Howdy July peeps! I'm thinking of changing my ADR for July 4th at an EPOCT restaurant. I really wanna try breakfast at Akershus. Opinions would help. Or if you have a better one i would love your input!

110 days!

First of all, are you planning on spending the entire day at Epcot? If so eating breakfast early, you would still need another meal later that day. That said,
I have always wanted to try Akershus, and it would probably be very filling. We do a late lunch early dinner to break up the long day there. I like several of the Epcot restaurants, so it is really hard to pick. Have you checked out the menus on All Ears?

Off to get passports for my son and I on Thursday. Throw in a shopping trip to get me a Buxton travel organizer and some shorts for him. My daughter is looking for a new bathing suit and some sandles. And hubby will just stand around telling us to hurry up and "do you really need that"

We are doing Crystal Palace at 11:30 on July 22 - originally we were doing 1:10 - I don't think DD will last that long.
See... this is why I don't have any other ADRs... they just worry me.

July 9th changing it to Narcoosssee's at 8 or 9 my neighbor needs to get a time for this one.

I'm not weirded out because no one here knows my last name, I don't post any pictures of myself so no one knows what I look like, and I don't post pictures of my kids or any other family members. I don't think you are crazy for worrying though...this is why I don't post pictures!!! I think sometimes that I am paranoid, but better off being safe than sorry. Although I like and respect everyone I have come into contact with on the DIS, you truly never know who you really are talking to on a forum like this. I hope I have not offended anyone by saying this.

I think she came back at one point to say that she either canceled her trip or changed her dates so she is no longer going in July.

Hmmm, interesting thought. I never thought about it in that way. I think this is a pretty safe board and people who go to disney are pretty normal....relatively. All I know is that I met around 5 or 6 Disers on my honeymoon and it was awesome!!

pretty normal....relatively... I don't think my non-Disney friends think I am normal. I asked my mom what is so different about returning to Disney every year like she returns to the beach. She said, "I don't obsess about the beach the rest of the year." (My mom is too smart sometimes!)

Your mom is wise!! It is just so hard to explain how one place can wrap itself into you all year long, year after year.

We just finished making our Disney Volunteer Cards for Cancer patients and will drop them off tomorrorw. We needed to make 20 cards per person but we made an extra 30 cards since we had so much fun doing it.

Some of our group will get the free ticket and the rest are getting the Fastpasses! Since we'll have an AP, we are doing the FP -- in summertime with heat and crowds, I think that's a terrific option!

I am more careful on facebook than I am on the Disboards. My picture on facebook is Cinderella's castle - lol!

That said, last year on the July board several of us did post pictures, and it was nice to recognize Nikki and Tom, and PopArtGal. I don't know that I would do it on any board, but after you "get to know" people on this board (The July Board, I mean), it was not so scary, but I also understand anyone who does feel uncomfortable about it.

I guess I do obsess about Disney, but I think I could have much worse habits, so I will stick with this one!

YES, I almost forgot, last year we all posted pictures of ourselves so we would recognize each other! I also posted a picture of my decorated (with LGMH) sling bag and made sure everyone knew that I would have my bride ears on. I think that helped because everyone who I met actually recognized me (or my bag) first. There was something a little odd about hearing your name from out of nowhere in the parks but it kind of made me feel like a celebrity for a minute! We ran into Wendy on the Poly beach, which was fun because we got to chat for a few minutes until she had to go back to the exclusive concierge lounge to watch Wishes while we stayed on the beach with the common folk....

What was funny about that Nikki, was Ashley spotted you, or your bag rather, from the window in the concierge lounge. I felt so silly running after you! But, I am glad we did because it was fun to meet - and look, here we are again!

I made large twelve-inch LGMH for the stroller and I had them dangling down. They are hard NOT to notice. I also made 6" ones to attach to my diaper bag.

But yes, on our last trip in November, I didn't see anyone nor did someone come up to me.

A couple of years ago I was at WDW with my son and family. At that time a stuffed alligator was going around.(Think Beanie Baby) When we got tho the Contemporary to check in, they gave me the bag with the stuffed animal in it. All so in there was here cell phone number. I called her and we decided to meet at Epcot. They were staying off site. They were from Forfar Scotland. We visited for awhile and were not able to meet up again, but kept in contact through e-mail, then Skype and phone. She can call here on her cell phone for free. Come this July, we are meeting again. They are renting a 5 bedroom house and I am staying with them for a week of their 20 day vacation. We have had a lot of fun conversations, and I have learned a lot of different words for different things. so thank you Dis for giving me a great friendship. We will be at MK on July 4th and Epcot on July9th if anyone wants to have a mini meet.

Those large ones would be hard not to notice! Last year, there was a mini meet at DHS - I couldn't stay for the actual meet but that is when I met Christy - PopArtGal.

I had suggested awhile back that those of us in Epcot on July 4th try to meet. I am thinking the Grey Goose/Gran Marnier Slush stand in France. It is right next to the crepe stand - what could be better!

I really think we should try to set some up!

That is so neat!! I also made a friend of the Disboards a few years ago. We met at Pop Century when we were both staying there. She and I still email each other just about every day. You never know where you will find a friend!

My park plans are the opposite of yours for July 4 and 9. We are at MK the 9th and Epcot the 4th. But, I might be able to meet earlier on the 9th or something.

We will DEFINITELY do this! So far it's you and me! I'm positive others will join us. It's just so far in advance right now. When it's closer, I'm sure we'll get some more definites.

Hey there July board! I just wanted to add myself to the list. We'll be there starting on July 28th. We were there the same week last year, too! My husband had a conference and this year we're hoping to see the shuttle launch. It's my birthday that week which makes it even more special!

I'm more disboard savvy this year so I'll be adding a LGMH to my bag and hoping somebody says "hi"!
