen and I wish I didn't. I like suspense :thumbsup2

Here is my boring suitcase report:

First, I went by Target and nearly flipped out. And immediately remembered why I did not buy my suitcase there. The one I like was $169.99.

Then, I went by Dillards because their suitcases are on sale, 50% off.

Well, the prices were not marked on the suitcases I liked. So I asked an associate to please let me know the price. Well, "Good news, this one is $180.00 on sale!" :scared: So I asked just to be sure. "$180 is the sale price at half off?" She replied, "Yes, regular price $360." :faint:

So, I then went to TJ Maxx.

And found this:

But the best part was this:

Yippie!!! Great deal! Luggage is so stinking expensive and I don't understand why :confused3 I love Marshalls & TJ Maxx!!

It's expensive because we're all stuck...we need it to go on vacation and the companies know and take advantage of that! :rotfl: I'm really not that cynical, but I have a feeling that is why it is so expensive! ;)

:yay: ME :yay: ME :yay: ME :rotfl2: I love making that TO DO LIST and crossing stuff off one by one. We leave on Sunday at 5:00 a.m. but we still have busy schedules this week with appts. and high school summer soccer games so I have to be oraganized!!!! Hubby washed and detailed the van inside and out. :thumbsup2 GOOD JOB HUBBY!!! :goodvibes We just dropped it at Toyota this evening for the 25,000 maintenance stuff to be done tomorrow.

Our high school son has a loose bracket so I need to call ortho in the morning to get that fixed. grrrrrrrrrr Was not in the plan!!! Suitcases are out..... I have started STAGING stuff. Do any of you STAGE????? I started pulling some stuff out the last couple of days. I have my DON'T FORGET to bring list. Realized I didn't put down: GO TO THE BANK!!!! :scared1: SO added that...

I will slowly start cleaning because I want it done closer to the time we leave..same with laundry.

I can't wait until Sat. then I can say WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW" :dance3:

It repeats in the middle of the night...check your listings. :thumbsup2 I just watched them make MICKEY BARS!!!!

I'm watching Unwrapped: Disney Delights on the Food Network. It's really getting me in the mood to start my packing tomorrow. Disney Mickey Mouse Bars!!! Yum! Now, I want dessert and I want to be in Disney World. The pictures of Disney are making me want to be there now!

Ugh Crohn's disease and pre trip jitters do not mix! Plus came home to a disaster left by the path of a little kitten who knows how to push open doors with his little nose!

But there is a Mad Men marathon on, so at least I have some packing entertainment!

I wanted to share some pictures of the shirt I designed for our trip. This is the 'blue one' but we also made one with pink lettering, let me know what you think!

This is the front

You guys are SO quick - I can't keep up!!!

I do have some Disney bags in the works, really really am going to start them tomorrow. Everything seems to be getting in the way - and I only have a 2hr window every day for sewing - aka "DD's naptime"

I am SOOOOOO downloading "Holiday Road" and surprising DH with it when we take off! We LOVE that movie! What a great idea!

Talk about "staging" - I'm going to bring my stroller up to my "workroom" (aka guestroom) tomorrow to put gear in it and such to make sure everything fits without being too much. Plus I wanna get the Disney bag straps just the right length. Bought a Bugaboo canopy extender - it's AWESOME - but a little loose. I think I'm going to attach some velcro to it near the handlebar so I can pull it a little tighter.

Wow - I can't believe I'm really getting to the nitty gritty!
Oh - I found ponchos at Target for 70 cents a piece - in that little bargain spot right as you walk in the door.

What else.... OH - I heart TJ Maxx too!

It repeats in the middle of the night...check your listings. :thumbsup2 I just watched them make MICKEY BARS!!!!

I can't believe I missed this...I am constantly searching the guide (I have Verizon FIOS TV) for Disney World. I set the DVR to record it in the middle of the night. I'm sure the boys will enjoy watching it with me tomorrow!!

I'm sorry about your Crohn's disease. I have IBS (which I know is not nearly as bad as Crohn's, not trying to compare or anything)...and my stomach has been going crazy for over a week already. I've been taking my IBS medicine regularly (Bentyl) and it is helping. I always get like this pre-vacation, and also on vacation when I am eating richer food than usual. We have an 18-night trip between driving down and stopping here and there for a few days, and I know that I will have at least a few of what I call "stomach attacks". I will be taking 2 probiotics a day on this trip instead of the usual 1 daily, and I will be taking my IBS medicine regularly throughout the whole trip too. Hopefully that will minimize it.

The shirt you designed is adorable!!! I love it! ;)
