I know it's nothing like what you guys have, but I always "vacation irregularlity." The only thing I don't look forward to when I'm headed to Disney!

Understandable...you're more excited than usual, probably more stressed at getting everything done and wanting the vacation to go smoothly, and so your body feels it. Your mind may even feel calm but your body still feels the effects of stress. It's called eustress. Many people get that way and experience different symptoms from it. Some people get migraine headaches, some get tension headaches, some get backaches or other muscle soreness or pain, and some get digestion issues like myself. This happened to me when I was planning my wedding back in 2001. I was surprisingly calm in the weeks leading up to our wedding, but still, my stomach felt the effects of all the excitement.

I, like you, don't look forward to the physical feelings of the pre-trip stress (and it happens to me before any type of vacation), but it is totally worth it and then some to go to Disney, or any other vacation we go on!

One thing that helps me though is taking probiotics regularly. I take Culturelle and it helps so much with the tummy issues. The problem with me is that I am out of my normal routine since last week when the school year ended and I started summer vacation. Usually, I would take a probiotic right before leaving for work every morning (and yes, I would frequently forget to take it on weekends), but I have not been taking it religiously since the school year ended. The last couple of days I have been remembering to take it, and I will take 2 a day on vacation as I know I will be eating more junky than usual, even though I do the best I can to still eat fruits, veggies, and healthy foods. I still love indulging on vacation!

Ugh Crohn's disease and pre trip jitters do not mix! Plus came home to a disaster left by the path of a little kitten who knows how to push open doors with his little nose!

But there is a Mad Men marathon on, so at least I have some packing entertainment!

I wanted to share some pictures of the shirt I designed for our trip. This is the 'blue one' but we also made one with pink lettering, let me know what you think!

We went to the zoo yesterday...we were there from 10am until about 12:30 and it was so hot. But it was bearable. We had a nice time with DMIL & DFIL, and we did all the outside exhibits first and then we went into the indoor ones (air-conditioning!!) as it got hotter out. The whole time I was thinking about how we would handle the Florida heat and then I thought to myself that we handled it just fine 2 years ago, we drank a lot of water, and many of the attractions are air-conditioned anyway! Plus it is Disney and there is always a store around to go into and cool off for a few minutes!

I was watching the news this morning and when the weather came on, they said that our high for today will be 99, but it will only be 90 in Orlando!! I was thinking of all our DIS friends who are down there right now and from the Northeast...they are lucky, they actually went to Florida and escaped a heat wave!

When we were at WDW 2 years ago, I remember speaking to my mom on the phone and we were comparing weather, and it was actually hotter here than it was down there, which made us feel really good about going to Florida in the summer! Hey, it happens!

I did all my laundry already, last night after the kids went to bed! Trouble is, I don't want to pack it in the suitcase until tomorrow (don't want wrinkled clothes)...it is folded nicely (suitcase-style!) and on my livingroom couch. Nowhere else to put it now. I suppose what I can do is put it into the suitcase later on today, and keep the suitcase laid flat in my son's bedroom (there is plenty of room on his floor by the window and it wouldn't disturb him at night or anything). That way it is not being rolled around, I can double check that it is still not wrinkled tomorrow, and then close it up tomorrow night and bring it downstairs to the livingroom ready to load the car on Thursday morning!! Ahh problems, problems...these should be the worst I ever encounter!

We have less than 48 hours until we leave. I programmed all hotel addresses into the GPS already, and I just have to add my uncle's address in Florida and my friends' addresses in Maryland for when we visit them on the drive back up.

I hope everyone is having a nice morning, and for those of you in the northeast, stay as cool as possible in the next couple of days!

In our county in MD, fireworks are illegal for people to shoot off themselves and people still do it. We had a really fun time at our fireworks this year and it actually only took us 25 minutes to get out of the lot, walk to our cars, and get home. It's a record. As we were watching the firework though, I kept thinking "These are good, but Disney is the best. I can't wait to watch them there!!! Two more week and we will be in North Carolina by now!! (at least). I can't wait!

Just curious, where do you live in MD. We live in MoCo.

We are in Baltimore County(Randallstown) and they were going off all night too!!

You guys are so lucky to have low crowds!
I'm with you - a little rain is not a bad thing at all! I just hope we don't end up with a wash-out with the depressions floating around!

Thanks for all the clever ideas, everyone!
I made some "info cards" to take with us to the parks. On one side, I listed the attractions we most want to see at each park. I noted the location and any special notes ("Fast Pass" or "rarely has a line" stuff like that). On the flip side, I listed 3 CS and 3 TS restaurants that had gotten good reviews and were not too expensive. I also hunted restaurants that tend to have openings - we only have 1 ADR - we are winging it!!!
Anyhoo - I'm laminating them at OfficeMax so they won't be ruined if they get wet. So, when we head out to a park, we just grab that card to take in the bag and we have somewhat of a loose plan. I hope it works!!!

Well we are at 17 days!! I think I am going to tell my daughter this weekend because I really want to pull out the suitcases!!
We are having a heat wave in MD they say it is going to be 100 today!!

ok I need opinions on two things..
1. I bought my daughter and nephew GCs to go in their welcome letters for them to buy a special souvie with. I put 10 on each card but then this weekend I was thinking that would not be enough.. how much do you think I should put on there??

2. We have GAD passes that we are going to use and upgrade to get our tickets-since the tickets are front end loaded and it will be like 3 bucks to get another day added, I was thinking that we should go and take care of all that on Friday evening just to get it done so we are not spending precious park time on Saturday am. We have an 8:05 ADR on Sat as wel... thoughts??

I KNOW!!! I debated and debated it but then I decided that we should use it for the ticket because my daughter does not do any thrill rides so it would be wasted..but now (of course) I am second, and third and fourth guessing myself!!!
